I have a few HP Laserjet 3800n's at work. We use Macs running Mac OS X Leopard (10.5.6) and whenever we use the Papyrus font in Microsoft Word, the laserjets get an error 49.4C02. On Macs running 10.4, the file prints fine.

i have ibook g4 and running word 2004,but when i open a word file that contains arabic sentences the letters are separate and not continious,the first sentence below is the right format and the second is the wrong format my word shows me:

The list of fonts on the drop-down menu in MS Word 2004 for Mac shows 3 fonts which are not in Font Book:Helvetica CELucinda Grande CYMonaco CE.I do not use them, so how can I remove them from the Word menu?2. Lately whenever i begin to start up MS word or Excell

"The font webdings is corrupt and should be removed"
then it proceeds to give the same message about each of the fonts in my osx system folder
Fonts on screen are much smaller than printed versions. Can't hardly see onscreen & I'm sending resumes!!

When I open pages it always uses helvetica as the default font.Can i set it to a different one like times new roman as a default.I mean you can tell it to start up by default to a specific page style, why not a specific font also?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got some internet going again after having moved. I've had my new Octopus for a few weeks tho. So much to my surprise, I open up my gmail account and it's practically unintelligible. Some weird cartoon like font is my default font. As far as I can tell, all the default fonts are activated and all the settings point to the activated fonts, but this is driving me absolutely F__KING bonkers. Has anyone ever had this problem? Now to be fair, I did install some fonts from a semi questionable font disk a week or two ago, so maybe some rogue font has hijacked my web fonts.

On windows you just right click the desktop > appearance and bang. How can I do it on the mac? My problem, i created one text box in a document, somehow 2 more appeared. I made the mistake of thinking that to delete the extra text boxes, i simply highlight them and delete them. Silly stupid me, nothing that simple exists and i have wasted an hour trying to figure it out. The help button does squat, barely gives you any info on a text box much less trying to delete it. Does anyone know how to delete a text box in a word document?

As I am sure you all know text edit sucks.But it automatically opens all my RTFs.I have to manually get word to open them which is a pain in the ass.How can I fix this so that all RTF's are automatically opened by WORD?I am still on the old version of word because I have to use ENDNOTE - which has no support for Word 2011 right now. Now I just need my Macbook to communicate with the damn thing. I downloaded a huge HP driver package from Apple's website, installed it (took up 700megs of space) but it still doesn't detect the printer when I go into System Preferences to ADD printer. Are there certain steps I have to do or recite some kind of voodoo incantation to get this to work?

View 21 Replies View RelatedHas anybody installed an HP LaserJet 1000? I'm trying to do so onto an iMac, but not having any luck.
Been to the HP website and searched for drivers; they only show Windows drivers available for download. I downloaded some sort of generic program from HP, "HP LaserJet for Mac v5.5.2". It ran and installed some sort of stuff onto my Mac, and the Mac physically recognizes and identifies the LaserJet 1000 by name when I am in >System Preferences >Print and Fax > + ["add printers"], but the "Print Using" dialog box just reads "Please select a driver or printer model".
Auto Select does not work, and if I search through the list of built-in printers in Leopard (...>Print Using: >"Select a driver to use..."), a bunch of HP LaserJet models are listed, starting with the 1010 and incrementing upward. But no HP 1000.
Anybody successfully installed or using the HP LJ 1000?
How does one add an HP LaserJet 4000N to a TimeCapsule based network with systems running 10.7.4? I had it working fine with a PowerPC based iMac; however, although I have the correct driver and have the printer hardwired to the network, it does not appear on the network, e.g., you do not see it in the Add Printer lists.
