MacBook :: How To Make My Macbook Work Harder

I have a 2.0Ghz Macbook (aluminum, 2gb RAM, 140gb HD). I notice there are a lot of apps that I use that are CPU-intensive that, even when it's plugged in, will only use 25% of the CPU's capacity.
When I'm not using any other program, and it's only using 25%, wouldn't that program run 4 times faster if it would just use 100%? It seems pointless to have it sit there 75% idle while I wait that much longer for a function to finish?
Is there a way to allow certain programs to use more power so they run faster?

The macbook pro unibody is a lot harder to click. When I first used it my whole arm was more sore. Now my pointer finger and hand in general is getting more and more sore. My old MacBook was so much easier to click. I am thinking of buying a PC and going the hackintosh route. already do use tap to click, hence my finger hurting. If you try the new unibody next to the old macbook pros, the older ones where a LOT easier to click.

I have my first ever Mac in the form of a 13" MBP! I am trying to rip some DVDs using handbrake. However, when Handbrake has finished scanning the source DVD (commercial DVDs), it only shows 1 title in the drop down title box. I have tried restarting, taking the DVD out and popping it back in again, but with no luck. Has anyone got any ideas what I'm doing wrong? How do I get all titles to show in the drop down title selection box?

Once in a while when I use my 15' MBP 2010 (GeForce 330M) on my bootcamp I experince screen blinking which then my system would say: "Nividia Driver Stopped". Have you guys been experincing this? Is there a way to stop it?

I have a G5 dual 2gig and in idle mode it seems to a be slightly overheating as my fans start to blow harder and I get my mouse sticking I am running the latest version of Tiger with 3.5gigs of ram I did post in the IDvD, Logic Pro, and the Final cut pro forums the impact of an upgrade of 8gig of ram on my system whether my apps would run better and the system as a whole.
But I have not been able to get any feed back on this that was clear and I was asked to try here on this forum so here I am. I deeply love my G5 and what it can do I am just wondering if it is working at its most optimum I do regularly do my house keeping i.e. repairing permission and occasionally using Tech tool Pro to look over the system but nothing out of the ordinary jumps out. I have a screen shot of my activity monitor and cpu monitor but I do not know how to attach it.

I just got a new macbook pro unibody a few weeks ago, and when i go to shutdown the mac, my cursor is stuck for a good 20 or so seconds and then i can finally move it to shut it down. This does not seem normal to me and am wondering if this is an isolated event or it happens to others? Is there a fix for it? Such as a new driver, reinstall, etc.

Just thought I would post this article from when the Safari 4 beta came out and would not work with 1Password. I just did the same thing with the final release of Safari 4 that came out today and it worked just fine. The only thing different is you need to change the value to 5530.17 instead of 5528.16.

There is something that has been bothering me something fierce since I made the switch to the Mac.
When I used Windows I could connect and disconnect USB drives whenever I wanted without fear of losing data. The way Windows works, it's designed for this so you don't have to "eject" the disk every time.
OS X however is different. I have a USB hub, which has at any given time at least 4 drives plugged into it. If I want to say, grab my laptop and head out the door, I have to wake it up, eject all the disks/media cards, and then go.
I find this to be extremely annoying, especially when I forget.
Is there a way to make OS X behave like Windows in this regard?

(I've contacted them 3 times through their Contact Us form, but never received a response; and no, it didn't end up in my Spam folder either - I checked it regularly) I decided to ask my questions here.How to make 1Pass work with Entourage? When I open the latter it will only prompt me to save the password to Mac OS Keychain, but not 1Password. I tried adding an Email Account in 1Password, but it's kind of confusing - what do I enter under "Port number" - is it Incoming port number in the first "Port number" space, and the Outcoming port number in the second "Port number" space? And what do I select under "Authentication method"?? Why are all the forms listed twice anyway?

I have purchased a new Macbook Pro and am at set up stage yet. I can't go further because the pointer is not working when I am clicking. I can't click on "Start using Mac OS X Lion." I have become so frustrated now! Please let me know if I can fix it or I have to return it to apple centre for fixing.

I can't make Photo Stream work. I try to update iPhoto --I have Lion--but it gives me a message "There is a problem with the subscription.

I just bought the Epson WF-2540 on the apple website but It seems it's not supported by mavericks. it's not detecting the USB cable, it's not detecting the scanner... no sign of getting driver updates also...
Is there a way to make it work or do I have to bring it back to an apple store?

I am trying to make a DVD menu system and the footage I have is only 3.9 GB. The menu system works perfects only if I don't add chapters. The minute I add chapters the DVD jumps up to 8.1 GB. Is that normal?Why does DVD studio pro need two tracks to make this stuff work? Can't it just use the footage that "Play" is using? Perhaps I am doing something wrong?

I was trying to make apple wireless keyboard to work with my DELL desktop, but did not succeed. the problem is that when I connect the apple wireless keyboard to my bluetooth adapter, it says I need type some kinda of pass code. I have looked up manual, and there's no pass code all all.
someone said I need to insert leopard disk and install on my PC, would that work? or anyone have experience about it?

i just got a mac, it has OSX. I was messing arround with it and setting up accounts, and i got around to making the admin account. Well i didn't want my sister to have admin (IN retro it doesn't matter), how ever i make my account, and make it a admin. Well as it turns out as i made the account you had to have some "Finger board"? password. and i lacked that. not thinking i shut down the comp for the night.... and then went back in the morning to relise that all i had was a user level account.

3、Open the mac mail，and then create a new mail
then comes my problem，no matter what I type , the address has never show. As I know , the correct result should be:1、Just need to type a few main words in the "sent to" column ,os will search the local addressbook and show the corresponding address for user to choose.

I have a series of short (5 minute) videos that I want to be able to add to a playlist and have them automatically play, one following the other, the same way that a song does. If I have a song playlist, and I tell it to play the first song, it then goes on immediately to play the second song. But with videos, they don't immediately play. I have a playlist full of short videos. Shuffle is on, as well as Repeat All. I'm not sure what button I need to press to make this playlist actually work. How do I do it?

Firefox scrolls very slowly when I'm on a very detailed web page lets say [URL].
It also happens on YouTube when I scroll down to view the comments, it is slow when I scroll through where the video is and it speeds up when at the comments.
