Just thought I would post this article from when the Safari 4 beta came out and would not work with 1Password. I just did the same thing with the final release of Safari 4 that came out today and it worked just fine. The only thing different is you need to change the value to 5530.17 instead of 5528.16.

If your 1Passwords stops working you need to modify the SupportedBrowsers.plist File. This allows 1Password to work with this developer preview version of Safari. This file is located within 1Password App itself so you need to do the following: Right click 1Password and "Show Application Contents" Go to: Contents -> Resources -> SupportedBrowsers.plist Open this file with TextEdit and copy and paste the following(replace all the text in this file): OR Download the attached file and replace it with this version.

I'm running Lion 10.7.3 on my iMac and Macbook Air. I upgrade 1Password to the latest build (3.8.16) on my iMac last week but didn't use safari on it until yesterday when I noticed that Safari just opens blank with a spinning beachball? Not a major problem as I've been using my Air..... but just now when I also upgrade 1Password on the Air, Safari stops working and same issue. Firefox works fine.

What about for my wireless password? To my school education account? My OS X password? Skype? AIM? MSN? Can anyone explain how to do this? I know I could just leave the website field blank, but that seems like a pitiful work around.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am trying to make a DVD menu system and the footage I have is only 3.9 GB. The menu system works perfects only if I don't add chapters. The minute I add chapters the DVD jumps up to 8.1 GB. Is that normal?Why does DVD studio pro need two tracks to make this stuff work? Can't it just use the footage that "Play" is using? However, when Handbrake has finished scanning the source DVD (commercial DVDs), it only shows 1 title in the drop down title box. I have tried restarting, taking the DVD out and popping it back in again, but with no luck. Has anyone got any ideas what I'm doing wrong? How do I get all titles to show in the drop down title selection box?

It also happens on YouTube when I scroll down to view the comments, it is slow when I scroll through where the video is and it speeds up when at the comments.
I'd love to use Safari more, it's so fast and smooth, but whenever I use it's RSS reading function it feels so redundant and dumb, it's like why don't I just go to the blog as I normally do? I love how in Firefox I can just see all the new stories quickly in a drop-down menu and go stright to the ones I want to read right away, is there no way at all to do that in Safari? Or is there some plugin program out there that does that?

That is mainly it, I just want those two features. To me Safari works a heck of a lot better than FireFox. FireFox for me always crashes even when I have no add ons or anything. YouTube is usually slow and it is just better to use Safari to me. Any advice for the above features on Safari?
I decided to try safari 3 again after I got Leopard, I like it except for one thing, some links will open in a new window that in other browsers would open in a new tab. is there any way to make Safari do this by default without having to command click on the links?

View 24 Replies View RelatedI'm finding it slightly annoying that in Safari 5.0, whenever I hit CMD+T to open a new tab, my cursor automatically starts in the google search box on the web page, and not in the address bar. Not only that, but I can't simply hit SHIFT-TAB to go backwards to the address bar.
I'm a designer, so I'm constantly using shortcuts, not only in my design programs, but also in Safari, iTunes, etc. It would be nice to see a fix for this, so I can keep my hands on the keyboard, and off of my mouse.

View 11 Replies View RelatedFirefox' site rendering is much more fluid than Safari's. Safari loads the BACKGROUND again and again with each click completely upsetting the eye. Firefox has the background steadily black as it is and loads the randomized image properly without any kind of irritation.Is there a way to make Safari load pages more efficiently like Firefox?Or is it just a rendering of all WebKit browsers that behaves like that?

I'm so pleased that Inquisitor is now available for Safari 4 - but it doesn't seem to work.
When search all I get is three suggestions rather than websites (even though this is selected under preferences).
Since I upgraded to SL and Safari 4, when I click on a download link a new window opens up with nothing in it and the download does start. I have to right click and hit Download file.

I'd like to set up Safari so that when I click the green "Maximize" button on the top left, the Safari window goes to a certain size and when I click it again, it goes to another size. View 7 Replies View RelatedI just noticed that when I start to type a URL in the URL field in Safari 5, it behaves differently than before. For example, before, if I typed "app" in the URL field and hit enter, it would automatically fill in "[URL:..] and load the site. That's because Apple's site was the only site in my bookmark list that started with "app". Now when I type "app", it fills in [URL:..] instead, because that site's DESCRIPTIVE TEXT begins "Apple, Macintosh...". So now, it assumes the letters I type in the URL bar are to help me find a site based on the "descriptive" text, instead of the actual URL text. I really hate this new behavior. I looked for an option or preference to change, but found nothing. Any of you know how to revert this behavior, or if it is even possible to do so?

I believe read Dropbox stores all files encrypted, but that MobileMe does not encrypt them. Is that correct? But since the 1password keychain is already encrypted it's not necessary to have it stored encrypted like on Dropbox??
