Apr 13, 2012i bought a song on itunes the other day and i realized that only the beginning half of the song will play and then it will stop for the other half and no sound will be coming out but it will still be playiny. how do i get a refund or how can i redownload the song on itunes?

I copy "Classical Chillout" compilation album to itunes. 30 songs show up, each with their own (new) artist name, song name, and all within the album "Classical Chillout.
Instead of having:
SONG Adagio for Strings
ARTIST Samuel Barber
ALBUM Classical Chillout
I want to batch rename all songs so that the Album name becomes the Artist and each "Artist" name is inserted into the "Song" name
SONG Samuel Barber- Adagio for Strings
ARTIST Classical Chillout
ALBUM Classical Chillout

Dec 2, 2010I know you can use iTunes dj to "play song next" or whatever but I don't like iTunes DJ for the fact that you don't have 100% control over what songs are playing if you want to pinpoint certain songs, etc..
Is there any way that I can line up a song to play after the current song without interrupting the current song and immediately playing the song I want next?

May 31, 2012This is SO frustrating. I bring in my new iMac for the techs to move my iTunes over, I bring it home and have not been able to listen to one song. I double click on it and it says "Cannot find file, locate?" I say yes, it brings me to the album artwork. Dec 11, 2008I have a decent size music library(40+gig) on my late MB and i find that iTunes is slow to load when I open it and sometimes when im clicking around songs there is a half second pause before the song is highlighted and then starts to play. Since the program is pulling the info off the HD im thinking that if i got a higher capacity 7200 rpm drive that this would help (currently my stock 150gig only has 50gigs left) with this stutter or would upgrading to 4gig ram?

Feb 1, 2012I want to create a disk image of a Mac drive (.dmg file).I figured that it might not be a good idea to try and image a live disk, so I unmounted it (the user dragged the disk icon to the eject icon), and I confirmed it was unmounted by looking at /Volumes. To be clear here, this isn't the boot volume, that is /dev/disk0./dev/disk1 is an internal drive - as it happens it's the original drive for this OSX 10.4 G5, AND /Volumes/HITACHI is the mount point for an external USB drive.I have tried this twice.On both occassions, things seemed to go well, but after a few minutes (about 10 - 20 minutes), I observed that the target file on /Volumes/HITACHI stopped growing, then a bunch of unpleasant stuff started to happen:
* I did lsof /Volumes/HITACHI/MacHD_20120201.dmg and found the PID of the diskimage binary, ps waux showed it was doing nothing (CPU% was 0.0). This indicates a stuck process to me.
* The hdutil command stopped producing '.'
* I could not cancel the hduitl command
* I could not rm the MacHD_20120201.dmg file
* I could not ls the /Volumes/HITACHI directory
* unlink also hung
A little further into this, the Mac became unresponsive. I observed that the disk was now mounted again (grrr!). As a work around I switched the USB drive off and on, and Mac came good - all my terminals started to respond, the GUI responded for the user.My workaround has been to use CCC to make a clone of the disk - but I don't like this because I think .dmg files are much more convenient (for a start, now that I've used CCC I can't use the USB drive for anything else).
* Is my methodology wrong? Do I really need to umount the /dev/disk1
* Can you disable finder from automounting an internal hard drive (I am particularly interested in this)Â

Mac's can't run -bat files created on a windows desktop. If I would o create a new one on a mac would the commands be different than the ones from windows? And to create a .bat file you need a .txt file. But you can't create that with TextEdit. What app to use?
MacBook Pro :: How To Create A Clonezilla USB Key
Mar 14, 2012I've created in the past a clonezilla USB key for taking block level backup of my mac-mini and it works just fine to this day.
But today I tried to use the same USB key with my new MacBook Pro (it run Lion) and the USB doesn't appear even as an option to boot from when I press the option/alt key. Has anyone managed to successfully create and boot from a USB key of Clonezilla?
What are the steps you used? and which iso image did you use of clonezilla with your macbook pro + lion?
I would suspect it's an EFI problem because I don't even see the USB as a viable bootable device. The USB key was repartitioned as a GPT 1-partition HFS+ disk, and then I followed that by the hdiutil command to convert the .iso image of the clonezilla cd to a .dmg file, and then used the dd command to copy it to the USB key.
tried two different .iso images... nothing worked for me with this mac book pro....Â

Jul 26, 2009I recently downloaded Get Tube and would like to be able to have a song in mp3 format off You Tube. The problem I am having is finding where the song goes after I download it off Get Tube. I went into preferences and selected the song to go into my users/name/downloads but when I look in there after the song is done, it is not there. In fact, it is no place to be found. Apr 6, 2012I replaced an older lesser quality mp3 with a higher quality version by replacing the original file. I've done this hundreds of times without a problem. I'm using 10.6.1, and when I replaced a song in this manner yesterday, I am unable to click on the end of the timeline of the song. It will only advance to the :35 second mark left in the song. Fast forwarding through the song also stops at the same point. It refuses to advance beyond that :35 left mark except by letting it play normally. I know the new file advances fine in iTunes if I drag it into iTunes and create a duplicate version.Is there some metadata from the old file that is causing iTunes to think the new file ends early because it is a few megs larger? Can this be cleared by a method other than reimporing the song new? I'd like to keep the Date Added, Ratings, and Play count info.
