I have a MacBook Air and I want to stop my photos from showing up in the Allfiles in the Finder. I have saved them to a file in iPhoto and yet they still show up in Allfiles and not in Allfiles in the folder that was created for them! What can I do to stop this from happening.

My computer stop responding so I had to force restart finder. Now my active programs indicator is not working. How do I get it to work again? I have tried shutting down my computer and that didn't work. I deleted and re-copied over the files, but that didn't work either.

I am new around here, but have been using a mac for quite a while.
This morning, I decided to do some Spring cleaning on my Mac,and found a bunch of strange files, that were screenshots of webpages that I visited. I don't take screen shots, and these little things add up to a lot of space pretty quick. They all had long names too. I want to make sure they do not come back, so if anyone knows what I had, let me know how to stop them!
i copied a user folder from my old windows machine it was a ntfs hard dive to my dekstop. I can see the folder structure and the folder took a while to copy over but there are not files in the folders. They seem to be hidden?

The search results I am getting do not include all the files that meet my search criteria. For example, I am looking through photo files for any files with "34" in the name. Some files show up, but not all of them. See screenshot. I am searching in the "Branded Photoshoot" folder, and I am getting some results (Branded Photoshoot/Hilton Universal/IMG_1434), but another file that is in folder, though a different subfolder, (Branded Photoshoot/Architectural Center/IMG_1534) is NOT showing up. What is causing that subfolder and its files to not be included in the search results?

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy blue 1TB external WD Passport Drive (whose name is Ralph and who holds all kinds of precious things that I love and can't lose) isn't showing up on my Finder screen. Whenever I connect him, his light turns up and blinks as usual, but I can't access anything on him. I don't even get an error message when I disconnect him without ejecting. I've tried using different USB ports and different cables, but it's not working. I've also tried connecting him to different computers (3 different macs and 1 Windows 8 PC), but NOTHING.Â
I've been trying everything the past few days to get him to work. He shows up on Disk Utility occasionally. I've tried verifying and repairing him through Disk Utility, but it says that the verification could not be completed, or that it can't repair him. It tells me to back up as many files as I can and then restore him, but I can't access the files to back them up in the first place. Also, the partition name seems to have changed to 'disk1s3', which appears greyed out on the Disk Utility screen.Â
In regards to mount point, it says that the disk isn't mounted. I tried mounting it by right-clicking it on Disk Utility, but the mount failed. I tried restoring him onto another 1TB WD drive (Oscar), but that failed too.
I know by the title you may be saying... here comes yet another post on iPhoto. But I have a suspicion it is much more than that. thus the post in the OSX category.Here is the short version...
I use to have a MacBook Pro (17" if that matters) with OSX 10.5 on it. Back in August '08 I bought a iMac (24") because I had to give the MacBook Back. When I set up the iMac I did the install that allows you to transfer your settings and files to your new computer before I erased everything on the MacBook.Some how I lost a bunch of Pictures I took and had on the MacBook. I just can't find them... i didn't have iPhoto on the MacBook but do on the iMac.
I thought I had lost the photos until one day I pointed the screen saver to my photo folder. Now I can see my photos in the screen saver slide show... but can not see them in iPhoto or in the Photo Folder.I have hope that they are somewhere on my computer but where and how can I get them into iPhoto?
Whenever I try to delete a photo from iphoto it comes up again when I re-open iphoto but as a grey square with a white dotted line. Even though I empty the iphoto trash and my macbook trash. How do I get rid of these pictures completly?

I had an image from an older macbook (10.5.4) and I put it in a newer MacBook which I assume was could not boot as far back as 10.5.4, so I updated it by booting 10.5.6 on an external and running the combo 10.5.7 update on the MacBook's internal drive. I boot and after staying on a blue screen for a while, it goes black and shows me a command prompt and I can see all the processes starting up. then it goes back to blue and works normally. On shutdown, I see the prompt again. I cannot boot into safe mode or single user mode for some reason. When holding down the s and shift it still does the same thing. I can however still use option to boot from a different drive.
The computer runs perfectly normally once booted. I just don't want to see the command line stuff. So is there some way to stop it, or hide it?
so I just booted up my MBP, and I got this message that said that an application called srserviceagent, which is not in my applications, quit unexpectedly. I hit ignore, and the message just popped up again five seconds later. I did this multiple times, before just deciding to click relaunch. Well, all this does is immediately bring the message back up. So I hit report, in which it said that the report couldnt be sent. I have force quit, restarted and shut down already.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get pictures off an SD card that I have in a card reader, plugged into the USB port. I'm not finding an icon for this anywhere! I've tried 2 card readers, as well as plugging my camera right into the USB port, and none of them show up! It was working just find 2 days ago, and now it's not. The USB port shows up in System Profiler, but not in Disk Utility.Â

My external WD 320GB hard drive wont show up on Finder when I connect it up. Ive been having this problem ever since I pulled it out without ejecting it - I know thats bad but my macbook froze and I had no choice.Â
Now my external hard drive wont show up on Finder, I even tried disk utility and I was able to verify the disk & then repair it, but its like I cant use the hard drive anymore. Every time I try to add files to it or remove files my laptop freezes and I cant do anything.Â
Its got to the point where all I want to do now is get all my files off this external hard drive somewhow, Is there a way to get my files off this hard drive before its too late if isnt already so.Â

I seem to having a problem with Photo Booth thats kinda weird. I take pictures with Photo Booth, but once they are taken they dont show up in the little row on the bottom. They are in the folder in Finder, but they don't show up so I can view them in-program. Just an odd thing I thought I would see if anyone has a fix for.Nothing major, just a minor annoyance.

The odd thing is the photo albums are on my iPad and iPhone with all of the photos. I have tried signing out of iCloud and that did nothing.

I want to have all my photos show up in my iPhoto library. They always did. However, a few weeks ago (while traveling and adding a lot of photos), I began to not see all my photos in my library. In fact, when I look at "Events" there are greyed out boxes that have the date photos were taken, it indicates that there are 0 photos, and there is a shades-of-grey icon that has a palm tree and horizon. I had never seen this before. Some of my photos from my travel ended up in my library just fine. Others are in limbo. I found the others in My Photo Stream, but I can't figure out how to add them to the library, where they belong.Â
When I show Package Contents from Home>Pictures>iPhoto Library, all the pictures are there. They are just not showing up in iPhoto. I have quit and restarted iPhoto. Do you think my iPhoto app is corrupt?Â
I am a new Mac user (had my macbook for 2 weeks, loving it, but still learning how to use it). I am really annoyed by Preview app. Anytime I save a photo in my Download folder, it automatically opens it with Preview, whether I want it or not. I'm doing a picture book for the first time. All has been going well until I found some pictures that are in my library, but do not show up in the picture bar when adding pictures to the photobook. Seems that they just stop at a certain point almost like I've filled a capacity of some kind.
