View 12 RepliesWhat I mean by essentials are things to get for my MacBook Pro that I should definitely get now. Obviously, I would get a sleeve and possible bag for it but anything specific that is a definite buy.I am getting a 24" monitor to go with this as well so I am obviously planning on purchasing the keyboard and mouse and one of the writing pads like Bamboo.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI got a good deal on a MBA rev B ($980 total), which I'm really happy with. The only accessory bought was a case.
From your experiences do you guys recommend that I get the super drive (=10% of MBA cost), the extended Apple Care (=20% of MBA cost), or maybe another accessory I'm not mentioning?
I'm just not sure if they're worth the extra cost.
I mean obviously a bag is necessary to carry it around but which accessories do you use besides laptop cases, bags? Is a keyboard protector, screen protector, stand, cooler, graphic vinyls etc... necessary? There are plenty more accessories. Which ones do you use and think is a must?

View 6 Replies View RelatedFirst forum post, and my question: what items would you recommend for a Mac newbie or returnee thinking of buying a 64gb 11" MBA? Software that is small in size, free or cheap but very useful (esp. utilities, productivity, games and music/video). Accessories that are small, light, and a good value. I am particularly interested if the Apple Superdrive is the best out there for the money, and multipurpose usb/sd hubs.Another way of looking at it is, if you were buying a 4gb/64gb Air for a friend and had $200 to outfit it, what would be essential enough for you to include?
View 1 Replies View Relatedmy mac seems to be slower as the days go by. on the start up screen when i first got it i can type in my password and when it goes to my desktop the macintosh hd icon is already there and the tool bar at the top with the battery and time is already there too. but now when i log in it seems to take time to load the macintosh icon and the tool bar. i also bought AirPort Express the little accessory that plugs into the wall and lets you get wi fi off of and wireless air tunes and printing.

Buying the new base Mini this weekend and want to connect it to my 1080ptv. I plan on doing so via HDMI (so I need a DVI adapter?) and audio through a TosLink cable. Can someone please link me what accessories I would need to buy from Monoprice so I can have everything ready when my new baby comes home?

tly in the process of buying a mac, and I just wanted to know if there are any accessories out there that I should know of, but don't.
The mac I'm buying is either the new MBA 13 with 2.13 GHz and 4 Gb (I have to consider if I want to use so much on a computer) or a base MBP 13.
Post your favorite G5 & Mac Pro Accessories! I just came across this!

Ever see the clear replacement door for the G5? Not the clear air deflector, but an actual replacement door that is clear. Anyone know where to find it?
Im using macbook. I would like to connect my macbook with TV for watch all my photos and videos.
Please let us know, what are necessary accessories required so i will decide for purchase
I've been reading this site for a while now, first time I'm posting. I recently purchased 8 GB of RAM for my 2010 13" MBP. There are two 4 GB DDR3 PC3-10500 1333mhz sticks. When I install them in the laptop my computer does not get past the apple logo boot screen (the spinning disc freezes). However, I can boot into Windows (boot camp) without issues.
Also, when I pair either of the 4 GB sticks with one of my old 2 GB stock sticks the laptop boots up fine in OS X. The system profiler registers it as 6 GB of 1067 mhz RAM (the stock sticks are 1067 mhz)
I bought a MBP and now want to create a office setup where I could use larger monitor, an external keyboard, and mouse for using the same MBP.
1. How to do this setup ? Is hooking an external monitor to DVI port to MBP good enough ? Can I use usb keyboard and mouse to connect to MBP ? Anything else ?
Can you please share your setup and anything that I should take care of.
What's a good place to buy these accessories ?
I was wondering if ipod touch and iphone accessories work with the new ipad.Things like 3.5mm headsets, usb wall and car chargers, microphones, etc. Basically everything that plugs into your ipod and iphone.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had so far been using it with screen brightness level set at 7 bars out of 16.But, since the past few days, I've noticed that 7 bars is too dark. I have to set the level at 9 or 10 bars to feel comfortable.Nothing else in the MBP settings or the environment have changed. I don't use any of the auto dimming features.I'm wondering whether it's the MBP or my eyes that are deteriorating.Has anyone experienced or heard of gradual dimming of MBP screens over time? Can anyone suggest causes for dimming?
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhenever I lift up my Macbook Pro on a tilt angle the screen falls backwards. Does this happen to you? I hold it on an angle and the screen just falls back. Obviously this only happens if the screen is not completely back in the first place.
View 3 Replies View Related(Electricity as in AC power.) I've been using the brightness controls (F keys) to turn off the screen at night and leave my computer running. I just assumed it uses less AC power that way and I'm saving some electricity but I don't know a lot about electricals to confirm my theory. Does anyone know?

View 7 Replies View RelatedIm new to these forums. I have just (5 months) purchased a new Macbook pro. I have upgraded the RAM to 4GB, but only recently since ive been in Canada (1 month) experienced this problem. The screen goes grey once a day and the computer asks me to restart the system. I believe its called a Kernal Panic. Ive read on other places that it might be caused by recently installed apps. But i have got rid of these and now nothing has changed! I havnt got my Install CD on me therefore cannot run a reboot. Im not sure if the issues are related but the Mac also kicks me out and makes me log in again. this doesnt happen as frequently but is still concerning and rather frustrating.

I don't know if it depends by a latest update I did to Itunes but after an uncertain amount of time my MacBook Pro 2.2Ghz Santa Rosa start to flicker. I have posted a video in youtube [URL] so you can see what happend. For a small amount of time while flickering is started the mouse can move around then it stuck and lock me out of the system. I have to reset many time PVRAM and SMC then it will restart until it lock it down again. It worked flawlessly until yesterday after if I don't remember wrong one or more software update. I use Snow Leopard (official licence). I downloaded the Combo Update for Snow Leopard and ran it. I still have to test it again. Since I need to do some work in the next 48 hours I can't full test it. After the hard reset an image pop out and It won't let me start up the system again ever if I reset many times PVRAM and SMC Then I use bootcamp to "unlock" the MBP. I do run windows under BootCamp. It will run but I can't see anything since the video remain black (I hear the HDD until stop working) Then I push the power down button and I turn off the windows Then after a long time it will log into Snow Leopard! I'm getting crazy the last two days
View 24 Replies View RelatedI am hoping someone can offer some advice/help on a fresh issue happening with my Macbook (late 2007; OS 10.5.8; 2.2Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo; 1GB memory).ll darkened/shaded areas on my display are lined in little red pixelations. It's especially bad in colored screen images/photos and the worst in videos (ie Youtube).I noticed the issue about 3 days ago (5/14), and attempted to do some different software updates. Nothing. I'm really lost. The tech guy at work (not a mac guy) said it could either be a video card problem or the display is failing. I know very little about these things, but I do know the computer is out of warranty.

View 1 Replies View Relatedif anyone else is having problems with their unibody Macbook pro screen getting washed out after a while - especially if the computer has been put into and woken from sleep. I run a 24 inch dell monitor along side my MBP in dual monitor mode, the MBP the slave monitor, with the Dell the main monitor. After a while of use, approx 2 hours, the macbook pro screen fades out/appears washed out. It seems to settle after either a restart or dimming the MBP screen to black for a few minutes. My MBP is not on a cooling stand but I'm going to get one Is this a heat thing, a firmware thing or a defective hardware? I'm running 10.5.6 and have updated the firmware/efi as per apple updates.
