Sitting in front of my old an trusty G4 dual 1 gHz "quicksilver" desktop computer, and I was web browsing, and reading a thread, and wanted to go back to the previous page and got my 3 fingers into position above my keyboard..... when I realized I was sitting at my desktop computer. Now, THAT is conditioning ! Anyone else have these moments? Anyone else as into their MBA's as me?
View 6 RepliesI'm very satisfied with snow leopard, but with one qualm: I noticed that apple changed SOMETHING with the way expose works with gestures. Back in leopard, when I swiped four fingers down, it would expos�, and four fingers up = show desktop. However this doesn't appear to be the case in snow leopard. When I swipe four fingers down, it often shows my desktop instead of going into expos�. I have to swipe my fingers up and down a few times to get it to go into expos� correctly. It's really odd and I don't understand why it's doing this. Could it be related to the fact that I have my upper right corner set to show desktop?

The 3 tech support guys I went through, were all clueless to what was wrong, they checked firmware, software etc... nothing wrong but the four finger swipe was not on my MBA 2.0
So I am getting a replacement, unfortunately now I have to wait again.. Anyone else with this problem ?

Expose works really well, but I'm not too fond about the four finger left/right gestures. I have spaces set up, and I'd rather use the four finger gestures for left and right swipes to switch between spaces. I can't find a way to do this in the system prefs - is there some type of work-around to getting this to work?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just switched from firefox to Safari 4. In firefox, if I swiped down with three fingers it would go automatically to the bottom of the page, and if I swiped up it would go to the top.
Is there anyway I can do this in Safari 4? I really miss this function.
So recently I have noticed that my three finger swipe and rotating gestures are not working. I have checked the preference pane and they are turned on. Is there some other setting that I am missing?

I recently purchased a macbook pro and noticed that the scrolling on the iPhone and Macbook occur in the opposite direction when scrolling from top to bottom and it's driving me crazy. I'm looking for a way to change the direction that the window moves when using the two finger swipe on my macbook pro.
When scrolling though web pages on the iPhone, sliding your finger from the top of the phone to the bottom displays text above the current viewing window. In other words, if I place my finger over a word and move my finger up or down my finger is still on top of the word when I'm done scrolling. Scrolling on the track pad of my macbook pro works in the opposite direction. On the macbook when I swipe two fingers from the top to the bottom of the track pad the text above the current window is shown. If I put my cursor over a word and two finger swipe the word moves in the opposite direction as my fingers. I would like to change this behavior so that scrolling occurs in the same manner that it does on the iPhone.
Running Snow Leopard on Macbook Pro 13" with 4 gig ram 2.26 processor. When i go to four finger swipe down it pulls the windows all up like it's supposed to for about a second then pushes them all off to reveal desktop. same goes for using mighty mouse Also to get the windows back to normal on the screen i need to click off to the side of them.

When I try to swipe four fingers up to get to my desktop it doesn't work. When I try to go back a page in safari by swiping three fingers to the left it wont go back. But when I use two fingers to scroll up and down pages that works just fine. I haven't taken it to an apple store due to I am stuck at college and there isn't one around.

Although, my single request probably wont do much, maybe others have and I'm contributing. View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my Magic Mouse since last thursday (29th Oct) and i've noticed the 2 finger swipe gesture no longer actually functions. I'm trying it in Safari (with history available to swipe through) and its definately enabled in the system preferences.
Instead of doing the swipe gesture it now just scrolls left and right. Its also not a case of positioning my fingers wrong as it used to work around 2 days ago and now it definitely no longer works.
I'm going to re-pair it a few times and replace the batteries but if it doesnt magically come back I will be replacing it.Just curious if anyone else who has had their magic mouse for this long has lost this gesture too?
Magic Mouse has this ballyhooed two-finger swipe feature that (in any browser, apparently - I use Chrome) lets you go back and forth on a page. That's great, except I rarely need to go back or forth; switching tabs, however, is way more useful. Is there a way to set up the mouse to do that instead?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI think this is a recent problem, but it could be a problem that I have only noticed recently. This is on a 2011 MacBook Air.
Whenever I switch back to the desktop from a fullscreen app there is a half second delay before the wallpaper appears.
When I use a three finger swipe out of the desktop, the wallpaper disappears immediately. When swiping between two fullscreen apps (mail and itunes, for example), you can basically see half of each app as you swipe, but this isn't the case with the desktop, it disappears to the patterned grey.
The menu bar does remain there, and when set to translucent always shows the background. I have tried this with a number of wallpapers including the default and solid colours.
If this is unclear I can try to upload a screenshot.
If this is common, then so be it, but for some reason I believe this worked differently. Searching came up with nothing but I may be searching for the wrong thing.

I was wondering if anyone knew how to change the 4 finger gestures built into OSX? I've looked around and found no way to override them. If nobody is knows directly how to accomplish this I'd also be interested in knowing what libraries the handlers may reside in so I can poke around and try and do it myself.
I'm also interested in trying to find a way to make 3 finger tap do a middle click. Or something along those lines.

Ok well some people thought it was starting to look too generic, which I can agree with. I've tried a new approach, slightly. Some problems with the port placements have stopped me for the moment, but I'll tackle this sometime soon and see if I can work them out.

I just got a new MBP i7, and whenever the graphics switch from the Nvidia 330m chip to the Intel chip, the screen "flickers" black for a short moment before reappearing. Can anyone with a new MBP comment on this behavior? It doesn't happen on the switch from Intel->Nvidia, just the other way around.

While performing normal operations on my computer (email, internet, etc) my computer will freeze for a moment, go to a blue screen, then completely log out without warning, and go to the log in screen. This is the crash report that is created. Can anyone let me know what's going on?

I have a mid-2009 13 inch mbp and I have been having problems with 2 finger swiping on the trackpad. When I use two finger swipe up/down for scrolling through websites in Safari, it also does Expose as if I am using 4 fingers. This only happens when I try to scroll through a page fast.
