It can scroll up and down, but it doesn't work for the 2-finger swipe to navigate left or right? Can anyone help me with this please? I have 40% battery left, dunno if it's the battery thing.
View 2 RepliesMy Magic Mouse has suddenly stopped allowing the swipe to navigate feature despite being enabled. I can't believe that it's broken after only a couple of weeks of ownership, yet on the other hand I've never owned an expensive mouse that hasn't been trouble.
Anyway, all of the other features seem to be working and the mouse hasn't had a 'hard life' at all. Does anyone have any possible fixes for this or advice?
I just upgraded my hard drive, now my trackpad and bluetooth mouse will not scroll or swipe. Preferences for the trackpad will not open says theres an error, bluetooth mouse preferences open with no joy
View 7 Replies View RelatedCompletely out of no where my Magic Mouse decided to stop swiping. I toggled the two-finger swipe off then back on in sys prefs, turned the mouse off then back on, verified all software up to date, even rebooted. nothing.
All of a sudden the swipe to navigate does not work on my macbook pro. I looked in preferences and it is checked to be on. The only thing that I think might conflict it would be jItouch but even with that off it doesn't work. I do have a bamboo tablet hooked up as well as the apple full keyboard but these have never caused any kind of conflict b4.
View 2 Replies View RelatedClicking with the left and right mouse buttons doesn't seem to be working properly. I first realised this when a message box warning me of low disk space popped up and I couldn't click on OK. Scrolling with the ball works, as does clicking with it. I restarted my iMac and removed the batteries from the mouse for a minute, but all that happened was that left and right clicks started acting like middle clicks. A wired mighty mouse works fine. I've tried cleaning it by turning it upside down and rubbing the ball on paper and a clean damp cloth, no change.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI got a Magic Mouse for Christmas this morning and set up with my Macbook Pro. The setup went quickly and well. I was able to move the cursor around my screen with the Magic Mouse.
However, the click buttons don't work. I have tried left and right clicking and nothing happens.
Is there a problem with my mouse or did I miss something in the setup?
Occasionally after waking from sleep, there's no response when I try to use the left button on the mouse, or the equivalent on the trackpad. Everything else seems normal. The cursor moves OK, and the right button actions do still work.

Just purchased a Magic Mouse to use with my Macbook Pro. When I left click on a Bookmarked Website in Safari it does not open the website it gives me the option to rename the website. Very frustrating. I have to either click on the screen shot above the bookmarks or I have to right click and choose open.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIf i search a file in finder and then i want to see what folder and go to that folder how do you do that? In windows you can click the drop down button that shows the entire directory path but there doesnt seem to be any similar function in the finder window. You can click the back button to go back up the tree if you got there by navigating down but if you went directly to the file form a search there doesnt seem to be any way to go up the path.

It just randomly freezes, cutting off all ability to navigate the desktop.Re-booting the system resolves the problem, but leaves me with a lot of lost work.SOMETIMES taking out and putting back in the batteries resolves the problems, but not often.The kayboard continues to work, so it doesn't seem to be a bluetooth issue.

I've just bought a new Magic mouse for my Macbook Pro and although I've paired it using the Mouse preference pane I cannot get the scroll, swipe etc functions to work just the basic pointer and and click functions. I've run system updater and everything is up-to date - what am I doing wrong? I cannot get the options to configure it to even appear.

On my new MBP I can with 4 fingers swipe downward to cascade all of the open window or swipe up to go to an open desktop. I love this feature and I hope that this mouse can/will do this.

I have a problem with my magic mouse (imac 27'' C2D) because the 2-fingers swipe feature has stopped working.What can I do now ? Can I reinstall the mouse software ?

I just did a restart. I have done them several times before with no problem. This time I lost the swipe function on my mouse. Everything else works. If I right click and click "back", that works. My battery is ok. My IMAC is only 60 days old.

I've had my Magic Mouse since last thursday (29th Oct) and i've noticed the 2 finger swipe gesture no longer actually functions. I'm trying it in Safari (with history available to swipe through) and its definately enabled in the system preferences.
Instead of doing the swipe gesture it now just scrolls left and right. Its also not a case of positioning my fingers wrong as it used to work around 2 days ago and now it definitely no longer works.
I'm going to re-pair it a few times and replace the batteries but if it doesnt magically come back I will be replacing it.Just curious if anyone else who has had their magic mouse for this long has lost this gesture too?
Magic Mouse has this ballyhooed two-finger swipe feature that (in any browser, apparently - I use Chrome) lets you go back and forth on a page. That's great, except I rarely need to go back or forth; switching tabs, however, is way more useful. Is there a way to set up the mouse to do that instead?

I use a Bluetooth Mighty Mouse and everything is fine... until my hourly wireless Time Machine backup starts. Then the mouse cursor becomes very choppy and sluggish. As soon as the hourly backup completes, the mouse's responsiveness returns to normal. Throughout all this, the trackpad is just as responsive as always -- no change there. I don't have another bluetooth mouse to see if its just the Mighty Mouse.
When this happens, the Activity Monitor is not spiked. The fans aren't running loud (so I don't expect its an overheating issue). This doesn't happen during a large wireless download -- just Time Machine. It's not a big deal, but rather an annoyance.
Any ideas why? Or even more to the point, any ideas on how to fix it?
I know mighty mouse might be the perfect mouse for iMac. But is it too big for MacBook pro 13" and downgrade portablity? Should I buy bluetooth mighty Mouse for my new MacBook pro 13" or go for those smaller, lighter and cheaper bluetooth mouse from logitech/Microsoft? Besides, does bluetooth mouse work while using iPhone tethering over bluetooth?

I'm left handed, yet I have grown up with right handed mice and it feels awkward to use a mouse in my left hand now. I had the casual problem with the trackball but i used to rub it on a clean peace of paper and it was fixed. When i done this today it won't right or left click. All it does is open the dashboard which this is the middle button. When i set off the middle button it can left click but not right. What the heck is going on? What should i do? Can it be fixed or do i need to go on an Apple Store and get a new one? God i hate this mouse. By rubbing it on a paper, the trackball is now scratched. Will this affect my warranty?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI can't type a capital w (i.e. "W") by holding down my left shift and the "w" key.
If I hold down the right shift key, it works fine. Lower case w works fine. Any other capital letter using the left shift also works.
So it's only the left shift and "w" combination that seems not to work.
Bizarro world, but VERY frustrating.
I borrowed another apple keyboard and the same thing happens - so it would appear to be a software problem.
I'm trying to get my wired mighty mouse working to my satisfaction but it wants to left click if I touch the mouse anywhere as far back as the apple logo. Thats a little far back for a left click so I'm doing it when I don't want to. Btw, I made the left button my primary button coming from a windows PC background. Also how to I reset everything in the mouse settings, I've changed alot of things.

After using it last night and playing around with the features, I noticed the scroll ball wouldn't scroll to the left for the most part. Occasionally, if i pushed on the ball, it sometimes would move a bit, but not at the level of ease it scrolled right or up/down. Today, I returned it and got a replacement. I am experiencing the same problem, only with scrolling left. I have read about scrolling issues after use, but not right out of the box.
