As you know IE is gone. Is there anything I can do to open this site with out using IE. I tried Safari, Mozilla...

Also when I had IE for OSX it didn't work the way it should. What other choices do I have besides using a PC?
I have a Windows Desktop PC, Windows Laptop and an iMac plus Macbook Pro, on the desktop pc Safari will not open [URL], yet on my Windows Laptop it will! Both are the same version of Safari, I have uninstalled and re installed Safari with no joy.
Does anyone know how to do a clean uninstall of Safari on Windows, because I think that may solve it.
I tried in Safari and Mozilla and I can't seem to open a link on this website and I know I can open it with no problem on my PC. the website is [URL]... and I can navigate to that site, but when I click on any of the links like education, it says "you have chosen to open index.php file, what should mozilla do with this file?". I want to tell it to open it up so I can see it, but we don't seem to speak the same language.

I have a 4.1 Macbook, and in Safari developer 4 or Firefox 3, I can't open the website. I am connected through an ethernet cable, and it previously worked. It either doesn't load or it forwards me to "cjb.net." It doesn't work in Parallels Mozilla or IE either on ethernet. But in bootcamp, it works. The site also works on my Mac side when I'm connected through airport wireless. Why doesn't it work in ethernet only on the Mac side?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am at a loss with Google. What I want to know is how do I open a webpage using Terminal? I am doing a lot with Terminal at the moment and was wondering if it is possible. A Ubuntu forums website listed the command as: Insert browser of choice here "URL". I have tried this and I simply get the message: bash: safari: command not found. Am I missing a command before the browser?

Is this a known Safari problem (Firefox and Opera open the blog) and if so is there a solution to correct this ? I use an iMac running on Lion.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a website that I need to open with Safari as it won't display properly in Firefox 3.6.3. From the Address Bar in Safari, I dragged a link to my desktop, right-clicked and checked it to always open with Safari. The name of the link is something like "PITA.webloc"
When it opens that first time, it dose open in Safari, but subsequently, always opens in FF. I also right-clicked to "Get Info" and indicated it to always open with Safari. While "Get Info" shows that correctly, it still always opens in FF.
I am unable to view the entire screen of any open website/email without having to scroll up/down/right or left.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI went on a website only to noticed the black lines & columns on the page, especially at the bottom, gives off a noticeable flicker on my 13'' MBA.
Obviously with the issues of MBA screens, I'd like to check with you if the same thing occurs on yours? I'm finding it very worrisome that my screen could be faulty.

Leave it for a 10 secs and the black lines flicker quite noticeably on mine ( I have click to flash installed & you tube 5 extensions.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am unable to access a medical website I go to for diabetes monitoring. I have had this problem before. When I access the site the java icon displays and is cycling, then times out. I checked for Macbook updates last evening and installed updates. I searched for Java for Mac 10.6 and installed that. Tonight I figured out how to clear my java cache. Still cannot access the site. I've spent probably 6 hours trying to figure this out - no luck. I had exact same issue in November and was able to fix it by reinstalling Java.

I work IT and recently switched a user from a PC laptop to a 13" MBP.
When at home our users connect to our VPN in order to access particular work websites. For some reason though this user is unable to browse to one particular work site from her MacBook. When she types in the address she gets taken to a generic D-Link page saying that the web address cannot be found.
I know she's connected to our VPN when trying on the Macbook because she sent me a screen cap of our intranet site. But for some reason the MacBook and her dlink router are just not getting along.
The reason I say this is for two reasons...
1) I gave her back her old PC laptop to test, just got an email from her saying she was able to access the site with no problem.
2) I took her MacBook home with me this weekend, fired up the VPN and successfully browsed to the site. I currently have like 200 other Mac users and none of them have had this issue.
Is ther anything in OSX 10.6.8 that can be set to allow or limit router traffic? Since the PC has no problems accessing the site I have to assume that it's a setting on the Mac.

I have registered a domain (Let us say MyDomain.Com) with some web hosting registrar. I feel, my domain registrar is asking for huge money for hosting my website and giving email IDs and content holding. Can I make my MacBook Pro as a server for my webpage? Can I configure a mailserver so that Apple Mail App is my default mail client and I can create email IDs like [URL]
