Applications :: Possible To Open Website Without Using IE?
Mar 16, 2006
As you know IE is gone. Is there anything I can do to open this site with out using IE. I tried Safari, Mozilla...
http://www.mlsstratus.com/
Also when I had IE for OSX it didn't work the way it should. What other choices do I have besides using a PC?
I have a 4.1 Macbook, and in Safari developer 4 or Firefox 3, I can't open the website. I am connected through an ethernet cable, and it previously worked. It either doesn't load or it forwards me to "cjb.net." It doesn't work in Parallels Mozilla or IE either on ethernet. But in bootcamp, it works. The site also works on my Mac side when I'm connected through airport wireless. Why doesn't it work in ethernet only on the Mac side?
I am at a loss with Google. What I want to know is how do I open a webpage using Terminal? I am doing a lot with Terminal at the moment and was wondering if it is possible. A Ubuntu forums website listed the command as: Insert browser of choice here "URL". I have tried this and I simply get the message: bash: safari: command not found. Am I missing a command before the browser?
I am trying to complete a site on iweb and I have one issue that I cant seem to figure out. I have different links on the side of the page and I would like those links to open in a new window when clicked on instead of the same window.
I have a Windows Desktop PC, Windows Laptop and an iMac plus Macbook Pro, on the desktop pc Safari will not open [URL], yet on my Windows Laptop it will! Both are the same version of Safari, I have uninstalled and re installed Safari with no joy.
Does anyone know how to do a clean uninstall of Safari on Windows, because I think that may solve it.
I tried in Safari and Mozilla and I can't seem to open a link on this website and I know I can open it with no problem on my PC. the website is [URL]... and I can navigate to that site, but when I click on any of the links like education, it says "you have chosen to open index.php file, what should mozilla do with this file?". I want to tell it to open it up so I can see it, but we don't seem to speak the same language.
Safari (version 5.4.1 and earlier) cannot open the blog on the website[URL]. The webmaster tells me he uses Wordpress for that blog. Is this a known Safari problem (Firefox and Opera open the blog) and if so is there a solution to correct this ? I use an iMac running on Lion.
I can't open any website PDFs. I've tried Adobe Reader and Preview. All I can see when I click on any website PDF is a totally black window. The problem appeared suddenly about two weeks ago. ( I can open PDFs that were already downloaded.)
I have a website that I need to open with Safari as it won't display properly in Firefox 3.6.3. From the Address Bar in Safari, I dragged a link to my desktop, right-clicked and checked it to always open with Safari. The name of the link is something like "PITA.webloc"
When it opens that first time, it dose open in Safari, but subsequently, always opens in FF. I also right-clicked to "Get Info" and indicated it to always open with Safari. While "Get Info" shows that correctly, it still always opens in FF.
Just purchased a Magic Mouse to use with my Macbook Pro. When I left click on a Bookmarked Website in Safari it does not open the website it gives me the option to rename the website. Very frustrating. I have to either click on the screen shot above the bookmarks or I have to right click and choose open.
Is it possible to run 2 websites or more now with iWeb 09? I could not figure it out in 08 but I thought I read that you can in 09. This is using one MobileMe account btw.
I would like to know what applications you guys use to build websites. There are tons out there and I would like to hear which one's you guys like and use. I am gonna start building a website for a friend of mine, shes a Realtor so the site would be about that. The application would be for Mac OS X.
Just a few minutes ago, I pulled up iWeb to work on my band's website, only to find that it's nearly all gone. Only one page of the site remains, and everything else just shows a blank screen. When I try and publish it to a folder, it gives me "Publishing error, an unknown error occured." I simply can't have this happen. This website has taken me over a year to create, and now it's trashed. Where does iWeb store the website? Is there some way I can get it back? I've tried everything, but have had no luck.
I have 3 websites that I wish to backup... most are just a few hundred MB - but have MySQL - and have been hunting around... Looking at SpiderOak and Mozy - but would like something a little less pricey or "free" if possible? Also, I'm a mac n00b - so - a decent GUI would be nice...
My host went belly up over xmas - and lost allot of data... hence the search... can't count on anyone these days
PS: Carbon and SuperDuper are cloners - not backup apps (subtle differences).... and I need something more NAS traditional - to get "changed" files and such....
Did a search, nothing, I want to rip a flash video off this website: [URL]. I have NO idea how to do it. I have FF and Safari, I don't care which one I use for this.
The only reason I haven't switched from Firefox to Safari yet is because I check some Arabic news websites, and they seem to be incompatible with Safari or something. I attached screencaps of what they look like (Al-Jazeera, Al-Arabiya) As you can see, the text is out of place. It really is an eyesore.
I recently bought the domain lettherobotsout.co.uk (it's a joke with my friend) for 2 years, so I was wanting to quickly make a little website for it. So I popped open iWeb, having never used it, and immediately got to work. After completing the page, I then went to the thing on the side where you put ftp settings and stuff like that in. But then I realised I had no idea what the "server address" was in the ftp server settings part! I have looked all over the domaincheck website and in "my settings" on the website but I can't find that part out
