I have the MacBook 2.2 GHz with an Airport Extreme wireless card. When I try to connect to my WEP network, for some reason it just does not work. I have tried on multiple networks. I know that it is an issue with my computer because when I use a Windows computer or my Ipod Touch I have no issues.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAnyway, so I bought a 15" 2.66GHz MBP beginning of December and up until a day or 2 ago I've been experiencing problems when I try connecting to the internet.
There are 2 other computers in the house (Windows based, don't know if that's go anything to do with it) and they both connect just fine.
So is there anything wrong with the MBP that I can fix?
(I've tried rebooting the MBP, the router, the modem, everything...)
I have a MBP that will not connect to the internet. The airport shows an ip, but shows failed for internet and server. I have another laptop, desktop, ipad 2&3, iphone and 3 ipods connected to wifi and work flawlessly. I called the ISP and spoke with them for about 2 hours and they say all settings are right, and they can even see the MBP on their end. Wanted to add, i cannot connect with ethernet either, wired directly to modem by bypassing router.

My father made a wifi network for our house. When I got my Macbook Pro in December 2011, I had no problem connecting to it. As soon as I turned on my computer, I was automatically connected. However, for at least 2 months now, I am unable to connect to my network. When I try connecting, a message will pop up saying: "Unable to join network, Connection timeout occured." I talked to someone from AppleCare, and they told me since my router to the wifi network was not from Apple, I would have to unplug the router and turn off my computer. Then wait 2 minutes or so, and turn everything back on. Is there anny way I could try connecting to my network without turning off my computer?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had problems with my macbook for a while now. When I am at school I need to log on a 802.1x wlan with a certificate. For some reason I decided to change the trust settings, and after I did that my internet has become very unreliable. It is like the airport turns on and off all the time. I use iStat and when I look at the Network in and out values they keep changing from 0 to normal speed every second.
Today I tried to delete the certificates from school, and I think I made it work. I added two DNS numbers and a domain search address. But when I got home and started Firefox, it wouldnt work. If I went on a site, it would work, but if I clicked something, it would say that I wasnt connected.
I checked the network settings, and it said approved instead of connected. I deleted the DNS settings, and now I think its working again at home. But now it probably wont work at school. Does anyone know what to do? Has anyone had this problem?
My girlfriend's MacBook (OSX 10.4) recently decided to not access the internet. I have a Linksys wireless router with 2 PC's connected (via ethernet). She usually connects to the router using her built-in AirPort. But, a couple days ago, she was surfing the internet and clicked on a page, and she got the whole "You are not connected to the internet" window. Usually this is no big deal, just a quick power cycle for the router and we're back on track. This time is different. Not only does she still see the router (192.168.1.1), and can access it, but even when she's hardwired via ethernet cable the Macbook can't access the internet.
I love tech'ing things out, and am a real geek for troubleshooting. But, I can't figure this out for the life of me. My other PC's can connect wirelessly, and surf the internet with ease. But, her Macbook seems as if it just doesn't want to access the internet.
I am having trouble accessing FT on my mac at the sign in.This is my first time on mac for this however use it reg on my IPhone. I put my apply ID and password in and it is telling me the check my connectivity? Could not sign in , please check your conection and try again.

I was backing up my MacBook with Time Machine and using my new (correctly formatted) external hard drive. All was going well when my 2 yo knocked the disk leading to a "failure" by time machine (Latest Backup: Failed). Now the MacBook will not even recognize the hard drive. I have rebooted, tried all I can think of, but no acknowledgement of the drive. The drive itself makes noise and vibrates as if working, but nothing from the Mac.

I have an AirPort Extreme for almost a year now. I have never had any problems till today. Suddenly all devices in my home were not able to connect to the internet except my MacBook. I tried resetting and even restoring the AirPort Extreme but nothing has worked. The only thing recently that has happened was that I updated to OS X Yosemite Beta but that was days ago.

I have downloaded the new version of Skype and it just won't let me log on. It says failed to log in: unable to connect to server. I try logging in my iPhone and Pc and they're fine. I have even downloaded the older versions of Skype and it's the same error.
I have just picked up my new MacBook Pro and I am unable to connect my iPhone.
The version of my iPhone is 1.1.2 and it is jail broken.
Will I be able to connect a jail broken iPhone?

Everytime I open up my lap from its sleep mode and try to connect to a website it says, Unable to connect to the Internet. My network connection shows an active connection to the access point. I know the problem is the DNS. When the system is in the state of saying it can't connect to the internet I can both ping my local router, and through an IP for yahoo.com into the browser and have it resovlve.Â
Once I start my system and let it wait for 30 to 60 seconds it will finally work. For some reason the DNS is waiting for a while to kick on.Â
I just reconfigured my adsl2+ wifi router and after that wifi gets connected and I can access the router but I am not able to connect to the internet .

Airport sucks. A lot. It works just fine in WEP or unprotected networks, but WPA-PSK it doesn't do a damn thing. It shows it as connected with a full signal, but Safari, iChat, etc... won't connect to the internet. For some reason Azureus works, but it's going at an amazing 146 bytes/sec and then back down to 0. What's going on here guys? This is my first Mac and I am sorely disappointed in Airport.

My Dad is currently unable to connect to the Internet with his Mac.
He's using Mac OS X Version 10.4.11. It connected fine this morning but he's been unable to connect this afternoon or this evening. A message keeps popping up saying: "Could not find a PPPoE server". I've tried running through the wizard for setting up the connection but it doesn't seem to work.
I've been using my PC online all day with no problems.
Have a new (used) imac running 10.5.6
Used migration assistant to transfer data from G4 which may have been my first mistake...however it's done. Before transfer I was able to access my mac mail, however after transfer I'm unable to.
My isp is comcast. They have not been able to help me. We have gone over preference settings, and that is not the problem.
Ok this issue has been plaguing me for months and I just can't resolve it. I have an iMac (early 2008, supports wake on wireless) with Snow Leopard basically providing all of our services like iTunes, files etc. After the blasted thing falls asleep, when I try to connect to it in Finder with my macbook it'll say "connection failed". If I go wake it up, everything will work fine. I have an Airport Extreme (dual band). It'll show the machine available in finder while it's sleeping, I just can't wake it up. The option "Wake for Network Access" is selected on the Imac. Not sure why it won't wake up. At first the iMac was connected via airport wireless. I tried connecting the ethernet port to a base station and disabling wireless instead but the same issue exists.
