Jun 26, 2014This is what my storage thingy looks like. What in the world is taking up 100 gigs? I can't export my video due to NO SPACE.

Applications :: Importing Video From HD Camcorder - How To Export Into Full HD .mp4
Apr 20, 2009so I recently bought a Canon HD Camcorder 1080p with 32GB SD Card. After I am done shooting videos I have two programs to choose from: Final Cut Pro 2 and iMovie '09. It seems that Final Cut Pro does not import from Camcorders, so I have been using iMovie.
Once I start importing, it asks me if I want the movie in full 1920x1080 HD. I selected yes. Once I am done importing into iMovie, I want to export it to .mp4 in High Def but the only options iMovie gives me to export is iDVD, iTunes, YouTube and Mobile Me Gallery and none of those formats are in High Def.
How can I export my videos to .mp4 in full 1920x1080 format?

Feb 27, 2012Not sure if it's the right place, but my MacBookPro is showing storage memory of ca.500GB almost full. Checked fotos, movies, music, apps, etc. and they are under 50GB in total.

Dec 6, 2014I bought a new Retina Macbook & have over 10 years of photos that I DO NOT want to bring into my new computer.
I want to transfer them to an external storage drive (Lacie Rugged Thunderbolt).
Prior to Yosemite, I could go into iPhoto from the left column of finder window and transfer.
One of the crappiest things I don't like about New iPhoto is that it's so difficult to export the photos. It feels like Apple thinks they own them. Pulling my music off was much easier.
Finder no longer gives me the iPhoto option anymore. The PHOTOS Folder only shows photos that came in from a camera or other source.
Photo Stream can't do it as it's just a storage drive. My photos are set up to go from photo stream right into my Macbook so they have to be somewhere on my hard drive.

Jun 25, 2014I had Wine for a long time on my computer, and it worked well, loved it! However, when I got Steam for Windows through, and got *one* game on it, my storage started to disappear!!!! I have a Macbook Air with 128 GB, and half of that was used up. I got Steam and a game that was about 1,300 bytes. After I deleted the game file through steam, my storage went down... I decided to delete Steam, and it went down more... I currently have 16 GB left. Whenever I delete things, my storage left goes down more, or seems to.

Aug 31, 2014I had to delete a Yosemite partition I created on my mid 2012 macbook pro because the 16gig available filled up fast.
I check my HD and it was almost full to capacity, it shows I had 2.2 TB of photos and 1.5 TB of audio.
I don't know if this photos and music kept adding each time I sync my iphone or each time i log on to Facebook.
Anyway I would like to FREE UP THE SPACE but how, and would I need to have 3plus TB of external DH to do this, or what??????

Feb 12, 2012I use an HD Flip video camera to capture video so, when I plug into my MBP, my FLip software opens up and i transfer vid to there.Then if I want to utilize in iMovie, I export to a folder on my desktop and then bring in to iMovie..I storing this video, (a lot of room of course), three times?? taking up a lot of space.

So I bought an external hard drive and backed up my mac using Time Machine. Now I want to delete everything off my mac's internal Hard Drive and use my external hard drive so I can empty my disk. Applications :: How Do I Export Video W/ Alpha From FCP
Jan 12, 2011so i've created outlines for a bunch of animated characters- 24 frames per second, each frame is a different psd file with black outlines. I'm animating over live action footage, similar in look and style to Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
I brought them in to final cut and edited them nicely (i applied some motion effects, changing the position on a few frames) so i can work with them in after effects to track them to some handheld shots.
What i need to know how to do is to export these outlines from FCP to After Effects with an alpha background- I did the export with the animation codec and the millions+ option, but when i brought them into after effects, the frames are all black! (as they are in FCP when i get rid of the shot beneath them...(which i'm doing because i just want to edit the outlines in after effects, not them on top of the footage))

Final Cut Pro X :: Export Whole Video After Editing In All Different Shots
Dec 12, 2014I'm a drummer and use a few different camera's to record my drumming. I have one camera capable of recording 720p or 1080p, but my other 2 only shoot 480p. I want export the whole video after editing in all the different shots, at 1080p or 720p. My problem is, the camera's that shoot 480p, have a border around them, so can I fill in that border somehow?

Mar 28, 2009I've been working on some making some video clips that are ipod commericals (to eventually do the whole thing on imovie) but after 4-5 videos being finished, I work on the next one and right in the middle of rendering, it just freezes and doesn't do anything else, or when I try to just export it it does that, but before it works fine. I tried removing a couple extra effects I aded, and it still does it.

Oct 6, 2010Since day one, whenever I tried opening a fullscreen window whether it be Vimeo or Youtube, there is a pause of hesitation where the screen turns blank white for a second or 2 before playing the video. It's sort of annoying but is it just my computer is it like that for every mbp? #2 Whenever I try clicking on anything whether it be the maxmize, minimize, close button or dragging items around with the trackpad held down, 3 out of 5 times, it'll not respond. It was the case with my logitech optical mouse and when i'm using the track pad sometimes. Sorry for the terribly crappy video, but the part towards the end where i'm showing myself clicking is when i'm trying to close the window and its not responding to my click. I am recording a day-and-a-half worth of presentations. The video will total out to be about 12 hours or more. I am recording presentations by various professors on different subjects. 12-hour-video is worthless to a normal sane person. I want to cut the video into sections and then export to Vimeo. Ultimately I would like to slice-up everything into 15-20 minute sections.
Is there an easy way, say "chapters", that I can setup in FCPX and then click "Export" and export out 40-or-so videos? I'd like to call a section "Greg-1" and "Greg-2" and have FCPX generate Greg-1.mp4 and Greg-2.mp4, etc...

May 12, 2010was wondering if when your watching a youtube video or anything that makes the nvidia 330m kick in do you experience a lag when hitting the full screen button? I have the graphics switcher/indicator program installed and whenever I go to full screen it goes from intel to nvidia and there is a good 1-2 second delay from clicking the button to going to full screen. If I force 330m to be on at all times the lag goes away. This seem normal? You would think Apple would have ironed out this kink. It makes my computer go from feeling snappy to slow when my netbook can full screen faster.

I realized today that most likely it will have 64GB of storage - the exact same size as my Macbook Air - I think it is so wild my future phone/pocket computer will have the exact same storage capacity as my main laptop. I could potentially mirror everything on my Mac that is on my iPhone in the future.

Jul 21, 2009I have a Samsung 2033SW hooked up to my mac and whenever I play video full-screen on on screen (either the laptop or the samsung), the other screen blacks out. This happens whether I use VLC, RealPlayer or Quicktime. How do I set it up so that I can play full-screen video on one and still be able to use the other screen for other stuff?
I'm pretty sure it's not because there aren't enough resources because I can still play "fit-to-screen" on one screen and still have access to the other screen.
