Applications :: Photo Booth & Video Options In My System ?
Jul 5, 2008When recording video in PhotoBooth mst of it is not captured. For example, say I record a video for 3 minutes, the clock will say 3 minutes, and once I hit stop the resulting video file will be around a minute long. This is happening with all recordings, however I do not have such problems when using video capture in iMovie.

Aug 28, 2010Me and some friends were messing around on Photo Booth and we took a lengthy video (about 10 minutes) to put up on Youtube. We weren't done with the video and everything was still recording when I left for a minute.When I returned, Photo Booth was closed. My friend has never used a Mac before and he's not sure what he did. He says he was trying to quit out of another program and he might've accidentally quit Photo Booth. Either that, or he pressed the X, thinking it was the minimize button on Windows.Anyways, where is the part of the video that we actually recorded? Did the entire thing not get saved at all just because we might've quit out of the program near the end of our video?

Oct 30, 2007I just upgraded to leopard on my MacBook Pro (2.4ghz Duo & 2GB ram) and have been messing around in Photo Booth, I noticed when I record a video with a video backdrop the process turns out sluggish and jerky. It only seems to be the backdrop that is quite laggy so I was wondering if this is just a case of there not being enough ram to handle it or is something else up.

May 19, 2010i just a macbook (used from a friend) and I decided to record in photo booth a 2 minute video of me and my son (i have done two before and worked fine) and I thought it went well but when I decided to play it the only thing that worked on it was the video but had no audio playback. What happen and is their a program that can maybe retreat the sound it maybe its still in the file?

Jun 5, 2012So I recently moved EVERYTHING from my old Mac desktop to my new one. When I record a video and then click to watch it, the recording screen will go black and the little color wheel will show up and long story short, I havent been able to watch any videos for a few days (for the first couple hours after the stuff on my old imac -> new imac, I could watch videos perfectly fine. Maybe its because I am currently updating iPhoto and its taking a veryyyy long time.) But...with my old iMac, I had about 10 slides of extra photobooth effects. It slowed down photobooth TREMENDOUSLY but I didnt know how to uninstall them.Unfortunately, those same effects have moved over to my new mac and its driving me nuts. I thought that was the culprit and tried uninstalling them. I cant do Library>Compositions>erase because when I do so, theres nothing there to delete!

May 3, 2012I have been trying to send videos from my photo booth album, i've tried more than once, and various videos. But, on the receiving hand, they are not able to open it because "it's not compatible" with their computer. They do not have an Apple computer, but how could I convert the video into a file they can open and view?

Aug 26, 2006The application is having problems with the "Pop Art" effect. The top left quadrant is as usual, but the remaining ones are completely yellow. I have tried resetting the prefs, but to no avail.

Sep 2, 2009Photo booth kept saying I could't open it because of the version I was in so I stumbled upon this fix. Drag photo booth off of your dock and you'll see the puff of smoke. Next, go to the macintosh HD and click applications. Then just drag photo booth from the list and put it onto your dock and it should work. I don't know if it will work for everyone, but it worked for me.

May 1, 2010I did a dick head move and downloaded effects for photo booth. The reason why it's a dick head move was because I didn't realize that the effects was for photo booth 2.1.1 and I'm running 3.0.2. Now my default effect quality is terrible and you cant hardly take a "good" picture. Is there any way I can remove the new effects and get my regular back to the way it is suppose to be?

Mar 19, 2009I have downloaded loads of new effects for photo booth and then was looking for some more and the single qtz files which are placed in the Library/Compositions folder show up as a grey screen (see attachment) in the preview but are fine when you click on them. So does anyone know how I can get the preview of these to show up, or even to paste a picture in the box?! Also, does anyone know where I can download some single qtz files to add to photo booth as well?

Apr 23, 2010I got my new Macbook Air today, and I downloaded some effects off of Apple and then also some from Cateye. But for some of the rainbow-y colored ones, the picture turns out inverted? This includes: Magicball, Coloido, Christmas, Tryptamine, Retro: Trippy, Retro: Rainbow Tee (my favorite!), Ocean, City Lights, etc. At first I thought this was a problem from the site I downloaded it from, but then I downloaded two sets from two different sites and both sets have effecs with this weird inverted-glitch.

Jan 12, 2011so i've created outlines for a bunch of animated characters- 24 frames per second, each frame is a different psd file with black outlines. I'm animating over live action footage, similar in look and style to Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
I brought them in to final cut and edited them nicely (i applied some motion effects, changing the position on a few frames) so i can work with them in after effects to track them to some handheld shots.
What i need to know how to do is to export these outlines from FCP to After Effects with an alpha background- I did the export with the animation codec and the millions+ option, but when i brought them into after effects, the frames are all black! (as they are in FCP when i get rid of the shot beneath them...(which i'm doing because i just want to edit the outlines in after effects, not them on top of the footage))

Jul 15, 2008My 2 week old, new mac pro has brought me much joy, I love it. However my son and my daughter, would very much like to play with the photo booth. Apples fire wire isight, is no longer produced and sells for big bucks in the used hardware arena.
Are their any of you out their that have any 3rd party webcams, that work well with photo booth? I know that their are plenty of plug and play usb webcams, that will work with the likes of ichat. But from what I have read is that photo booth is some what picky with usb web cams. Slow and unresponsive.

Apr 2, 2012I have an iMac OS X 10.4.11. and my version of Photo Booth does not have a Camera Tab for me to connect an additional camera, it only allows me to use it's own built in camera.
