Junk text appeared a few weeks ago before www. When opening new window in safari. I got around this by deleting junk text. This week I tried to find a longer term solution but did something (in file) that now seems to have taken away my address bar completely! I can't seem to reinstate address bar.

When I launch safari 5.1 (Mac Lion) today, I found address bar missing. I clicked "Show toolbar" selected at the top of the View menu, and then "customize toolbar", no response. ( https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3632452?start=0&tstart=0 ) I remove all extentions and disable all plug-ins, and click "customize toolbar", no response.I clicked "reset safari", no way ! I unstall safari, and then reinstall safari 5.1, the problem is the same .

I think I may have done some weird syncing thing on my phone resulting in many numbers disappearing from it so I want all the entries on mac address book to be updated. I have just recently noticed that though the Dock shows the little blue indicator that Address Book is running and the Ctrl-TAB shows that Address Book is running, there is no way to bring up Address Book's Window. This started about a week or so ago.

I went to sent a fax like I have always done, for years now. I select Send Fax, then Facsimile.There used to be a button that said Address Book so I could find the fax number to use. That button is no longer there. I now have to manually open the Address Book to find the number, then copy and paste it into the Fax (Print) dialog window.Over the weekend I did update my Brother printer driver using Software Update. Did this cause the Address Book button to vanish?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded my macbook pro 17 inch to snow leopard 10.6.2 from tiger and all seems fine except that it has dropped some of the calendars from iCal (e.g. Personal, and Free), and also my address book is short 2000 addresses! Most annoying and rather odd. Anyone seen this, and have a solution? I went to the backup and tried to double click iCal events documents that are in the missing calendars but they still do not appear in iCal 10.6.

I run OSX 10.4.11 on a G5 and quite often when I start up the text is fragmented in both applications and menus. In Safari the address has random letters missing. Everything runs OK I'm just worried something more serious is wrong.
I clicked the little jellybean thing on the top right, and it only makes the menubar appear and disappear, but the sidebar is still gone.i don't have a little dot on the left hand side so i have nothing to drag. i checked my finder preferences and the folders are still checked.but even after all that... still no side bar.

It can be done by clicking the master tab, then going to the Input 1-2 column setting and then clicking setting - mastering, etc.When I first did this a few weeks ago, there were many options such as hip hop mastering, electronic mastering, etc.Now, when I do so, I have different - much less enticing options and have no idea where the good ones went.
I have Lion 10.7.2 and am running Safari version 5.1.2, hopefully I am good so far. I'm not sure what hapenned, I must have done something, but one day my address bar decided it wanted to play hide and seek and it won....the "show toolbar" option does nothing upon clicking it, neither does the "customize toolbar" option.

Over the last few days I've noticed a problem with missing icons. It seems to mainly effect icons in the Trash but I have one or two missing icons for videos and apps within the Finder and on the Desktop. The icon is completely gone - I have to click on the filename to select it. Quicklook works OK (for video).
I can't think of anything I've installed that would have done it except Onyx, but I haven't run that in weeks. I did repair permissions a few days ago but I doubt that could break this. It persists after a reboot. I can't get it to happen on command, it just randomly occurs. Creating a New Folder always works OK.
Using a G4 IBOOK with OS 10.5.8. Recently converted IBOOK from just my wifes computer to both of us so it is now dual usuage with both of us signing in to our respective files/e-mail, etc. My side has a problem never experienced before. My apple mail system address book has all the names the dock address book does but is missing almost 2/3rd of the actual e-mail addressess. I have tried to redo the dock address book in hopes it would change the "internal" mail book, but to no avail. It id difficult to add a recipient to an outgoing e-mail via the dock address instead of the apple mail address book.

For example the domain name is example.com and I have a user set up called john. Sending mail to john@server.example.com works.
But sending mail to john@example.com (which is what I want) returns an error:
554 554 5.7.1 <john@example.com>: Relay access denied (state 13).
For internal DNS, I have:

Try as I might, doing various combinations of name or group selections in the address book window, I cannot seem to get the "Edit Distributuion List" item to be un-greyed. Effectively, the program is not allowing me to do the edit function I need to do on this one group member.Â
Am I missing the secret handshake in this process? Why should it be this hard to do this simple function?Â
Which raises the larger question of "What did Apple do to the Address Book application in general?" This issue is only the tip of my iceberg. The whole app seems to be harder to use than before.Â

This is probably a stupid question, but why isn't there an address contact button that you can click on in a new message from MAIL? Am I missing something here? In all previous versions of the OS one could just do that and a list of contacts popped up and then you could click on one and it would go to the "To" slot. There's got to be an easier way than to open the contact book, find an address, copy it, then place it in the message "To" slot.
