I have my music with iTunes installed on a PC desktop that is cabled (cat5) to a router. Can I cable the AirPort via Cat5 to the same router and use that configuration to push music from iTunes to the Stereo receiver? All the configurations I see in the AirPort documentation show the input to it being wireless.
View 3 Replies View RelatedRecently I tried installing a 2.5" SSD in a 3.5" enclosure (Icy Dock) in one of the internal drive bays in my Mac Pro. The enclosure was defective, apparently, because the SATA ports on the enclosure didn't quite line up with the internal SATA ports in the MP drive bay. Unfortunately, I pushed a little too hard to get it in and I ended up bending the metal brackets that the black plastic SATA port is screwed on to in the Mac Pro.
The result is that the SATA port is now bend down at about a 10% angle, which is enough to prevent me from sliding a hard drive in and connecting it. I've tried to bend it back to the normal angle, but I wasn't successful.
It is a recently purchased LG TV, and the latest Macbook Pro bought in July.
It would help if you could post some links from the Apple website or whatever.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am a new mac user and have a MacBook running the new Snow Leopard platform. I would like to be able to use it as a desktop when at home. I understand I will need cables. I have a good old VDU which I want to keep if I can. It works well, it is currently connected to a PC.
1. Can I use the VDU I have, if not, what generic type should I buy?
2. What cables will I need; what should I ask for?
3. I have a Microsoft natural shaped keyboard which saved my wrists, I wish to carry on using it, The keyboard is a USB one, though I don't know off-hand if it is USB one or two.
I am running MS Office for Mac so I presume I should be able to transfer my MS folders over to this MacBook.
My ethernet port is not responsive. Same cables work elsewhere. Doesn't light up, not recognized at all. I tried to zap the pram but to no avail. Suggestions?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a Cables to Go DB9 Adapter to connect my ancient Sony Handicam to my Macbook. The problem is that the disk that came with the cable only had the PC drivers, and no make ones. I already checked on the Cables to Go website, and they don't have any Mac drivers. Is there any way I could get one so my Macbook will register that it's connected to my camera?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI bought a second screen a few days ago, the 23" LG M2394D. I have got it connected to my 24" Aluminium iMac. The resolution of the monitor is 1920x1080 and the iMac is 1920x1200. System preferences lets me assign the different resolutions on the different screens, but the quality on the second screen at 1920x1200 is very dodgy. If i put it to 1650x1050 it looks better, but not as good as the apple display. I have also noticed that the picture is 'too big for the screen', i.e. there is some of the picture outside of the screen area that i cant see. I have the screen connected via the Apple MiniDVI to dvi connector and then a DVi to HDMI cable into the screen. Is it the HDMI that is causing some of the problems? would a straight DVI cable work better? Here is the screen: [URL]

I have a Mac pro 1,1 model and recently upgraded the video card to a Saphirre 6870 card. It works great right out of the box on both Mac and pc side of my Mac pro. From my online research, this card seems to be the best card that works with my mac pro so far, however I plan on getting an even more powerful card to use exclusively on my windows partition for games. I want to get a 6970 card, but that one may not work on the Mac side, so I plan on using both cards (the 6970 for the pc side, and the 6870 for the Mac side). There are two ways that I think may be possible but I wouldn't know how. One, is there a switch device that allows me to switch between cards without having to disconnect and reconnect them every time ? And second possible way, is there a way to house the second video card externally with its own power supply? The issue if that the are not enough power connections for both cards, so is there a way to power one card externally?

As I understand it the MDP from the 5770/5870's have audio support. So does the cable from the new 27" LED display. Do MDP extension cables that can also carry the audio exist (e.g., is Atlona AT13032-2 such a cable)?

I'm only willing to pull so hard on it to find out I'm boxing it up for travel to another state for a trip and it would be easier to manhandle it into & out of the box without the cable attached.

I have a Panasonic Viera (2006) digital TV. It has every possible port on the back (and even ports on one side.)The TV is connected to a digital TV tuner/hard disk recorder unit. The tuner also has a ton of ports. What do I need to do in order to send video from the TV to the Mac and record it on the Mac?(Either live TV or video playback from the hard disk recorder.)With my old analog TV, I used the Interview XLR8 USB video capture device with the Interview application or BTV application. (I think even Quicktime could record from the XLR too.)Seems digital TV doesn't work with the XLR8. Is that right? I tried the XLR8 with various combinations of inputs/outputs but can't seem to get any video to appear on the Mac.
I see that HDMI is one way out from Mac out and view on the TV.I also have a VCR and DVD player connected to the TV via a switcher box. With the variety of digital and analog outputs from these devices, seems I should be able to get video from the TV into the Mac.

Does your first gen MacBook have WiFi problems? Here's why mine has. I opened it for the first time, and here's what I found. These are the WiFi antennas cables: They've been cut by the simply opening and closing the display, for more than three years. The cables are stuck in a bad place and suffer from excessive pressure and contortion. Of course my Apple care is finished... but all these wifi problems in the apple support forum make me think every first gen macbook is concerned [URL] This is a MacBook Core Duo 2.0 ghz (Early 2006).
