Something was hidden in a download and now these double green underlined hyperlinks show up everywhere, and pop ups too whenever I click on ANYTHING. I can't figure out how to find it and get rid of it.

This seems like a stupid question but someone is asking me and off the top of my head I can't seem to replicate the solution. If someone is typing in their yahoo or other email account and they type in www.cnn.com for example..how do you automatically set up OSX or the specific yahoo/email acct to underline/hyperlink that address so recipients simply click on that link in the email.

I did a search for a downloaded file. Result came back Home>Library>Filename. Cool. Problem is this: When I go to Home, there is no file named Library, nor is there a mail downloads file. Is the file hidden and, if so, how do I show it?

I have tried multiple methods to get hidden files to be shown in Finder including the Terminal command:
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE
killall Finder
I have also tried using Revealer and still no hidden files are shown.
Using Mavericks 10.9.x (latest version)
Can't find the com.apple.finder file anywhere in Library either.

I have some files on a NTFS drive (from a Wiindows 7 PC), the files were hidden. So ... I followed these instructions:

After I applied the above I could see the folders and files, although the folders appear as light blue, not the usual blue folders we in OS X, and the files are lighter as well.
When I select 'get info' under 'sharing and permissions' I see 'you can only read', no other options are available.
However, I am able to transfer the files to my desktop, although they remain light blue. Also, when I select 'get info' (on the transferred files on the desktop) under 'sharing and permissions' 'my user name' 'read & right' is enabled. But the folders still appear blue (and the files are much lighter).
I assume if I run the Command: defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles NO
The folders and files will no longer be visible.

I have used Macs since 1983 and for the life of me I can't figure this out. I can create a folder on the desktop, double click it, and the folder actions are there. I double click on the hard drive itself and no folder actions, and no way to get them back.
I've repaired permissions. I've used OnyX. I've used TinkerTool to see if there's some hidden options. I've Gotten info and Finder/Preferences -- Nothing.

My MacBook pro charger port isnt working. I use my charger for my sisters laptop and it works therefore indicating that the charger isn't the problem but when I charge my laptop it shows a faint green light but not charging! It's cause water spilled on my laptop the day before but it was not a lot & I let it to dry but everything works well except from the charger port!

Just got a refurbished 27" Imac I5 with the Radeon 4850 yesterday.This happened twice yesterday, so today, when I powered on I had my blackberry ready to record.As you can see theres a large green band (yesterday it was accompanied with a red one) that spans the vertical aspect of the screen. why wont the mac app store show me the download progress bar anymore? im using Version 1.1.2 (92.8) which seems to be the newest. i today bought a game on the app store which is 15gb. and in the mac app store under "purchased" it wont give me a download progress bar. even in the help file of the app it is said to be there next to the app just bought in the list. however. lauchnpad does give me a progress bar. which is just rather sloppy because it indicates nothing on speed or time remaining. how come mac app store removed the status bar?

I recently switched to Mac and noticed that the hyperlink button is no longer present in AIM. I prefer to rename links rather than post the often lengthy urls in messages and buddy info. I tried to get around the absence of the hyperlink button by manually inserting the HTML to create a link but this does not work either.
It seems strange that this feature is not supported. Can anyone explain a way to rename links in AIM on a Mac that I am unaware of or is it actually not possible?
I have a few questions which I know Adobe Acrobat Pro can accomplish simply, although ideally I don't wish to spend hundreds of pounds on the software.
I have created an online brochure in PDF format and I wish to insert hyperlinks within the PDF to various sections of the brochures website. As I say, Acrobat Pro can do this simply as I've used it before although I was wondering if there is any other PDF software capable of doing such a task?
My second question is regarding allowing PDF commenting. It seems when I create the PDF (From InDesign), commenting is disabled. Can I not create the PDF from InDesign with commenting allowed?
If I try to delete hyperlinks from my Bookmarks, either with the Delete button or with mouse, all i get is the 'rainbow pinwheel' and 'not responding' message. never happened before.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMost of my company is PC based, but we artists are Mac based. We all work on the same Excel file, updating, saving, replacing. When we open the PC excel file on our Macs, none of the hyperlinks work ... then if we save something to the file, when the PC guys open the file, none of the hyperlinks work for them anymore either. We really want to be able to use Excel and not have to use VMware in order to update our file on the Mac. Any thoughts??
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I convert a MS Word document (MS Word 2004 for Mac) to a PDF document, using Adobe Acrobat (v. 8 for Mac), the hyperlinks that were inserted into the Word document are not present in the PDF document (hyperlink text is present, but it is not clickable or colored/underlined as it was in orig. Word document).
Please inform me of any setting in Acrobat or Word that I may need to change to get the hyperlinks to carry over properly during conversion.
I really don't want to go through all of my PDFs that I have created and re-insert hyperlinks manually, as there are TONS of them..!

Why don't hyperlinks show in Calendar meetings? These are generated from Company Google Calendar (Google Apps) and show up in Outlook. I would like to click on the webex link to attend a meeting.
