Mac Pro :: Occasionally Get Messages For BootCamp 3.2 Install?

Dec 17, 2010

I have a macpro3, 1 with a ati5870 installed. I have ATI's latest driver installed, and occasionally I get the message asked if I want to install bootcamp 3.2. Should I bother? I mean, won't I have to uninstall the ATI driver that bootcamp 3.2 installs and reinstall the driver I have now? I am not having any problems at the moment. Has anyone had any issues going to 3.2 with a 5870 after installing ATI's drivers manually?

Software :: Install And Use BootCamp From Apple - Install Of Leopard Didn't Include BC

May 26, 2009

I've been trying to install and use BootCamp from Apple, so I can use Visual Basic for my classes. Obviously, I need Windows for this. Anyway, i downloaded BootCamp, installed it, and then Windows XP. After this I was told to insert my OSX disc to get the drivers. Well nothing happened at all. I suppose because this install of Leopard didn't include BC, it was a seperate download.I then read that BC Assistant should give me the option to burn a drivers disc. I looked at the provided screenshots, and right where the button should have been, there was nothing.

Windows On Mac :: Installed Vista Via Bootcamp - Install Drivers Without An Install Disk?

Apr 10, 2009

I searched for a while trying to find the answer but did not find it. I just installed Vista Business via Bootcamp. I am not able to access the internet or anything. If I read the help stuff right I need to use the OSX install disk to install the drivers. The problem is, I don't have the install disk. Is there any other way to get the drivers? Or am I just missing something easier?

Windows On Mac :: Bootcamp 3.1 Won't Install - How To Install

May 28, 2010

I have a 27" iMac with an i7 CPU, 16GB RAM, 2TB HDD. It is running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 under bootcamp.

When I try to install bootcamp services it states "to install bootcamp services you need to running Windows XP SP2 or Windows Vista"

I then downloaded bootcamp services 3.1 from here:
[URL]

It clearly states Windows 7 support, and is for X64.

Yet when I run it, it gives the same error stating I need to using Windows Vista or XP SP2.

does one install bootcamp services on a 27" iMac under Windows 7?

OS X :: To Install Windows On Bootcamp?

Oct 16, 2010

Well basically I tried to install Windows on Bootcamp, and long story short I have to completely reinstall OSX. When I put the Snow Leopard disc in, I try holding either Command-Option-Shift-Delete or just c, and neither methods work. It always tries to boot from the HD, in which case I just get the spinning circle for ever. Why wont it boot from the disc?!?!? I also tried plugging in an external dvd drive, and it still wont work....

OS X :: Install Windows 7 Via Bootcamp

May 6, 2009

I was trying to install Windows 7 via Bootcamp last night - all went well until Win7 started up - it wanted me to type a Username for the default user. However, I have a wireless keyboard & mouse, and these didn't appear to be recognised (I think I might have to pair them later??). I had to abort the installation by hard resetting. Any way around this, without buying a wired keyboard & mouse?!

OS X :: No BootCamp PKG Bust Install DVD

Jun 10, 2009

I need to install windows to run a PC only piece of software for work (clampfit). I have a late 2007 Macbook with 10.5.7. There is no boot camp assistant anywhere. This appears to be a known issue: [URL]. I tried to install bootcamp.pkg from the install disk 1. However it makes like a washing machine and crashes (other cd/dvd work fine). Does anyone know where I can download a copy? I haven't time to go to an apple shop to get a new DVD just now. Alternatively, if anyone has it easily accessible and could upload it for me that would be brilliant.

Windows On Mac :: Can't Install Bootcamp 3.0 Win 7 64x

Sep 17, 2009

I've installed Windows 7 64x on my Macbook, now when I insert the Mac OS X disc that came with my Macbook I can install the Bootcamp64 file but when I insert the Snow Leopard disk to install Bootcamp 3.0 I can't install the Bootcamp64 or the 32 bit Bootcamp file. I really want the 3.0 version so that I can have the read capability for the Mac partition in Windows. When I try to install the Bootcamp64 it comes up saying "This installation requires elevated privilages. Launch the installer through setup.exe" When I run it through setup.exe however it comes up with the message saying that it Bootcamp64 is unsupported on this model. The same message would come up when I use the Leopard disks but I was able to bypass this by instaling it through the Bootcamp64 file found in the Apple drivers folder.

Can someone help me out here I need to get Bootcamp 3.0 installed, I think there are some 3rd party apps that can give you HTFS read capability but I don't want use those, I've looked at some they are horrible so don't suggest it!! Also I'm not a 64x fanatic, I'm using Windows64x because you need it to use 4GB ram.

OS X :: Install Bootcamp 3.1 Without Screwing Up?

Jan 21, 2010

I installed Win 7 when it came out using the bootcamp 3.0 that was provided when Snow Leopard came out. The instructions were discussed in many forum, like the drivers for Vista work , you need to have admin access or right click and do this and that... cut to the chase, the bootcamp is working with Win 7 since 2 months for me. How do I install bootcamp 3.1 without screwing up everything that is loaded in bootcamp, the Win 7, Office, other softwares.. specially knowing my Win 7 is OEM. Can the ones who have tried (were in the same spot as me) share their experience ? Or the technically inclined of us share the impacts?

MacBook :: Can't Install XP Through Bootcamp

Feb 20, 2012

First things first, I am running OS 10.7.3 and trying to install using bootcamp. I have so far been able to download and burn the disk for the drivers etc for after installing windows. However when I try and progress to the install of windows and creating the partition I run into a few issues.

First up bootcamp in the progression options only mentions installing windows 7....ignoring that and clicking to the next step I set the amount that I wan't to partition (250GB HDD - partitioning off 50GB) when clicking install I come up against a message saying that the installer disc could not be found. I have no internal disc drive currently as it broke some time back, but I have a samsung external optical drive that I use, loads discs on the computer fine normally, so is it not finding the installer because its not looking for an external drive? Or would it be because it is looking for Windows 7?

I have also tried partitioning the drive using the disc utilities app, although after taking a while about it, it says Partition failed (couldn't modify partition map because file system varification failed) So now I am stumped and can't think of what to try.

Info:MacBook, Mac OS X (10.7.3), Internal optical drive broken

Windows On Mac :: Bootcamp Drivers Won't Install With XP?

Dec 11, 2010

1. New 11" macbook air. Set up partition for Windows XP SP2 using bootcamp. Prior to the Windows install I made the bootcamp driver install DVD per the instructions.

2. Windows installed fine. In Windows, went to install the bootcamp drivers from DVD I made and get this message: "bootcamp requires that your computer is running windows 7" And then I can't install the drivers.

Is there a limitation to running Windows 7 only?
