Don't know if anyone has this happen to them but at random moments, my mouse (stock mighty mouse w/cable) just shoot to the bottom left or right for no reason. I then have to move my mouse till I can get it in view again. It wears on your patience after a while as you can imagine.

I got my new iMac. It's beautiful, but the wireless keyboard has sharp edges. It easily scratches the aluminum finish on the magic mouse bottom, and the plastic on the top. Obviously the answer is "don't hit bump your mouse into your keyboard"... but with the 27" screen... you have to move the mouse A LOT to get your expose' corners working! Other than that, works well.
Side note: exceptionally impressed with parallels 6 -- but I gave it 2 cores and 6gb of RAM.
I can remote desktop into it with my macbook pro and do some quick coding in Visual Studio - nice. To setup remote desktop in parallels 6 -- you need to go to Virtual Machine.. Configure..Network... change it to shared connection with Airport.
The first week I had my Macbook Pro I noticed about 5 or 6 little grey splotches on the right hand edge of the screen. About a month later tons of them had formed on the top edge in a cluster. I didn't take my computer in because it wasn't that noticable, only at an angle. Well it's been 9 months, and there's now spots on the left hand side, and it's spreading. A week ago they started to appear on the bottom on the screen, and all the spots on all the other edges are forming rings around them.
I took it to my tech at our school since they sold us the laptops, and he said the spots were too small for water damage, and that he's never seen anything like it before. So I took it into the apple store THINKING they would replace it, instead they told me it had to be water damage and that was that. I've never spilled anything on this computer, and the spots started the week I got it. No matter how many times i explained the situation to those people, they just kept repeating "I'm not saying that you're lying, but we dont know what was actually done to the computer, we say it's water damage, which isn't covered" and refused to fix it.
Its just a bunch of little grey dots clustered together, some are a little spread out but as the weeks go by it just gets worse.
I'm not really sure what else to do at this point, the apple store obviously wasnt a big help. And I still have no idea what it is, i just know that this computer is extremely important to my schooling, it doesn't get banged around, i dont even eat around it. Has anyone seen anything like this?
Is it normal to have what seems to be light bleed in on the sides? On black screens there is like a lighter line on the sides. Seems pretty evenly on each side.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm new to MBP 13'' (2010), just 3 weeks now, and it's my first laptop, so I don't know if this is just normal or not. I have noticed there are several marks on screen appears to be from keyboard edges, say where the "E" key supposed to meet the screen. Looks like small spot scratches, but fortunately they came off when I clean them with damped cloth. It came back after I use and close/open the lid, same spots I think. New MBP design looks like the keys should not touch the screen, but it appears to be keep touching while lid is closed? What about yours, can you see marks when the screen is turned off? Or I may need to worry about screen protection? (if I do cleaning often the same spots I guess it may scratch eventually?)

I now own one (as of Monday morning) and am loving it, except for one thing -- the sharp edges that cut into my wrists while I type! I've read various threads with complaints about this, but haven't seen any suggestions for fixing it (sorry if I missed postings about this elsewhere). My two ideas are either to sand down the edges until they're rounded and smooth, or put something on it (a piece of cloth? glue?)
View 24 Replies View Relatedit's been just over a week now with my refurbished Rev B and I'm noticing the casing is creaky along the edges/seams. Everything is tight and it's not the display. Is this a Rev B thing? My Rev A was super solid and didn't make any noises. I know the internals of the Rev A vs. Rev B were drastically changed and I wonder if that has anything to do with it. It's not bad, I just noticed it and was curious... maybe it's a refurb thing?

I am completely in love with just about every aspect of it except for one pesky thing -- the edges of the aluminum unibody are ridiculously sharp and dig into my wrists after prolonged use. I seriously don't know how this feature ever got passed Apple's design team and the user test trials. Anyway, I've seen some similar posts about this but no one seems to give any good solutions. My question is - does anyone know of any good accessory products (wrist rests, etc...) that would remedy this? The ones I've seen just seem to be palm rest protectors and don't address the actual edges of the computer. Or, does anyone have any ideas for home remedies? I thought of maybe buying some moleskin or foam and applying it over the edge but that would prove to be quite unsightly I'm sure.

When I have multiple tabs or just one and click it and drag it off the tabs bar to make it become a window everytime i let go it becomes a window but everything is messed up. the edges around the window and the top of it. It looks like it is overlapping or something. This was the last straw for me, not fixing it with 10.6.4. I have no idea if this is a widespread issue, but does anyone know how to fix it?

I've had my mac for about three years now and everything was working fine. After I installed lion, I notice that this started to happen. I don't lose any of my information though when it does that. It just goes into a sleep mode I guess? Anyways, is this a feature from the lion update? Something standard?

When trying to open computer after being in sleep mode, I clicked the mouse to open the password screen, & a blank blue/black screen appeared & the mouse timer( colored circle) appeared, as if to be waiting. I had to unplug the computer to reboot it. This has happened twice in 2 days.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got a late 2007 SR whitebook 2.2ghz 4gig of ram with intel gma x3100 using Snow Leopard 10.6.3. Last couple months (I think) I've experienced some graphical corruption around the edges of apps (it goes black mostly but sometimes looks like lots of lines) it also happens in expose around the windows, also on dock icons. It happened in 10.6.2 and now 10.6.3, its not happening at the moment which is annoying as i can't show you, my macbook seems to run very hot (well it feels hot underneath though the iStat dashboard shows it idling cpu at 57 degrees c).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a late 2011/early2012 MBP running OSX 10.7.3 (build 11D50d) and All of a sudden my trackpad is playing up. I can move the cursor from all places of the trackpad apart from the bottom corners - but I can only click in the center of the pad. However I can touch click in most places (apart from bottom corners). Does anybody know how to fix this?
I've only had my MacBook Pro for 4 weeks now, I've not dropped it, knocked it or spilt anything on it, so this is pretty disappointing to say the least. I've seen a bunch of videos on youtube where people are taking their MBP apart and tightening a screw to fix the problem. My warranty is still valid and I have AppleCare so I don't want to be voiding either of those by taking it a apart and messing about inside.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a Kanex iAdapt so I can use my TV as a secondary display. It works but there are a few annoying problems.
1) When I set the display output to any of the available resolutions (480p.720P.1080i) the picture is displayed - however the edges are cut off resulting in about 5 % of the picture being lost. this means that the taskbar on my mac is barely visible.Any ideas on why this is happening and how i can get it fixed?
2)This is more of a general question. A lot of the text that is displayed is blurry around the edges on all settings. Is this always the case for using TV's for secondary monitors?

I have a Mac intel 2 x 266 intel. About a year ago, my mouse started having a mind of its own and just would slide across the screen, it just occurred every so often, but in recent times it is continually happening (at least every 3 minutes). A little embarrassing when a PC user uses my Mac and comments upon it. Any ideas how to solve?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI don't know how to really describe this other than once my computer has been on for a while the mouse starts to stutter if I move it too fast and changing windows is slower. Clicks and moments are delayed as well. I have a dual-core Macbook pro with 8GB of ram so I'm guessing it's not that and when I keep the activity window open I see nothing really strange when it's happening. I've tried closing individual apps to see if it goes away but it doesn't.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I'm watching a full screen video on my computer the mouse doesn't go off the screen and because the border of it is white you can see it at the side of the screen. After a few seconds it does disappear though but if you watch a full screen flash video such as on BBC iPlayer or YouTube, the mouse remains there with that white line sticking out on the side of the screen. Also, if you put the cursor off the bottom of the screen, the dock pops up so unless you disable the dock temporarily and then put it in the bottom right corner (where it only takes up 1 pixel).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had a bit of a dispraxic moment the other day and meant to do one keystroke but ended up doing another (I work on both the old- and new-style (aluminum) keyboards and sometimes misjudge where the keys are). Anyway, God knows what I've done but now, when I move my mouse around the screen, the desktop moves. If the cursor is in the middle of the screen, all is well, but as I move out towards the edges, the desktop moves by about 10 pixels in that direction. At first I thought it might be an issue with the settings on the monitor but I've logged onto that machine remotely this morning and it's still doing it - the frustrating thing being that now the whole screen refreshes every time I move the mouse.
View 4 Replies View RelatedRecently my mouse has started acting up. The movement is sticky, and it is hard to get it to go exactly where I want on the screen. And when it doesn't end up where I want and I try to move it again, it sticks for a nano second before it moves.

This is sort of a double post, but since this problem is way down in the original thread and pretty much a different problem (with no replies) I figured it might be worth a new post.
So...
On this 1.25ghz Tiger emac we picked up, the OS loads, and everything seems to work for a minute of so, but then the mouse stops working.
Actually the pointer still works, but I can't click anything, almost like the desktop is frozen. This does have a swollen capacitor, so I'm, not sure if that's the problem or if I just need to reload to OS.
Running 10.6.4.
Occasionally, when I scroll down (using the mouse) just a little bit at a time, the screen will jump UP, before scrolling down. This happens quite frequently, but not consistently. It's incredibly annoying.
I thought it was the mouse, so I replaced it with a new one (used to have a Microsoft "Comfort Mouse," now I've got the Mighty Mouse), and it's still happening. My guess is it's some kind of software issue.
I am working on a video, and need to capture some on-screen video of a mouse pointer interacting with a web-site. (Like a video version of screen capture) I have heard that there are programs that do this, any recommendations?

It has been running like a charm, and suddenly, the screen image starts moveing with the mouse - the desktop, all open windows, websites, everything.
You can drag it to one side or the other, and still open and close applications, use them, use the web, send and received emails - everything, but the screen moves around with the mouse, and it is driving me crazy!
I have tried resetting all the settings - Power, Display, Appearance, etc.
I have reinstalled OS X 5.2
I have run Disk Warrior and got some errors:
"User differs on "Applications/ical.app/Contents/MacOS, should be 0, user is 502", and then several similar error messages regarding "Resources", always with "should be 0, user is 502"
In Macintosh HD/Users/oBookg4/Library/Preferences/ , Disk Warrior detected that "the Property List data is damaged and cannot be repaired"
"XML parser error:
Unexpected character at line 1"
I have just installed a new Mac Pro. Everything works except I get occasional mouse pointer freezes. They last for about 1 second each time and seem to occur randomly, on average with 1-2 min intervals.
The only things I have installed on top of OS X so far driver wise is MouseWorks to power my Kensington trackball. I use my older large full-keyed white Pro keyboard and only use the smaller wireless one remotely. I have tried deactivating Bluetooth but the mouse freezes still persist.
