I just made an upgrade forr my MS Office 2011 for Mac; everything went well until I started The Outlook part. I got a message that read something like: there's an old version of Microsoft Database Daemon running; delete the daemon from the start elements and restart the computer. Now my question: how do I delete this daemon?

I keep getting an error message "Database Daemon Fatal Error" when trying to open Entourage 2008. I tried removing and re-installing Office, but each time I open Entourage I keep getting the same message: the Database Daemon has encountered an unknown error. The daemon will need to quit, and Entourage may need to be force quit.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just configured Entourage and when I went to check mail, it gave any error and suggested that I fix the database. The MS site says you click the Entourage Icon while holding down the option key and it should give you the option to fix the database. When I do so it comes up and asks for a "Fix Clock Key". I'm using the new version of Office for Mac 2008 Home/Student edition.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am running Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac on a MacBook running OS 10.6.2. I am having a problem with my Entourage database. For a while Entourage would freeze while opening, but then eventually open after a restart. Now it won't open at all, it comes up with a message that say "Entourage cannot access your data. To attempt to fix the problem, rebuild your database." So I click ok and it opens the Database Utility.
But here's the weird part: After a few seconds the Database Utility opens and comes up with a message saying I need to quit all Microsoft programs before it can run. So I do that. I even quit ALL programs except the utility. But it still comes up with another message telling me to quit all Microsoft programs. So in other words, the database utility won't run. What do I do now?
I have changed usb drives, but i tunes will not let me change the database. I have tried to delete the program from my computer and reloaded it but Itunes still finds the old database not the new one, their has to be a file some where that i can't find that keeps the old info.

My computer is a MacBook Pro running Mac OS X Version 10.7.3, 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7 with 4GB memory. Start-up has become somewhat erratic. Consistently, if I close the lid on the computer it won't restart when I reopen it. I'll have to hold the power button down for about 15 seconds, let up and then press it again. Sometimes restarting after a shutdown the computer will go through the long start-up I associate with a crash shutdown. Sometimes login start-up items don't start up. Sometimes I have to click somewhere on the screen to make the menu bar at the top of the screen visible. Overall, unexpected things keep happening. Although I don't think it probably relates, Chrome is my primary browser.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen my Mac boots it opens load of apps in my menu bar (InsomniaX, iAlertU, LogMeIn, EverNote) this is annoying, uses memory (probably) and it makes it look cluttered how do i stop them from loading.
I have checked the preferences in each app and there is nothing there and there is nothing in Login items in accounts in system prefs.
When I log into my System Profiler, I see that I have three items listed to StartUp. These items I do not use.
Now when I go into System Preferences > Accounts > Login Items, these items are not listed.
When I go into my Library, StartupItems is not listed.
I've have run a search for StartupItems on the entire machine but it's not located anywhere. Does anyone have an idea on how I may remove these items from my Start up?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently switched from Connect 360 to Vuze, mainly because I always had trouble getting Connect 360 to work, and I was only on trial. I deleted all of my Connect 360 folders, and removed it from the preference panel, leaving me with just a Connect360.prefPane sitting in my trash. When I try to empty the trash, I get the following messages:
The operation can't be completed because the item "Connect360Helper" is in use.
The operation can't be completed because the item "NRCommon" is in use.
The operation can't be completed because the item "EDCommon" is in use.
The only applications I have running are Adium, Bowtie, iTunes, Safari, Transmission, and Finder. I thought it might still be linked to finder, so I quit that and tried to empty, still not luck. So I don't think it's being used in any of my applications.
