I have installed Lion Server with Web and Profile Manager services. When I log into the profile manager web page I receive the message "Not Found The requested URL /wiki was not found on this server."

I am trying to find out how I can prevent the authenticity check used in Wiki Server (Lion).
So far I understood this is a recommended behavior from the HTTP specification and absolutely makes sense for the security.
Still, I am running in a private environment where I would like to use a login mechanism from another website.
Users need to be logged in to the other website (with identical authentication settings) before this mechanism becomes available.
I found: [URL]
But not sure where to look for when it comes to the configuration/modification of the OS X Wiki server.
Best would be to allow a simple "POST" with username and (maybe hashed) password instead of fetching and tweaking the login mechanism.
The authentication source behind is Active Directory for both cases.
The aim of this question is to have a "Single Sign On" in an environment where Kerberos is not supported.

Right now I am able to view my Wiki data only through [URL] when I try [URL] I get a 404 Not Found. One thing that I think is interesting is that [URL] and [URL] both give me the "Welcome to Lion Server" page. I enabled the Wiki service and the Web service both through the Server application. My first thought was that I needed to configure a "Web Site" under the Web service to point to the proper directory location (such as in Snow Leopard Server). I've tried several different directories for the "Store Site Files In" field, such as "/Library/Server/Web/Data/Sites/Default" and "/usr/share/collabd/coreclient/public" to no avail. The Lion Server documentation shows how to migrate wikis, but I didn't see anything about configuring the service (either in the Wiki service or the Web service).

This maybe posted in the wrong area, apologies if it is. I've been asked by people where I work to setup a Wiki. Now my initial thoughts would be that it has to go on a Windows server but looking around it can be installed/configured on OSX server. My question is, has anyone got a decent idiots guide on how to set this up. I'm waiting for a copy of Leopard server to come in which I believe has a Wiki function built in, does anyone have any experience on this?

I am using lion server and when I try to edit the content on the default wiki and click save, the screen just stays in a loop stating "Checking the page status...".
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to be able to use basic html tags like forms, iframes etc...etc.. in my Wiki in 10.7.3 Lion server. I just can't find any definitive information on how to allow these types of tags etc...previous versions seemed to talk of a whitelist....but I can find nothing on my server like this. Any attempt to add them seems to get stripped when I go and save the wiki page.

Is there a way to move the files over from the old wiki pages to the new one? how would I go about doing this? Everything else seems fine. It also seems that the whole web services is running really slow.

However, none of the users has ever received a notification after a page has been updated. Perhaps I miss something, but for me this does not work.

I'm running 10.7.3 Server to host a Wiki with a local business. Everything is running great except for one thing. Embedded media.
Whenever we attach video files or keynote media, it will play back on the machine we posted it from but once anyone else pulls up the content on their machine it will show a media playback bar but will not play back. We've tried .mov, .m4v, .mp4 etc. and it will never play back.
I'm running the OSX Lion Wiki, and using Time Machine to backup the server.
To test my backup, I restored a new computer from the TM drive. What I found was that the Wiki wasn't being properly restored.
Digging in, I found the following:
- System log indicates an error from ServerBackup during postgre backup:
Apr 24 14:11:11 radioserve ServerBackup[31725]: Error in calling backup command for service postgresql, error :=69
- The postgre database does appear to be backing up (getting dumped into a file), but then the required tarball isn't being created. A scan of /Library/Server/PostgreSQL/Backup shows only the dumpall file, and its size and time stamp do update each Time Machine backup instance.
-rw-rw-r--+ 29 root wheel 105399572 Apr 25 08:11 dumpall.psql
- Manually running ServerBackup shows the following error for postgresql:
curServicePath := /.ServerBackups/postgresql/postgresql.browse.plist
WARNING: Service postgresql folder does not exist for browsing.
I installed Lion Server on a MacMini to run a shared Wiki calendar, and all is quite well, I got the Wiki calendar page up and running and the iCal clients have successfully subscribed to it.The problem: external users can'tl log in from the internet. On our LAN they can reach the Wiki Home page at http://10.x.y.z/wiki but how do they log in from the internet ?We have a DynDNS host name, but [url] brings up an empty page.I forwarded port 8080 to our server. I did checkip -checkhostname and it looked alright to me. The server has a FQDN ourserver.name.private. that points to 10.x.y.z and the reverse lookup points to the server name.

I enabled the web and web objects including wiki and blog in server admin. I set the domain myserver.domain.org undr dns and enabled dns but when I try to enable it on the group level I run into issues. From the server and my mac book pro work group manager does not see the site. From my IMac I can enable it but when I hit save and refresh the changes are gone. I am running server 10.5.

I'm setup a master image in Lion on a MacBook Pro and sucessfully created the image and hosted it up on as a NetRestore. In this image I made a local account that I call "Local Adminisrator" with the short name "ladmin" and I use this account to install all my applications under and also set user settings like finder views, dock icons, turn off resume, turn off backwards scrolling and all those things. Typically in Snow Leopard after I have done this, these settings took affect under other users.
You may be thinking, why not just set user prefrerences under Workgroup Manager and the reason I havn't done this is my server runs Snow Leopard Server and its scheduled for upgrade for the mountain lion release. So far how I've hosted the NetResore images is in a Virtual Machine running on an iMac I have lying around.
So my question is: is there any I can create all user settings under lion in my one administrator account and then have these settings be applied for all the users? It seems like Lion just goes back to the defaults whenever a new user logs in from either active directroy or open directory,

First off: my apologies if this is a redundant post.... but I read through tons of posts with no luck in finding this one. I'm a 20+ year Mac user but new to server set up and this must have an easy answer.I got an "already set up" Panther server that was retired and put to pasture. I wanted to set it up in my home office for my kids to use with the various clients we have there. All I wanted to do was delete the server settings and start anew but am running into DNS issue with the previous server settings still being present in the server admin settings.I do not want this server "seen" outside my home network. I am connected to the net via a Westell 327W router. My internal clients need to see this "server" for AFP/file services but also need to access the web via the DHCP settings coming from the Verizon router.

I have created another entry which is functional, and I can access my network accounts, but I cannot delete the original entry. The minus key is greyed out and I can't work out how to unbind.

I have a server in our DMZ that connects to Active Directory LDAP server (non-ssl over 389) but no objects actually show up in the directory editor. I get a green light in my Network Account Server, but queries against LDAP return no results. My end goal is to be able to dictate to Profile Manager what LDAP groups are allowed to enroll devices. I tested on our internal network on a test server and get the same results. Anyone have any luck connecting a Lion Server to LDAP and actually being able to view and utilize users and groups?

I recently updated my Server running 10.7.0 to version 10.7.3 and single-sign-on no longer works for my users. The 10.7.3 Lion Server System is bound to our Active Directory Server running on Win2003 R2 Server. I tried un-binding and rebinding the system but.. no luck. When a user now tries to login to our shares via AFP with SSO credentials they recieve the message
I can run the id command from terminal on the OS X server and it is seeing AD users. Unfortunately, no one can log into the server shares via AFP with an AD user.

I am desperate for help because whatever I do I cannot get my own certificates to work. When I first set up Lion Server a so-called Intermediate CA and a corresponding SSL server certificate was automatically installed and that works fine. Now, I wanted to create my own Certificate Authority (CA) and a leaf SSL server certificate.[URL]First I created my own CA, and then I created a new certificate with the Server App (ID type "leaf", certificate type "SSL server". (see screenshots below), and I had it signed by my own CA. When I checked the certificate it said "valid".Next, I exported the certificate from the keychain (as .p12) and then I went to Server App's "Import a certificate identity" to drag and drop the certificate onto the window. So far so good.
When I opened the list of certificates (Server App -> Hardware -> SSL -> Edit ) the new certificate showed up once, and after the Server App had tried to install the certificate it simply did not show up any more. I have copied the important parts of the certificate below (private parts have been cropped). The common name and the DNS name are "myserver.domain.private", and yes, DNS is working fine.(I stopped started services and re-booted in between creating and importing the new certificate.)
