Since last day, i can't access my wiki server from any mac on my network.I've got the first web page, but when i select "Wikis", an 503 error occurs.Â

I have a pdf that I must print to buy a home. It will not print as is. I shot screen shots, brought them into Photoshop, made them jpgs and adjusted the gamma to make them very black and white. Â
It helped but the pages cannot be read. There is plenty of ink in the printer.Â

I am installing osTicket on my Mac Mini Server running 10.6.8. Â
I need to enable short_open_tag. I believe I need to make a change to the php.ini file.Â
I have tried to open it through terminal through the following comands:Â cd /etcsudo nano php.ini
got the error message Error opening terminal: xterm-256color.Â
so then I tried cd /etcsudo pico php.ini and got the same error message.Â
My Question is, to enable short_open_tag, do I need to edit the php.ini file or not. If I do, how? If not, how to I enable short_open_tag?Â

My web developer has given me a .sql file to load into MySQL. I have MySQL started with a folder selected and a password set from the Server Admin. However, that is all I know how to do. How do I get thie .sql loaded into the database or do I need to create a database. My website will not work without it.

When logging in to a remote server via Go/Connect to Server a dialog box comes up on restart with bad username info. No matter how many times I attempt to correct the info it always retains the bad user name. What and where is the preference file for this connect to server dialog box?

I am not familiar with hosting locally as I have always used GoDaddy.  There are several sites set up, so I have some "template" to go off of, but I need the basics. If i purchase the domain somewhere and the multiple sites are hosted on a single IP, how can I direct to a specific folder? Do I just create a folder within the volume all others are then make it a shared folder? Set the protocol options to match one that is alread there?Is there a beginers guide to this, and all the settings and options available somewhere?Â

I configured the web server correctly and got my site up and running correctly. Unfortunately, I tried to edit the index.html file and changed all of the CSS formatting so now my page just looks like a simple text page without any images. My HTML coding skills aren't excellent so I cannot reconfigure the file in the same format. Is there a way reset the index.html file?Â

I am trying to find out how I can prevent the authenticity check used in Wiki Server (Lion).Â
So far I understood this is a recommended behavior from the HTTP specification and absolutely makes sense for the security.
Still, I am running in a private environment where I would like to use a login mechanism from another website.
Users need to be logged in to the other website (with identical authentication settings) before this mechanism becomes available.Â

But not sure where to look for when it comes to the configuration/modification of the OS X Wiki server.
Best would be to allow a simple "POST" with username and (maybe hashed) password instead of fetching and tweaking the login mechanism.
The authentication source behind is Active Directory for both cases.Â
The aim of this question is to have a "Single Sign On" in an environment where Kerberos is not supported.Â

This maybe posted in the wrong area, apologies if it is. I've been asked by people where I work to setup a Wiki. Now my initial thoughts would be that it has to go on a Windows server but looking around it can be installed/configured on OSX server.My question is, has anyone got a decent idiots guide on how to set this up. I'm waiting for a copy of Leopard server to come in which I believe has a Wiki function built in, does anyone have any experience on this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedRight now I am able to view my Wiki data only through [URL] when I try [URL] I get a 404 Not Found. One thing that I think is interesting is that [URL] and [URL] both give me the "Welcome to Lion Server" page. I enabled the Wiki service and the Web service both through the Server application. My first thought was that I needed to configure a "Web Site" under the Web service to point to the proper directory location (such as in Snow Leopard Server). I've tried several different directories for the "Store Site Files In" field, such as "/Library/Server/Web/Data/Sites/Default" and "/usr/share/collabd/coreclient/public" to no avail. The Lion Server documentation shows how to migrate wikis, but I didn't see anything about configuring the service (either in the Wiki service or the Web service).Â

I just can't find any definitive information on how to allow these types of tags etc...previous versions seemed to talk of a whitelist....but I can find nothing on my server like this. Any attempt to add them seems to get stripped when I go and save the wiki page.Â

I enabled the web and web objects including wiki and blog in server admin. I set the domain myserver.domain.org undr dns and enabled dns but when I try to enable it on the group level I run into issues. From the server and my mac book pro work group manager does not see the site. From my IMac I can enable it but when I hit save and refresh the changes are gone. I am running server 10.5.

However, none of the users has ever received a notification after a page has been updated. Perhaps I miss something, but for me this does not work. Â

I'm running 10.7.3 Server to host a Wiki with a local business. Everything is running great except for one thing. Embedded media.
Whenever we attach video files or keynote media, it will play back on the machine we posted it from but once anyone else pulls up the content on their machine it will show a media playback bar but will not play back. We've tried .mov, .m4v, .mp4 etc. and it will never play back.
I'm running the OSX Lion Wiki, and using Time Machine to backup the server.
To test my backup, I restored a new computer from the TM drive. What I found was that the Wiki wasn't being properly restored. Â
Digging in, I found the following:Â
- System log indicates an error from ServerBackup during postgre backup:
Apr 24 14:11:11 radioserve ServerBackup[31725]: Error in calling backup command for service postgresql, error :=69Â
- The postgre database does appear to be backing up (getting dumped into a file), but then the required tarball isn't being created. A scan of /Library/Server/PostgreSQL/Backup shows only the dumpall file, and its size and time stamp do update each Time Machine backup instance.

- Manually running ServerBackup shows the following error for postgresql:

I installed Lion Server on a MacMini to run a shared Wiki calendar, and all is quite well, I got the Wiki calendar page up and running and the iCal clients have successfully subscribed to it.The problem: external users can'tl log in from the internet.On our LAN they can reach the Wiki Home page at http://10.x.y.z/wiki but how do they log in from the internet ?We have a DynDNS host name, but [url] brings up an empty page.I forwarded port 8080 to our server. I did checkip -checkhostname and it looked alright to me. The server has a FQDN ourserver.name.private. that points to 10.x.y.z and the reverse lookup points to the server name.Â

i have a domain controller and active directory based policy win 2003, one xserve running mac os x server 10.6.8 and alot of macs workstations. How can i push login script on all macs without adding it in login items? The script i want to store on smb or afp share disk, and will be edited from time to time. I've tried to add it on xserve from WGM, but it threw an error that current directory schema doesn't store desktop settings.So how can i solve this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI run 10.6.8 server in a VM with Parallels Server for Mac. Lithium pinged me early Monday morning to tell me that my calendar server wasn't reachable. I found it had kernel panicked. After resetting it and verifying the directory structure and permissions, it booted fine. But availability or free/busy wasn't working for all users! The events were all there. Invites could be sent and received but when a user checks for availability when creating events. they see the daily work hours grayed out but not anything corresponding to a scheduling conflict. Â
Things I have Tried:
- bounced ical server
- Rebooted the server
- checked the owners and permissions for the data store hierarchy. (_calendar:_calendar 750)
- checked for xattrs on .ics files in several calendars
- deleted .db.sqlite for several users in several dir in their calendar stores
- in the past I have found that some iTIP invitations seem to get "stuck' causing problems with an individual users free/busy and deleting the inbox resolves this so I deleted several inboxes
-I moved a copy of the data store to a test server and pointed several clients at it.Â
The issue persisted in all of these cases without any change in behavior with one exception; somewhere (i lost track of where) during this process users also lost their delegation preferences. I'd love to find out how and where that is stored so that it can be restored in the future. It seems pretty fragile...Â
I found one way to restore the functionality; copying a users __uid__/<GUID>/calendar out. . Moving all the folders under <GUID> out of the way and dropping the .ics files into ical with their account configured in that instance. Although this worked for selected users, I have many, many users and calendars so this solution would be suboptimal. Â

my problem is that on a restart of one of my 10.6.8 Servers parts of the Serveradmin configs are gone while some of them persists. The lost configs are everytime the same: VPN (complete) and iChat (a secondary but very important Host-Domain). Of course a can restore them from a backup but that shouldn't the standard procedure after a restart....Â
View 11 Replies View RelatedI am running an open directory/active directory network. Authentication is from the Windows server 2003 active directory. It has worked fine until the last month. Now clients stop authenticating & when I check the AD plugin it says network accounts are not available. I can force the server to unbind, then renew the binding & everything works great.Is there any work around or fix for this other than upgrading the windows server to 2008?Â

I had a goodworking SUS (10.6.8) working but the drive is getting full so i change the location of the files to another disk (in the xserve)and follow instructions from Apple (page 84 from the manual System Imaging) sudo cp -p /private/var/db/swupd/html /Volumes/My_Volume/My_Software_Updates_Folder/This works and i copy the files to a new drive. I also change the SUS so that theu host files for Lion clients url..works also, start SUS in Server Admin but when clients wants to connect i get an error that there is no SUS available and when i use the browser for an check i get een Forbidden error url...ForbiddenYou don't have permission to access /index.sucatalog on this server.Apache/2.2.21 (Unix) Server at 127.0.0.1 Port 80.

Have everything set up properly as per Apple's documentation, but all clients error out on software updates (saying they can't find the index. sucatalog file). When you view this file, which is an alias, within the HTML folder that is created when you enable the Software Update service in Server Admin, the alias doesn't link to an original.I've tried this on two separate 10.6.8 Server installations and I get the same error on both machines.Where is the alias "index.sucatalog" supposed to point to?Software Update Error Log in Server Admin says "Symbolic link not allowed or link target not accessible" and points to the alias file.
