Sep 29, 2010I just imported some pictures from my portable HDD, but the MBP got frozen in the process so I had to do it again. Now I have all my pictures imported and i'm happy with it. The problem is that every time I open iPhoto, it shows me this window: I tried importing them, but the only thing that appears is a "Recovered photo album" on the left column in the iPhoto, and it's empty. I tried finding the files in order to delete them, but couldn't find them in the directory (/users/id/pictures/iphoto/recovered...). Is this folder invisible? If so, how can I "see" invisible folders?

Oct 29, 2010I have pictures that are in the incorrect "Events." Since iPhoto '11 auto-creates Events based on the time period the photos were taken, it is inevitable to get some into an Event you don't want them in. I might take 15 pictures in the morning of the sunrise, then take some pictures at the baseball game, and then another of something that catches my eye sometime during the day, and then some more photos at sunset.
I want the sunrise/sunset/sky pics in one event, the ball game in another, and the solo picture in no event, or an event called "Misc." If iPhoto '11 lumps them all into one Sunrise Event, how do I go about separating them out?

On the faces welcome screen there is a picture of a girl and a boy. The girl is labeled "Lisa". When I first saw this I thought no way is that Steve Job's daughter, but after a quick Google search I thought again. I have an actual picture of Lisa Jobs and the picture of "Lisa" from the faces welcome screen below. What do you think?

Jul 14, 2010I have had my Macbook Pro for only about 2 months, and I'm relatively new to this Apple world. I've had no problems with using iPhoto and uploading photos to other websites... UNTIL last night! I downloaded Picasa for Mac (I've been trying to find a good photo sharing website that doesn't cost me money. I use gmail, so this seemed reasonable.)... and I swear, something has happened. I'm fairly certain it is connected with downloading the Picasa plug-in.
I have searched high and low in every corner of this Macbook, and my picture FOLDERS are nowhere to be found. My photos are still in iPhoto, and the APPLICATION shows up in my Pictures folder, but no folders with the photos themselves. Does that make sense? The photos are in iPhoto, but not stored in any folders anywhere on the computer. This is rather distressing. Has anyone heard of this happening before??? Or does anyone have any advice for me??? I can't share any of my photos anymore until I find a way to fix this! I keep trying to upload photos, but they are nowhere to be found when I do so!

Oct 1, 2010I have a Mac Mini (previous model to the aluminium one) and I have just got a Kanex MDP to HDMI adapter. I plugs into the MDP and USB and it take A/V.However there are no setting that allow me to fit the whole picture perfectly on the screen.
With my old HDMI adapter I used the 1280x720 setting, however no such thing exists now.How can I get round this?

Mac Mini :: Won't Boot And Has Picture Of Switch On Screen
Sep 8, 2010I just bought a Mac Mini and all technical help is closed right now. I am very frustrated as the one I bought yesterday had no display output. The system starts and gets to a screen that has what looks to be a switch that needs to be changed. I have looked at the entire box and can not see a switch that needs to be changed. I have taken a picture and have put it on here. I have googled it and can not find anything. My mouse and keyboard are both new wireless so I have nothing I can even use there. I am enclosing a picture of the screen. I also only have power and monitor plugged in.

Sep 22, 2009I feel like I've read every thread on every forum, and they all cover the same issues. I've spent FAR too many hours trying to hook this up and I'm asking for your help. I have the mini dvi to hdmi adapter, with the hdmi going into the tv. I only have one hdmi input on my TV so I know it's turned to the right input. I've tried mirroring, I've tried switching hdmi cables, and even bought another adapter. I had the picture up yesterday just clicking on settings but it was when the screen wasn't mirrored, and it was treating it as another display. Now I can't even get that to work. I've tried every resolution. I plug it in, and detect the monitor, and it brings up two windows. One is "color lcd" and the other is "TSB-H66S".

Oct 22, 2010I purchased a new Mac Mini today (latest base version from Apple Store). I also purchased an LG 2240 (LED backlit) 22" monitor.
The monitor only has a VGA connection therefore I am using the VGA>Mini Display port converter from apple.
The monitor is generally working fine however the display / quality is very grainy, making the text very hard to read. Also although the text is crisp and jagged in quality.
