View 3 RepliesOk, Here is the scoop. I am trying to get Wifi to work on my macbook while on XP. When I put in the disk and it says "The package requires a newer version of Windows Installer. Would you like to update?" I say yes and it says "The requires resoruce update is missing." and if I click no it says "The operation is aborted." or something.

View 22 Replies View RelatedI just bought the high end macbook pro 13" (2.53 GHz) today and I have a question about which version of windows to install on the boot camp partition. I saw a couple of videos on youtube showing pretty smooth performance of GTA IV on a MacBook Alu 13" 2.4 ghz model using BootCamp Windows Vista SP1. I dont want to install Windows Vista SP1 just because of that video and I want to know which version could give me even better performance. Both official and unofficial windows versions of XP, 7 and vista are under consideration. I dont need windows for anything else, just for playing a couple of games.

In order to install Windows 7 via bootcamp, do you have to use the full version of windows or can you use the upgrade disc to install? I figured I should ask before buying another license as I have an upgrade version of Windows 7 Pro that I don't use. I do own previous versions of Windows (all of them....just like I do Mac OS).

I have a Macbook Unibody 2.4 and an iMac Aluminum 2.8 C2E. I just wanted to play around with Windows 7, not cause any serious issues, and just, you know, try it out; not do any serious testing. For my purposes, do you think Im better off downloaded the 64-bit of 32-bit version? And which computer will handle windows 7 better?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI am using a MBP 17" (2010 model). The trackpad functions very well under Mac OS/X.However, under Windows Vista 64-bit, it does not behave as if it were under Mac OS. For example, even I did not click on the trackpad, it did it by itself. Is it a driver problem or setting problem? I know that under bootcamp, we can change the trackpad settings. If it is the latter case, could anybody please let me know the configurations/settings that allow the trackpad to behave exactly the same it does under Mac OS/X?

View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen downloading the new version to upgrade an old one, is the new one installed on top of the old version, or is it just upgraded? Simply put, should I delete the old version and then install the new, or is this unnecessary? Hard drive space is at a premium, which is why I ask.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm convinced that the next version of OSX will allow you to install and run natively all iPhone and iPad apps, with future screens being touch enabled, and those that aren't let you use the mouse instead of your finger when gesturing. I can't wait till I can install and run the facebook app on a MBP, for no reason in particular, just because I can.

I'm trying to install a retail version of OS X Tiger on an iBook G3 600mhz but all I'm getting is a blue screen after the initial grey screen with white apple logo. I've managed to get OS X Panther on it no problem but Tiger is just not playing ball. I'm having to boot up in Target Disk mode or use an external Firewire DVD player and it does the same thing every time. What I can say is that the iBook only has 128mb of RAM at present but I'm upgrading that in a day or two and I didn't think that would necessarily prevent the OS from being installed. Oh and it doesn't need a firmware upgrade.
