on imac 27" running 10.7.4 on 4year old sony DVD 4.7gb vers 1.1 (bought before the authors right taxe was implemented) refuses to burn. Gives the message it is incapable to calibrate the power of the laser. Is this a technical method to veryfy the DVD is compliant with the tax?Â

New to iMac, just trying to do something I could do on the PC without any trouble. Can't seem to get the burn folder to burn to a new CD-R. Can't seem to get the iMac to recogmize that there is a CD in the drive.
Have tried more than one CD. It does eject, but stalled out on the transfer.
I miss my PC. this has taken an hour for something that should be--well--easy.

I have a new iMac which I'm attempting to connect to my Sony KDL-46S5100 LCD Television via HDMI. The TV will not recognize the computer. I have confirmed that my adapter and cable work by testing the connections on a MacBook Pro - that worked fine. However, when I plug the adapter into my iMac the TV says "no signal" and the iMac does not recognize the TV. I went to the Apple store earlier and they were able to get the computer to connect to their TV with no problem.

I have downloaded the appropriate software and connected the camera to the iMac via the supplied USB cable. The camera icon does not appear on the desktop and the camera gives a message "USB Mode Connecting... Check connected device" To me this is meaningless. How do I download my photos and my movies to iPhoto '11 and iMovie '11? This is a new camera and I'm very disappointed in it, as my previous Sony camera was a delight to use and download from.

I have an iMac (early 2008) and I would like to use my Sony Bravia TV (46EX520) as a monitor. Pretty easy so far but the trick is that I would like to do it wirelessly. I have the Sony wireless / LAN adaptor (UWA-BR100) which enable me to connect my TV to my modem/router (D-Link DSL-2730B). Â However, I do not want to stream movies, music or pictures from my computer to my TV. I want to use the TV as computer screen. I've got a 27" iMac quad-core i7 running Lion and a Sony VPL-CX5 video projector. The projector is no longer support by Sony and Lion doesn't have an included driver to make it recognize the projector as a display device. I'm trying to find some sort of adaptor that the iMac will recognize as a display that will send a video or s-video (or even vga) signal to the projector. Â

I use a mini display port to HDMI to get the video and i use audio Y cable splitter for the audio.i can get video but not sound. If i disconnect the HDMI cable from the T.V. then i can get sound. If the HDMI cable and the audio cables are connected at the same time i can get video but no sound. I called Sony and according to them there is no setting on the T.V. that would help. My theory is that it's some kind of setting in the imac that prevents it from sending audio and video to the tv at the same time. Unfortunately i have not been able to figure it out.Â

I have a 21.5in iMAC (mid 2010) and I keep trying to burn a disc with photos on it. It appears to be burning normally at first then during the second half of the burn (the verification bit) it starts making clunky noises and then ejects the CD. I've tried several new blank discs and several different makes as well, and it spits them all out. It says 'error code 0x80020063' I can read CDs fine.Â
