OS X :: Hear A Custom Sound Clip After I Hear The APPLE Firmware Chime?
Feb 17, 2009It's my understanding that the start up chime you get when you start up on any Mac,c an NOT be changed because that sound is in the firmware. Cool.
That being said, is there anyway to add/hear your own custom sound clip AFTER that?
Does any one know how to do it?

May 28, 2012I have two different iMacs: late 2011 and Mid 2010. Both imacs wifi stop working after sleep mode. ***?! Ipod and iphones work properly at is time. I have checked disk utils and fixed permissions. Everything is updated. Maybe there is the way to reenable wifi module without rebooting my computers?
Im very dissapointed apple imacs. Lcd of mid 2010 being changing for the second time. Last time it worked ok for 5 month. ***?! Is it ok for lcd screen? Or maybe I should turn into hackintosh to avoid poor-quality hardware? Rofl. **** I have only apple devices and starting nervous about it.

May 10, 2012the speaker in my iMac doesn't work anymore. I tried to adjust the volume but it doesn't "click" everytime I go up or down a level. Can't hear anything from iTunes, browser, and few other programs. Not sure what happened but hopefully it's not a hardware issue. I bought my iMac back in 2007 or 2008. It is an Intel Mac.

Jul 2, 2012I had a problem with my mac osx. I can't here sound from the computer. I don't have headphones In, and even with headphones still nothing. The oddest thing about this problem is that it's only under my account. It works when my roomates sighed In. I did dowload somthing but It was a while before this happend, and I dont know how long it takes viruses to kick in. Any help is apprieated. And I did chck the settings and everything was ok.

Jun 14, 2012new imac but for some reason, the notification sounds won't come through. We can't hear them at all.Â
Downloaded twitter app via app mac store and we set up mail correctly.Â
Also, went in to preferences on the twitter app and selected that we wanted the notification sound. we did the exact same on the mail app.Â
But still, no sounds. And yes, we do have the volume up

Intel Mac :: It Randomly Goes To Sleep / Previous Sleep Cause: -100?
May 16, 2012iMac (24 inch Early 2009, 2.93 GHz Core 2 Duo, Lion 10.7.3) randomly goes sleep. No hot corners, never sleep setting.  It seems it goes to sleep more often when CPU is busy and graphic intensive jobs running (videos, gaming). I cleaned up air ways by vaccume, but it did not help.Â
Temp monitor showed
CPU 55C
power supply 95C
northbridge 89C
graphic processer goes up to 86C
when it went to sleep for no apparent reason./private/var/log/kernel.log says "Previous Sleep Cause: -100"

Jul 30, 2009My MBP goes off to sleep while I work in the VM(Fusion,XP). I tried different settings without success.
I run the machine for 95% of the time on the power adapter with once a week draining the battery before loading again.
It is very annoying that I have to go manually across(locked in mouse) to the osx and knock the space bar to be able to continue on the VM.
MacBook Air :: Deep Sleep Not Appear To Be Working?
Oct 27, 2010Deep sleep does not appear to be working on my MBA. If close the lid and open it in the next few minutes, it wakes from sleep normally. If I close the lid and let it sit for a while, then open it, I have to press the power button and wait for it to boot all over again. The battery is fully charged.

After waking my Mac mini from sleep, my keyboard won't respond at all. I tried:
- Plugging it into a different USB port, including the one on my monitor
- Using the mouse to wake the computer up from sleep instead of the keyboard
- Switching to a different, wired keyboard (had a wireless before)
Both keyboards used were off-brand (non-Apple) keyboards, but I've had a couple before these two that never had a problem whatsoever.

Jul 2, 2014After Mavericks Update 10.9.4 sleep mode are not working properly.My Mac Pro goes to sleep but after a amount of time (sometimes minutes, sometimes seconds)the Mac awakes with black screen (monitors in sleep, the mac not). Pressing mouse or keyboard button awakes my monitors. Previews of 10.9.4 nor in earlier releases..Reseting the NVRAM/PRAM doesn't solve my problems.Â

MacBook :: Sleep Indicator Has Stopped Working?
Jan 15, 2009I noticed a couple of days ago that my sleep indicator has stopped working. When I shut the lid the computer goes to sleep.... when i open it back up after 30 seconds or a minute msn tries to reconnect and i heard the cd make that little noise that it does... anyone know of anything i could try to make it work again?
This is my first mac, it's a Macbook Aluminum Unibody 13" 2.0GHz... this is the only problem I've encountered.... I know it's pretty minor, but I like things to work as they're supposed to, especially when they're this new.

ITunes :: Its Airplay Not Working After Sleep Mode
May 26, 2012I have an airport express that is configured properly but for some reason iTunes cannot find it after it wakes up in the morning. To fix it I have to restart the computer. My computer is connected to a time capsule via an ethernet cable and the airport express extends the same network wirelessly. My computer goes to sleep everynight at 1 am and wake up at 7am. I like my coffee and bbc every morning and am tired of having to go downstairs to the restart my computer to get the airplay working again. This started happening about four or five months ago.

OS X :: Keyboard Stops Working After Mac Mini Wakes From Sleep?
Aug 8, 2007I have an obscure brand USB keyboard that I am trying to use with my Mac Mini, with one problem: after the Mini goes to sleep and wakes up again, the keyboard doesn't work. The solution is to either unplug and replug the keyboard or restart, but both are I think unnecessary hassles.
What I like even more is that the keyboard will wake the Mini (by pressing the spacebar or something), but won't work after that.
I also tried a plain ol' Apple keyboard, which works just fine after sleeping/waking.
Any ideas on what's going wrong, or how to fix it without replugging/restarting? It's just a keyboard, so I don't see why it should pose as any real problem after waking, so buying a new keyboard is not quite what I am looking for. I may end up doing it anyways (a wireless one to go with the wireless MX1000 I am using) but at the moment I don't want to spend money for a new keyboard.
It's a 1.66GHz Core Duo, 512MB RAM, 60GB HD, OS X 10.4.10.
Hardware :: Magic Mouse Not Working After Every Computer Sleep?
May 12, 2010Every time my computer goes to sleep, the connection to my magic mouse is lost. I have to press the button on the bottom and get the Bluetooth to find my mouse again everytime, but then it works fine. The battery level is at 93%. It loses the mouse connection every time the computer goes to sleep. I even set the mouse as a favorite, and it did nothing.

Mar 20, 2012I just upgraded to Lion, on a MacMini, and now everytime I use sleep mode, I can't wake my lion up again because key presses or mouse clicks don't work anymore. I can still move the pointer, but OS does not respond anymore to mouse clicks or keyboard. Have to power down, then start up again. Keyboard & mouse then work until the next time the lion sleeps.Â
This is quite annoying, as I'm an intermittent style of user who relies on sleep mode a lot. Â
Lion is nice when it works, but it has introduced problems I've never had before. And booting into Lion is way slower than Leopard or Snow Leopard were. At least double the time, or more.Â
Should mention I'm also using a Logitech denovo wireless keyboard and a Logitech M570 wireless trackball.Â
Connecting a standard USB keyboard and/or mouse, once the lion has gone to sleep, does not solve anything. The OS still does not respond.Â

MacBook :: OS X Mavericks (10.9.1) Sleep Sensor Isn't Working Properly
Sep 4, 2014Just this morning, I opened my MacBook which had been sleeping overnight. for some strange reason, even when the screen was up, the light at the button was still glowing (indicating it was asleep). I tried forcing it to shutdown. When I turned it on again, it went to sleep mode right when the desktop was about to load. I tried booting from Windows 7 but sure enough, when I reached the login screen, the computer went to sleep. I concluded that it was definitely a sleep sensor problem.
