Intel Mac :: How To Stop Spam Mailbox Getting Hundreds A Day

I've set up Gmail on my mac mail account but I cannot work out how to stop the spam mailbox getting hundreds a day. Its up to about 6000 now. I can of coruse just clear it out, but then I still keep getting messages in my 'Mail Activity' section saying that more mail is incoming and builds back up again.I know spam is not really a major issue if its just getting caught up in the rightful section anyway, but its just an irritant to get so much spam and seeing my Mail Activity box constantly active.

I have recently switched to MacMail. But all my inward mail is going to the Spam folder. How do I prevent that? And how do I transfer the e-mails from Spam to the appropriate mailbox?

I have an Apple ME account and recently been receieving spam from a Cialis seller. The emails don't have my address but someone else's (the same address each time), yet they come to my mailbox. Each time it's from a different sender. how to stop this?

Today I just received a spam via iTunes. It seems to have legitimately come from Apple, as the "Received:" line added by my ISP's mail server line is: Received: from badger1301.apple.com ([17.254.6.174]) by m1pismtp01-010.prod.mesa1.secureserver.net with ESMTP; 11 May 2012Â

My iTunes account contact preferences don't permit Apple to send me any junk. How is it that Apple is allowing unknown third-parties to spam me? (And, more importantly, how do I get it to stop?)

In the last six hours, I received hundred of spam emails. The iMail on my Macbook Pro is just receiving these emails and I can't figure out how to stop them. I even don't receive emails from anyone (or I am not sure if I am receiving them because I select all emails and delete them).
I tried to check iMail preferences hoping that I can find something but nothing has happened.

I have an email address for a small business that I have started. I use GMAIL. I know for a fact that this email address ends up in peoples spam/junk mail folders and is resulting in lost communication etc.

I would like to be able to store deleted emails indefinitely until I empty the trash mailbox. Even though I check "never" in the mailbox behavior, it only keeps the messages for 30 days.

How do I delete SPAM without selecting it. On my older Mac there was a way, but on my newer one I can't figure out how to do it. When I select the SPAM messages they open immediately. I'm assuming that merely opening it sends a message to those who've spammed me.Â

I am having problem with email.. I will receive messages that mail puts in the spam folder that is not spam. I drag it into my inbox and reply to it, but the reply from the sender continues to go into spam.

I received an e-mail from an old friend with an attachment.I inadvertently clicked on it and it started to download;which i stopped. Nothing shows up on my desktop,what steps/where should I look to see if there's any potential spam? I guess I should consider my e-mail could be compromised?

Two days ago started finding about 50-60 "Mail not delivered" emails a day in my Junk folder. Appears to be countless emails sent from me and returned undelivered back to my IP administrator and then a notice sent to me. I called them- they don't seem to know or care. These get stopped by the Junk filter at Bell support / Outlook.comSame message - different names over and over. Changed password. Computer is off. Access email on remote computer and they keep showing up. Is this coming from my computer system, my IP or some 3rd party? Here is a a typical email 13 just showed up. I have grayed out my address..

I have tried to save messages. I have tried to import both *.mbox directories (and I renamed a saved raw message source file renamed with the mbox extension). None of these worked. I always get 'No valid Mail for Mac OS X files were found'.

For no reason at all, all my folders under my active mailbox have disappeared? I've tried locating my library and then the mail folder - but there is no 'Mail' folder in my Library and I've just checked all my back up (Time Machine) logs and there never has been? Where else can I retrieve my folders.

We have changed e-mail providers and I want to archive my current saved e-mails in Mac Mail. I saw an earllier discussion about creating folders in Mac Mailbox and moving e-mails manually into the folders. I've set up a series of folders.  How do I move my e-mails from the Concast folders to the new folders I've now created in Mac Mail?Â

I have been using my parents OS X login primarily for my computer life. I have made videos, played games, etc. using one account. But I decided to make my own account, and have had some success transferring files. However, the permissions are still set to the other account. So in iMovie, I can watch my videos but not edit them, since I have read-only permissions. I could easily go into finders "get info" menu and change permissions, but I have hundreds upon hundreds of imovie projects. So, how can I change the permissions of hundreds of files at a time? Editing the folders permission didn't work.

I noticed that iPhoto created hundreds of copies of my photos while looking for faces and they are stored in the iPhoto library. I don't like the faces feature because it doesn't really work and I would like to delete these extra files from the library to regain lost space. My question is, will iPhoto just keep trying to recreate face files every time I open the app or do I have to click on the faces tab to make it start trying to generate face image files? And is it a problem to just delete these face files? Does iPhoto make additional copies of these face files in other folders as well or would it all be contained inside the iPhoto library folder that is in my pictures folder?

Used MacKeeper to identify duplicates which I have passed to Trash only to find that in many instances ALL of those files have passed to trash. I need to retrieve the originals. SO I want to know if I can select the items I want to permanently delete from Trash without losing the ones I want to keep.
