Sep 4, 2014I've made a slideshow (about 24 mins) in iMovie and 'shared' it onto my desktop. I've tried to burn it to dvd (+R) lots of different ways but all failed. I have iDVD on my MAC and am using Mavericks. I'm putting it down to 'pilot error' or possibly my age!

May 22, 2012I originally had an iPod touch, and recently bought myself an iMac and I love them both. Â
One problem confuses me though. I recently paired my iPod to my iMac through bluetooth, because I normally keep my cable in my car for playing my music while I am driving. Â
I'm trying to do a simple task of sending photos and videos taken via my iPod to store on my iMac via bluetooth. It seems when I go to the 'Browse Device' option for the iPod, this is not supported, it says that the device does not have the neccessary services or something.Â
Now I have done a bit of research, and discovered an App for doing this, which I have to pay for...Â
Am I missing something here? Surely this is a feature that should be the most basic of basic of basic features that anybody who has paid out a massive amount of money for a really good computer should have as standard? Afterall, they are both Apple products, and one of the selling points of Apple is that all Apple products work seamlessly together, in sincing and all that jazz. Don't get me wrong, I love both products, they do work pretty **** well, when a cable is used... but surely, I must be missing something. Bluetooth has been out for years and years, and Apple are supposed to be so good at this sort of thing?Â
Anyhoo, I'm sure that there's a simple feature I'm missing, and one of you inteligent Apple boffins will be able to enlighten me as to what I'm doing wrong, for example maybe there's a Wifi feature I should be using instead?.. I've only been using an Apple for a few weeks so far, and I'm still getting used to it. Â

Applications :: Unable To Burn Videos Via Toast / Burn Files From A Network?
Sep 17, 2010It is supposed to be the best burning package on mac. But I doubt it. I convert videos to dvd-video format using the absolutely brilliant windows7 application convertxtodvd. Please dont tell me to use a mac application instead of it. I tried it many times, there were always several problems(slow speed, subs etc). This is not the case here.
So, I want these dvd-videos in Video_ts format, to be burned in dvd disks using toast. It is supposed that video_ts folder are a standard folder, no matter the system you use. But toast has a different opinion. When I drag the folder in the dvd-video window, it asks to re-encode the video!!!If I try to burn this video_ts folder in windows machine using 'nero', no problem at all, straight burning! I really cannot understand why this happens.
Another problem I have is that the files I want toast to burn, usually reside to network computer. Is there any way to burn files from a network computer(win) using toast? Can toast access network or not? If not, I have to manually copy files to local disk, several minutes spent for copying gigabytes just to be able to burn them.

Apr 24, 2012I cant import any photos or videos without iphoto crashing. I have an Ipad2 and iphone4 with a brand new imac running Lion. Since I bought my imac it has always had problems with iphoto. I have removed iphoto and reinstalled a fresh copy of it via the CD that came with my imac. Also, I have no plugins installed so no divx or anything like that.

Apr 21, 2012My old PC broke and I had someone recover the data of the harddrive for me, he told me he would recover the data so it worked on Macs. All the music, songs etc are working, however the videos are not working. The videos are in '.avi' and some are in '.mpg'Â
When I try to open them it says "the document "DOCUMENTNAME.MPG" could not be opened. A required codec isnt available.."Â There is a button that says tell me more, when I press it, it takes me to this page, [URL]which doesnt make a lot of sense to me. Would someone help me open and save my files in the correct format!?Â

May 23, 2009I just recently got my mac. Its been s struggle but I love it! Few problems though. Firstly, how do I put movies from my computer onto a dvd? Make up a dvd that can play in a dvd player. Its a blu ray player, im not sure if that makes a diff, think I just have to check what types of files it plays and change them accordingly. So how do i burn a movie onto a dvd?
Other question, Im having a problem with my wireless internet. My macbook works fine everywhere else and nobody else i live with have any problems. Just my computer in my house. The internets REALLY slow. I rang NTL and they said its your computer, so rang apple and they did some tests and said its your network so I rang NTL again and they gave me a number for netgear, the people who make the router. They were NO help, you can't call them from a mobile phone and I dont have a housephone. Is there anything I can do?
Id appreciate any help I can get!!
