OS X :: System Preferences Always Requires Authentication After Restart?
Sep 6, 2010I'm running 10.6.4. I have noticed for quite a while now (pre 10.6.2?) that after restarting my computer or logging out I have to re authenticate in System Preferences, even just to use Energy Saver! Once authenticated, everything stays normal until my next restart. I am admin and have one other test account which is standard.
This is extremely annoying when I want to quickly change something trivial like my network settings or whatever and I have to type in a complicated password.

Jul 3, 2012Whenever I need to restart my MacBook Pro, a bunch of my preferences are lost. For example, I have to drag Google Chrome back in the dock. I lose my Expose preferences, login items I've disabled still pop up. Keyboard shortcuts with Spotlight (which I keep disabled because of a program I use), get set to default. It's terrbily frustrating to have to reset all these things over and over again and I can't find the answer. Part of it is I'm not terribly saavy with computer language. I can find the Terminal and type in commands though.

May 1, 2012I have a 2007 imac and have done all updates that I know of but the transition to icloud is not working very well. Â
1) icloud does not have an icon in system prefernces, it's still mobile me. Although there is a message that states the account has been moved, I cannot sync etc.Â
2) two of my email addresses will not stay connected in mail. Since moving to icloud I have had to reinstall them everyday.Â
3) I host three websites from iweb but since the change to icloud I cannot find my former account where I can access my web domain info that used to be easily found in my mobile me account page. Â

Jun 17, 2014I bought a new iMac in November 2013 which has a wireless keyboard and mouse, which worked well but won't connect since OS was updated. I've looked in System Preferences and there is no symbol for Blutooth. In System Report / Blutooth it says 'No Information Found'. It's strange because the keyboard and mouse worked fine up to downloading and installing the update (to OSX 10.9.3.)Â How I can get the Blutooth up and running again?
