I recently purchased a Time Capsule to use as a wireless hard drive. I connect to the internet both through wifi and ethernet to a educational network that does not allow extra routers, etc, to be added to the network, therefore I can not use the time capsule for this wifi.
I therefore want to connect to my early 2009 MBP17unibody to both the academic internet network for http/pop3/ftp/etc while simultaneously connecting to external hard drive to store data/itunes-library/etc.
I expect this has been asked before but I can't find any threads where it has. If anyone knows it would be highly helpful. I'd prefer to connect to both wirelessly but I could potentially put up with connecting to either or both with ethernet.

When I live at my brother's house, I connect to my brother's network which gives me wireless internet. Is it possible for my TC to, instead of being plugged in directly to his router with an ethernet cord, pick up his network's wireless internet and output it on it's own network?
In case that question makes no sense, what I want to do is connect to my TC's network (so I have access to the hard drive) but still get my brother's internet connection.

My MacBook Air (13-inch, mid-2013) takes a long time to connect to any wi-fi network (~ 30 seconds), including known/previously connected ones. Upon wake from sleep, the network will have disconnected and will have to reconnect, again taking about 30 seconds. Also, I notice that even when the display turns off briefly, the network will still disconnect. It does not matter which network it is. However, Power Nap notifications will still show up and be up to date upon wake, suggesting that the disconnection is happening only when I wake the computer.Â
Things I have tried:
- removing all networks
- toggling wake for wi-fi network access and put hard disks to sleep when possible
- setting Location
- deleting all network system preference files and restarting
- resetting SMC
- restoring OS X Mavericks (10.9.3, clean install) with no recovery of network settingsÂ

Just replaced a 500 gb time capsule with a new dual band 1 tb time capsule (first one died). My iMac, ipods, ps3 and wii all can connect to the network and work great. My wife's HP laptop, which worked fine 3 days ago, isn't connecting well. It picks up the "excellent" signal to connect to the local network made by the time capsule, but can not connect to the bigger internet. In other words, no browsing, email...etc. the signal is "excellent, and all other devices in the house can "see" and use the internet

So I've got an odd problem, here's the scenario: 27" iMac 2.8GHz Quad Core running OS X 10.7.1, and a netgear router (connected to a Comcast modem). It sees the network, connects then drops the network. However, a MacBook Air running 10.6.8, an iPad, and a Sony Viao running Windows 7 can connect and stay connected to the network fine. This made me think that something with the iMac's WiFi card is broken so we brought it to work and connected it to our network (802.11x, WPA2 Enterprise, Cisco routers) and it worked perfectly. He brought it back home, still couldn't connect to his network. We brought it to the campus Apple store and they replaced the airport card and it seemed to resolve the problem for a bit, but now the issue has come back.Yesterday we did a full time machine back up, wiped the hard drive and did a full OS X Lion re-install and restored from the Time Machine back up, ran all of the Apple software updates and it connected to the WiFi here at work fine.Brought it home, still won't connect to his network. This would make me think that it's an issue with his home network but all the other devices are working fine.We had a Comcast technician look at the network and they found nothing wrong.

I have an older (white) iMac that connects wirelessly to my Linksys router. I bought a new iMac and I am unable to connect both iMacs wirelessly at the same time. I was wondering if the issue had to do with using the same Apple ID's, but I don't think that is the case. It seems like the old iMac is connected to the router, the new one wont connect and vise versa.

I've seen this question asked before, but it was all related to people who are running lion. I have 10.5.8, which I believe is leopard. Whenever I try to connect to airport, I get my network from the list, enter the password then I get a connection timeout after about 15 seconds. We have had this problem for a while now. We just got a new router this week and I'm still have this problem.

I've just joined a Time Capsule to my existing wifi network and it's working fine. However, if I try to connect a computer to the LAN port, I can't ping the TC. Is this by design?

Mac won't connect to internet even though wifi is connected. Message "network configuration has changed". I click on assist and the end result is that the wifi disconnects and I get the same message. Other devices connect to the wifi like my itouch and husbands laptop that runs windows. What do I need to do to get this to run? Previous times when this happened I was able to go through the diagnostic steps to reconnect and wifi would connect to internet not anymore.

I have a pretty old Titanium Mac Book that runs OS 10.3.9. It's a moderately slow machine, but still works- and although I realize that it won't be able to stream video or anything, I figure it would work for email, and basic web browsing- But I'm wondering if it's going to be compatible with any new products such as a USB wifi antenna - because the room where I want to use it won't alow for an ethernet connection-  Also, will the old 10.3.9 OS allow me to connect wifi to the newer airport extreme base stations?Â

It is on my home network which I have been using for months. I have made no changes to my router or network setting. Other devices will still connect to the wifi with no problem and I connect through the ethernet connection with no problem. I have disabled the wifi and restarted my computer with no luck.

I have a network that is made of up a Time capsule as a base station and 3 airport express's used to extend my wifi coverage. It is setup as a roaming network with each express hardwired to the base time capsule. I have a iMac that will not connect to the base station, it will only connect to one of the remote express's. The iMac is next to the base satation. Other mac notebooks, iPhone or iPads all connect to the base station when they are near it. Only my iMac will not connect to it.

I am writing this from a Panera Bread, as my school's internet won't work on my MacBook since a fresh install of SL.There isn't much to say, except I cleared out all my old Airport profiles, and my old networks. My school will let me connect for about 5 minutes, then it kicks me off (I see the exclamation point over the Airport icon in the menubar). I checked a friends MB without SL, and she is connecting no problem. My school's network was never protected according to Airport (never saw the padlock), but whenever I would go to connect it would ask for my username and password.

I have the original 1st generation Core Duo MacBook, and I'm having some trouble with the wifi. Often, when I go to a new location like to a library or a friend's house, I won't be able to connect to the wifi (it will timeout) or it will connect, but the signal strength will be very weak or the internet will be very slow.
It's not that it's out of range, I'm in an area that's known to have wifi and others around me can pick it up fine with full strength. At home, my wifi works fine, but the router is in the same room I use the computer in.
