View 6 Replieshave been making movies with imovie for the past few years. Today I imported from my camera, could see the clips moving in imovie when being transported, but when I tried to edit the clips, all I could get was a screen frozen with a picture, no movement, but could hear the sound. Then when I tried to open an already saved imovie (that had already been burned to iDVD successfully), the same thing happened.
I recently updated to Lion and now when I open videos in email I have sound but no picture.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI now have lion on my iMac. I cannot get sound while watching you tube videos. An x appears over the sound icon. How can I get the sound to come on.

Yesterday, I was prompted to instal a software update, which I did. Everything seemed fine and I closed (did not turn off) my macbook. Today, when I opened my laptop, everything was frozen. I force quit. Turning my laptop back on, I get a gray screen with a blinking floder with a question mark. When I try to follow the instructions from the Apple support page for this issue, it doesn't work - it seems like there are no startup disks on my computer at all. I have a month's worth of data I can't lose. I'm not sure what operating system I have (I realize I sound completely incompetent). I bought my laptop at the end of December 2011; it's OS X Lion, but beyond that, I'm not sure).

After installing Snow Leopard, none of the Youtube video controls work properly for me anymore.
Pause and play barely work until I click them multiple times, I can't adjust volume, and can't skip to where I want in the video.
Anyone else experiencing these problems?
Is it a flash player issue?
I was just surfing the net and suddenly my macbook pro 13 got frozen with a loud "beep" every few seconds (the same sound as that of upgrade booting). What happened? I've shut down and then it restarted as usual.

During the past few hours I've tried to load gmail and youtube in FF and Safari multiple times, but every time I do I get the spinning wheel of death. The pages will load and whenever I try to click on something I will get the wheel.
Yesterday I was on a myspace page and I received a message saying something about how the Adobe page scripts for that page were being unresponsive or something? I'm not sure exactly what it said...
Anyways, is there any way I can get this resolved? It sounds like it has to do something with a plug-in or an update.
When I try to play a video on QuickTime I can hear the sound and the bar at the bottom moves across but there's no picture. I have Windows, not a Mac.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I play movies using QuickTime player, I see the picture but hear no sound. The sound will appear for about two seconds and then cut off completely. I don't understand what is causing this problem and I have tried to update it with no avail.

The sound works fine otherwise (though it's never loud enough on this machine - I think the speakers may have issues). Regardless, for youtube ONLY, it will play video fine and maddeningly... no sound! I got this machine used and I don't seem to recall that it had this problem a couple years ago, but that one day it just stopped having audio for youtube. I have already tried resetting the PRAM and PMU - no effect.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHello, I have a 2009 Quad and sometimes the sound works in vista and sometimes it doesn't. Does anyone know why or know of a fix?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever I go to watch a YouTube video, no video plays its just sound. I've tried using three different browsers (Safari, Google Chrome, FireFox) all to no avail.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a youtube video that is a tribute/interview of my grandmother, who unfortunately just passed away. YouTube has stripped the audio because on some parts of the video there is background music. I would really like to be able to watch/download this video with the audio - does anyone know a way to get around this?
fwiw: I don't have the original file, and downloading the video via pwnYouTube results in a silent mp4 file.
I have a Quad Core Mac Pro which is running Snow Leopard 10.6.4. I have 8 gigs of memory. I am using Safari 5 and the latest version of Flash Player.
This issue doesn't happen all the time but once it occurs it will keep happening until I quit Safari and then reopen it. After that it will begin happening again after a certain period of time.
It seems to occur when I have Safari open for extended periods of time and the memory pageouts increase. When I play music through the Rhapsody player, youtube or hulu and visit various sites at the same time, there's a popping or stuttering in the audio for a second or two.
The popping noise will occur when browsing a site while playing audio in Safari either through Youtube, Hulu or Rhapsody. The noise will occur when I click on a link to go to a website.
the Popping will occur when I quit Safari as well, it's sort of like a sound that shouldn't be there. It sounds almost like static electricity when you touch it.
The only thing that stops the popping is by Quitting Safari and reopening it. After that I won't hear the noise while browsing sites for a period of time. It will come back eventually though.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Flash player, repaired permissions in disk utility, rebuilt my drive with Disk Warrior, reinstalled Safari, and installed the 10.6.4 Combo update but the issue remains.
Recently I am unable to see video on youtube. I do hear the sound of the video but the screen remains black.the same videos work perfectly on google's chrome on the same mac.

Before my new iMac took 2 minutes to boot up and I re-installed SL and it is now fixed but now, like the 27 inch, the videos on youtube are really choppy and the sound is messed up. It only happens occasionally and is fixed with a restart and is really annoying. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I've tried to download an app and it froze, so I tried to cancel it and couldn't. It's still in 'purchases' in the App Store and listed under 'other purchases'. The button next to it is blank (no letters). Also, the Launchpad icon looks like it's downloading and the app in it is greyed out.

View 1 Replies View RelatediMac starts up as normal. Once it is on desktop, will not open anything. Have new snow leopard to install, put disk in and it pops up on desktop, however just like anything else I cannot click or open it. I have unplugged, restarted, used command-option-escape( which does bring up "Force quit" box, but again I cannot click open or select anything.

I have 3 user ids on my imac, 2 are admin and one is not. When trying to upload a lot of photos onto the desktop of one admin user id the screen froze. Absolutely nothing works, you can't click on anything and the keyboard does nothing! It has only affected this user id, the other 2 are fine. I have tried restart, verify disc, repair disc, virus scan.
