Intel Mac :: Unable To Find Preferences For Paper Type
Apr 28, 2012
When I try to make prints on 2400 from Final Cuts Pro X, I do not see a place to select the kind of paper I want use. I see print or crop size but nothing to select Premium Photo Paper or Matt or any selection at all. I also don't see Quality selection or Preview beforee printing. I had all these things on my PC with Photoshop Elements. How does it work on Mac?
When using Windows XP I was able to type the copyright symbol by pressing the ALT key + 0169 and the degree symbol using ALT Key+ 0176. How do I do it in 0SX?
bought my first mac (imac) and have installed my epson r300 printer using the disc that came with the printer. I have had the printer for about 4 years now.The problem I have on my PC you got the option to select paper type ie plain, photo, matt etc;. On my mac I cannot seem to find the option. I have tried page setup, print preview etc
I want to upgrade mine software to Lion, but I must first buy the Snow Leopard. I don't know how I can see on my iMac if I all ready have the ''Leopard'' version on it or the ''Tigre''.
I bought a new iMac in November 2013 which has a wireless keyboard and mouse, which worked well but won't connect since OS was updated. I've looked in System Preferences and there is no symbol for Blutooth. In System Report / Blutooth it says 'No Information Found'. It's strange because the keyboard and mouse worked fine up to downloading and installing the update (to OSX 10.9.3.)Â How I can get the Blutooth up and running again?
Tried everything, now last option is use long paper clip to find center of where cd embedds and pop drag out.How to do this, the cd is always buzzing and I want to end this.Â
So I didn't pay attention and put a CD into my Intel iMac's CD drive that had a piece of paper stuck to the back of the CD. And now, of course, it won't come out again. I've been through all the advice on here, YouTube, ... you name it and came to the conclusion that a trip to an Apple retailer (no Apple Store here yet) is the only solution.
However, until then, I'd like to disable the CD/DVD drive to keep it from trying so that I can at least use my iMac. I found instructions to remove the IOCDStorageFamily.kext and IODVDStorageFamily.kext kernel extensions, clear the kext cache and reboot. But it's still trying to read or eject the CD, over and over again ...This is a first-generation Aluminum iMac (Mid 2007), running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3.
This has stuggled me for around a year, ever since i upgrade to lion when it is available, i found its hard for me to change my wallpaper to the images located in my aperture library. It's simplely not showing up as a available option in the preference panel desktop image section. Â Â
No offense, but dont tell me to do the repair disk, repair permission thing, or change the preview as "always" in the sharing section. Â Â
This is what i've done:Â
1>I've done format the entier hard drive "7 pass erase" around 3 times
2>Fixed the permission, repaired disk, runned daily weekly monthly script for thousands of times.
3>Reinstalled the OS thousands of times.
4>Repair Permission, Repair Database, Rebuid Database for Aperture 3 thousands of time.
5>Runned ACL repair under recovery mode 3 times in Apple Terminal.
6>Called Apple Support, reached to 3 different senior technicients
7>Done the research online
8>Tried everything i can.Â
I like photography, and i have a 70G aperture library. now i can only export the image into a folder and choose the image from the folder to do it. I know I know, It's not a big deal, just wallpaper. I'd done some programing for 2 3 years. It's kind of a habbit for me to debug the thing, i feel like this is issue for me, which makes me uncomfortable.
This now happens for any document, not only office documents. It appears the iMac regards the printer as ready and waiting, but the printer keeps looping the same page and the paper jams every time. After getting the paper out, the printer re-starts the same page again - with a new paper jam as result.
The printer is a Samsung CLP315 colour laser printer, connected through USB.
Only "solution" is to get the paper out and then quickly turn the printer off, and start it again to print a new page. I have an iMac 21", bought in May last year (the then new generation).iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)
When I depress the center of my mouse to access the calcualtor, I cannot see the documents open on my desktop. With Snow Leopard and Tiger, I could see the documents, so I could actually input the figures I am trying to calculate. Now, some weird lego-type wall paper appears as the background. I see my widgets, but not the docs currently open.
Before I had a 9c84 panel, went to System Preferences> Displays> Color> OPen Profile. Before (This was when I was running Leopard) I went down to 13 and found the panel type.
Now I get 'aagg' 'para' 32 parametric tone response curve on that line. Underneath in the description device manufacturer and device model are blank.
right, i have msn messenger for mac 7.0.2 and when ever i send a message i have to click back in the box where u type at the bottom before i can type again.
This gets seriously annoying and i was wondering if any1 else has had this problem or knows how to fix it,
I have a MacBook Air and am using Lion. I was on safari and all of the sudden I was unable to type in any field. I can see the toolbar but cannot type in it. It has now affected every application - i.e. in finder, I can see the search bar but cannot type in it. I have already tried force quit and made sure everything is updated.
I am running OS X 10.4.11 on a "pod" iMAC. When I open system preferences and click on network, I get a pop up window that states my network preferences have been changed by another application. When I click on the green "OK" box the pop up goes away and comes right back. This is driving me crazy because when it gets into this cycle it's almost impossible to get out of the preferences panel or even check the settings! It's like it gets into a closed loop and won't let you do anything.
A few days ago my email was hacked into which sent a spam email to all my contacts. I changed my password to that account, warned everyone in my contacts, and haven't had a problem with email since. However, I tried to do the 'delete all cookies' again and when I go to safari/preferences/privacy...there is nothing on that screen under that tab. Not even a question mark. I changed my history items to be removed every day from every week but don't think that would be the issue.Â
Info: iMac (21.5-inch Late 2009), Mac OS X (10.6.8)
He recently had his computer freeze up on him and it was hard booted. After it was hard booted, he logged back in, but noticed he had to setup his entourage account again. All of the shortcuts he had put in his dock were gone. when he tried to log into photoshop it asked him to setup his fonts as if this were a new account. It seems as if his profile on the computer is corrupt. Is there anyway for us to check this and recover all of the settings he had previously?
I followed all instructions to move to icloud. On my iphone and ipad I can see "icloud" in my system preferences. But not on my macbook.. Nothing is sincing.
I tried to enable my firewall by clicking on the security panel in the server preferences, but it isn't there. I am using FireVault and I have Snow Leopard installed in my MacMini OSX. Am I vulnerable to malicious attacks in the internet?
I just got the new MBP recently. Everything works fine. Just a bit curious. When I try to find some file in finder, the files in ~/library/preferences don't come up.
I need to change the local hosts and I'm using the sudo command. However, I'm unable to type my password when I'm asked to do so. I start typing and nothing comes out on the screen.Â
*ADDITIONAL INFO - I'm using Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion) on MacBook Pro.
I've been trying to find the title mentioned file on my Vista machine for a while now, and no luck. I've read numerous articles describing how it is located at
But I have everything except the Preferences plist. Ultimately I just want to adjust the settings as you would with terminal to make Safari 4 use its blue inline progress bar, I think this is a bug (which I have reported).
Secondly, would anyone happen to know how to make the User Agent a permanent change to Firefox 3, as this is the only way to be able to access Live Mail, as Safari 4 seems not to want to play ball with it. The temporary fix so I have found is to set the User Agent as Firefox 3 (Even the IE8 didn't work??).
on occasion i have to use the monaco type face when trying to read a string numbers and letters because i can't tell the difference between a zero and the lettre in that string
