Post updates for some applications other than Aperture it now won't properly export RAW. Get a 'no longer support AWR files message. Do I need to reset something in 'Preferences'? In addition some of the 'view' selections would not respond until a restart, after which the same message occured. Need info as to why RAW will not export (tried to get to the desktop, a burn folder anything with 19 photos unedited).
OS X 10.7 is clearly the most advanced operating system ever (until the next one) but I'm not digging it at all.I wanna go back to 10.6. I still have my 10.6 disk. Upgraded from 10.6 to 10.7., and am now on 10.7.3. Tried running the 10.6 install disk at boot-up and the 10.6 install was all going fine but then nearly at the end Installer said "Installation Failed. Some support files couldn't be found."
Info: iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.3), 2.4Ghz, Core Duo, 667mhz 4GB SDRAM
Recently I have been trying to install Snow Leopard to no avail. First, I attempted to install it from the dual layer disc I have, and when that wasn't working I partitioned my external hard drive and created an installation image from which to boot. I keep receiving the error: "Installer could not copy the necessary support files". I have scoured the web trying to find the solution, and most people have pointed toward a hardware problem. I verified the HDD and I played with the RAM configuration. Remember reported that one of my 1gb modules was faulty, so I took that out and I still keep getting the same error.
Please give me a solution for this failed massage" installer could not copy the necessary support files " when i try to reinstall the mac osx i had this problem what can i do please help me
Do I need to back up my files before installing Lion? Photographs, Word documents, song downloads, etc. Things like that. Right now I use Snow Leopard.
Cannot find some files (my templates folder in Microsoft Word, I know the location of the folder but it will not show in Finder), tried holding down option key when selecting folders to show hidden folders but it did not work.
Where can I find the actual keychain data? It seems like the Mac has several "libraries" and several "keychains". I want the data that shows up in the utility.
Our two computers running Leopard can transfer files across our home network to all other computers with no problems, and can grab files from other computers with no problems. Our new iMac Lion can't do any of that. The long: We have recently purchased a new iMac (Lion 10.7.3), and have connected our old 2006 iMac (Leopard 10.5.8) to the TV and stereo (and directly to our B/G/N Airport Extreme) for use primarily as a media server. We also have an MBP (Leopard 10.5.8). All three computers are shared on a home network, and I believe I have set up the sharing and permissions correctly.
From both Leopard computers I can transfer files back and forth, as well as access files on the other and bring them over. Additonally, from both Leopard computers I can do the same while accessing the iMac Lion- either transfer files to it, or connect to it and bring files over. This is what leads me to believe that the sharing is set up correctly. However, when I am on the iMac Lion and try to do any of these processes with either of the Leopards, I get a confusing set of steps and ultimately, failure.
First, I when I try to transfer or copy a file I get a window asking: Finder wants to make changes. type your password to allow this. It automatically fills in the admin username for the iMac Lion. While it is waiting for me to enter the password, a progress bar pops up stating that it is "Preparing to copy to "(Location)", and then I enter the password. As soon as I enter the password, a new window tells me that: A newer item named “(filename here)” already exists in this location. Do you want to replace it with the older one you’re moving? (note- this 'file' has just been created, it is the 'newer item', and it contains zero kb of information). and gives me three options: Keep both files, Stop, or Replace If I choose Keep both files it immediately begins duplicating the empty version of the file and it will make thousands of duplicates in mere seconds. I must kill Finder in order to make it stop.
If I choose Stop the process simply quits. If I choose Replace it says The operation can’t be completed because an item with the name “” already exists. (the quotation marks are exactly like that with no filename inbetween). Summary: I am at a loss as to how to proceed. I cannot seem to find why the iMac Lion cannot do anything to the Leopards, while the Leopards seem to have full abilities, even with the Lion. I have tried turning off AFP and turning on SMB to no avail. It is incredibly helpful to be able to share files between our systems, as the iMac Leopard has PPC programs that I cannot install or run on Lion, and so I keep them around in case I need them. Plus, my wife uses the MBP Leopard for specialized research and many of the programs they use do not run with Lion.

I tried to get support yesterday, my new iMac cannot locate my printer. It works fine wirelessly with my networked windows pc and iPad. But the iMac cannot connect wirelessly. Basically they said it must be the printer and hung up! Even though the printer works with a pc and a ipad.
I just bought this iMac in January and I've already had issues with Lion. First it was facetime.... now, I inserted a dvd-r that I already burned which has video files on them. The good thing, at least Lion recognizes that a cd/dvd is in the drive, the bad thing is that the dvd is already burned yet it keeps saying that I inserted a blank disc... which I did not.
Will my mac support the lion needed for iCloud? My system specs are: Model Name:iMac Model Identifier:iMac4,1 Processor Name:Intel Core Duo Processor Speed:2 GHz Number Of Processors:1 Total Number Of Cores:2
My attempts to install Mac OSX 10.6 on iMac MC309 bring always the same result - kernel pamick. What I did was:1. insert DVD Snow Leopard Install Disk, reboot and press ''C' - kernel panick;2. reboot into Recovery Mode, open Disk Utility, erase the preinstalled Lion completely, format the disk as Mac OS Extended (journaled). Then try to reboot into DVD Mac OSX 10.6 install disk: kernel panick.3. In Disk Utility go to restore tab, use DVD install disk as source and use my disk as destination, hit restore. When trying to reboot kernel panick happens.
I would like to connect my Imac to my home entertainment system.I have the late 2009 21.5" model. If I get a mini display port to HDMI adapter will that run both audio and video for me or do I have to run seperate audio?
