Intel Mac :: Cannot Print Color On Lexmark Pinnacle 901?
Apr 3, 2012
All software/firmware/drivers are up to date. I restarted my imac and the printer with no luck. Even the "clean print heads" feature only comes out in black.
p.s. All my inks are quite full.
Info:
iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.3), mobile me, Time Capsule
After "upgrading" from OS x 10.4.11 to OS x 10.5 to OSX 10.5.2 slowly the print capabilities went down the drain. The description of the path to destruction is. With OS X 10.4 no problems using the Lexmark Z810. After changing to 10.5 printing was only by removing the usb connector then removing the printer from the system preferences and than re-connect the usb plug of the printer.
Under 10.5.2 only an error message "unable to read CUPS raster data" appears. After which the printer windows claims that the printer is ready for use. But absolutely no printed paper is coming out. The same procedure as with 10.5 does not have any effect. Removing the Lexmark files from the library and re-installing from the install dvd does not help either. System: Imac G5 from 2005 with 2 GB memory and now 10.5.2 as os-software.
My iMac will only print in black and white. I can't find any setting to fix the problem. I know it's a computer problem because I have hooked the iMac up to more than one color printer but only prints in black and white. Where else can I look?
I have an HP Laserjet 1525nw. When I try to print any PDF that has color, in the print preview, the page(s) is white. If I go ahead and print, it will print a blank page. Black and white will print fine. My printer is very low on color ink but full on black. If anything, shouldn't it default to grayscale for color. My windows computer uses the same printer but will print anything.
I currently have the Lion OS X working on my MacBook Pro and a HP Deskjet F4180 and I can't print in color. What changes do I need to make to enable this feature
Info: MacBookPro, Mac OS X (10.7.3), Printer worked fine on Snow Leopard
before switching to Mac, I used an "X-Rite Eye One Display 2" color meter device with software. You can find them most places like Amazon for about $150. The device should still work, but I can't find any software for it for the Mac. After going to the X-Rite web site, I could find no software at all for the Mac as it is only windows based.
Surely someone out there has used a color meter such as this one as they are quite popular especially for graphics artists that use professional graphic monitors. I am hoping someone can tell me how to use my color meter (USB), what software for Mac Leopard I need and how to save the color profile in the Mac OS.
I have recently upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mavericks and am now having problem with my hp 4500 office jet printer. The print icon tends to stay on the dock after the print job is done and then mess up the print queue. Even worse if I forget to cancel it manually then when I put the computer on 'sleep' the printer starts up again and the whole job is rerun unless I get to cancel it quickly on the printer!
It does not always do this (the print icon disappearing as it should do), but for 90% of the time it does.
I have an 09 Mac Pro Nehalem, with nvida gt120 graphics card running 10.6.2 with the latest mac pro 1.4 efi and two 23 inch Apple cinema displays (the older DVI kind)
I go into system preferences>displays>color and try to adjust color on my monitors but selecting different color settings on either monitor only affects ONE monitor, the other monitor is essentially stuck at whatever color setting it is set to.
i really want to customize my macbook. i want to change the color logo to apple classic color. (but not for a while) the main thing i want to do is something like this [URL] the second picture to last. the guy with a suit and a hat, being covered with the apple logo. i want something like that, only not that image. you get the idea though. where can i get something like this? are they stickers as well? or are they laser engraved? i do not want it permanent on my macbook, since i get easily bored with the same look
I installed iwork 08 and everytime i type the letters come in white. I tried changing the color font and everytime i try putting black it always comes up white but when i do it dark blue for example it shows dark blue, it shows every color except for black.
Im using an Imac with Mac OS 10.7.3. I am trying to use a Citrix to open some files but I get the error message that display is configured for 65536 colors and is not supported. I need to us 24 or 32 bit color. I cannot figure out how to make this change. Under system preferences>Display I see nothing that allows me to change depth to those levels.
Earlier today I had the LED Panel replaced in my 27" iMac (Applecare Warranty) due to a screen discoloration that had appeared around the Optical Disk area of the screen. The replacement LED has resolved that issue. However, (and I don't know if this is due to the new LED installation) I now find that I cannot 'color calibrate' the new screen. On opening Display Preferences/Color, there are three display profiles listed;
On selecting any of the above and clicking the 'Open Profile' button - I'm given this message; Unable to determine file format. The file "/Library/ColorSync/Profiles/Displays/iMac-00000610-0000-9CB5-0000-000004272D40 .icc" does not appear to be compressed or encoded. It is advised that you obtain further information about the contents of this file from the sender or provider of the file. On selecting the 'Calibrate' button - I'm given the message; Can not calibrate the display The factory profile for the display could not be found.

What is happening to my computer. This is the 2nd time it does this: all of a sudden the screen becomes black with reverse fluo colors.
I have to force quite with the push button & restart it. I repaired the permissions & restarted it. It's working again, but I am wondering if I have an alien in it.
Specs details:

I'm using the "stationary" available to create an email of a birth announcement for a girl. However, the birth announcement is a blue background. Is there a way to change that to pink?
Well after some time on my own trying to get the Lexmark to work wirelessly I called tech support and finally got it to work on my macbook - here is the link for the updated driver. [URL]
I have successfully installed and set-up the wirless utility and the drivers. When I try and add the printer it does not appear in the add printer list.
Title of the post says it all really. My printer is one of the ones supposedly supported (x4690) and it works fine when connected by usb, but not wirelessly. I have tried everything I know to get this working.
The only clue I have is when I try to print and run a log, it says
Stopping job because the scheduler could not execute a filter. E [30/Aug/2009:14:17:13 +0100] Unable to execute /usr/libexec/cups/backend/lexnet3: insecure file permissions (0100755)
I've tried to submit the problem to Lexmark, but the 'submit' button doesn't work on their website,.
