I recently purchased a new iMAC but did not do the migration on startup. How do I now go back and get the files etc from mac book pro over to my iMac?

I'm running Lion on an 27" iMac (first i7 iteration), and have a folder on an external HDD that contains a couple of hundred subfolders.
However - when viewing them in Finder, only the first hundred or so display.
The others are there - searching the disc finds the folders and their contents and, once, the contents are located, they'll display in the expanded view.
I copied the offending folder across to the Mac's main HD, but this behaviour came across with it. This, by the way, was happening on Snow Leopard too before I upgraded to Lion.

I'm running Lion V10.7.2 on my iMac and I'd like to modify trash.I'll like Trash to stop asking me if I'm sure I want to remove the contents of trash. I have thousands of folders with images. I previously worked with ease in Windows because Explorer allowed me to view the contents of the folder without opening the folder. I could view and select in seconds.
Does Mac not have this capability that is found in Windows explorer? Do I need to set some permission in order to view the contents? I'm mystified as to why this isn't a set feature on the Mac. How do I get the contents of a folder in Mac to show *without* tediously opening up each folder?

I am trying to delete some old documents from the Mac. It was quite easy to find the delete button but the menu states that the content will be gone and an empty page will remain. I would like to get rid of the empty page too! How do I do that?

I have been meaning to put windows onto my MBP for some time now but I have never used bootcamp and know nothing about it. Well the windows desktop that I bought for my mom two years ago died and she already bought a new one. Well I took the hard drive out of it and I was wondering if I could use the windows that is on that hard drive to make a partion on my MBP? Is that even possible? Am I even making sense?

Despite the fact I got home close to midnight and had to be up for 0430 for work, I just couldn't let this new machine sit in the box it was sitting there asking me to open the content. Me being the obedient women that I am I had to follow my heart.I opened the laptop, powered it, looked at it, admired my new lighted keypad and....went to bed. So my issue is this. Now that I have turn the computer on once now, how do I transfer all the content of my old laptop onto the new one? what do I look up to make the transfer?

I don't know why but all my browsers don't show contents of gizmodo.com, lifehacker.com etc. It seems as if those websites have javascript and this is what prevents from showing them, but I am not sure. I tried enabling/disabling java on chrome but nothing seems to work.

I had created 3 personal folders In my Home folder. I then created a new folder called "active folder" and dragged these 3 folders inside, removing them from the Home folder. I then dragged my newly created folder "Active Folder" to the Sidebar of the finder. When I had closed finder and reopened it - the "active Folder" folder was unable to open. A friend tried to help- dragged "active folder" off the sidebar.. and it disappeared with a cloud effect. I cant find that folder or its NB contents anywhere?

My idea is this; buy the nvidia 3D vision, install windows 7 (since the nvidia 3D vision is windows only) and buy a 3D capable monitor, and I should be able to play games, view content in 3D. After doing research, I found that the nvidia Geforce 9600 GT is supported, however I found no indication that the nvidia Geforce 9600M GT is supported. My question is this, technically speaking should my plan work, or is the difference between the Geforce 9600 GT and 9600M GT significant enough to alter my idea.

I have lost all my address book and iCal content on my MacBook Pro. How do I restore from my iPhone? I tried synchronising my iPhone to the MacPro but then lost all the content on the iPhone. I managed to get it back using the restore. This means the only content I have for Address Book and iCal sits on my iPhone!

I have searched quite a bit and I've read many different answers so I'm beginning to doubt if any are actually doable and if it is there is no easy answer. I have an antique Mac G4 PPC Dual 1.25 with 2 gb of ram and I have updated all of my hard drives internally as well as externally to SATA/ESATA and one usb 2 smaller drive so that leaves me with one small (160 gb ATA for OS 10.4.11 and along with another partition with OS 9 on it along with all of my apps on it.
