I have a Macbook Air 11in base specs, and an upgraded Alienware M18x. I do alot of traveling and sailing hence the use of the MBA. Now I'm planning on selling my Alienware since I use that as my desktop. The options I have are the Upgraded 27in Imac, or a Thunderbolt Display with the 2.5ghz mac mini. The only reason I'm leaning towards the latter is so I can use it as a Monitor for my MBA.

I realise that this question has been asked a lot, and ive searched around to try and solve my question, but I just want to confirm on here before I suck it up and split with cash. I have a MacBook that need to be connected via scart. Currently I have a mini DVI to VGA adaptor (the small one from apple). Is it possible to: OPTION 1: Just buy a VGA to scart and be done with that? If not. Am I correct in thinking that the audio and video needs to be separate? OPTION 2: I was thinking that Id need this mini DVI to video adaptor [URL:..] So would either of those two options work for me?

I recently purchased a dongle to connect my 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo white MacBook to the S-video in my Sony TV. [URL:...] When I got it home it didn't work. I went online only to find that my model of laptop is not able to use this dongle. So my question is - how would I connect my macbook to the S Video in of my TV? I'm thinking I'll need to use the Mini DVI to VGA dongle [URL:...] and then use something else to convert it to S-Video.

After connecting the imac to a new router the system hung completely up. After each input, e.g. opening preview or a browser, the coloured turning disc appeared and nothing happened anymore. Several restarts, also in safe mode, were unsuccessful. I could not switch to another user. Restart is only possible at all from installation disc but thereafter problem remains the same.

My Imac will not connect to the internet. I ran the network diagnostics and checked the network in system preferences and still it won't work. I already fixed the IP adress problem but still... It's showing, in network diagnostics, that internet and server are red. I already rebooted the server but the problem persists. I'm a mac user and have been for almost a decade and this has never happened.

I have a 3rd party bluetooth keyboard that works fine on m iphone, When I try to connect it to my Mac, the keyboard is discoverable as "Bluetooth Keyboard" where it always fails at the pairing process. "The pairing attempt was unsuccessful. This configuration of Mac OSX and bluetoot software could be invalid or unsupported." The bluetooth on my Mac connects fine to my trackpad. Is there any reason why this shouldnt work on my Mac and is there any way to get it working?

I've had an iMac (late 2006) connected to a TV via mini DVI to HDMI for a while now, but today it's stopped working. The Apple menu wasn't visible on the TV and after changing the display settings froze. If I keep the HDMI cable in (even if the TV is turned off) the Mac freezes when it get's to the desktop view and jumbles the image with squares all over. If I take the cable out, it boots up fine. Putting the cable in then goes back to the original problem. I've searched around and tried deleting the com.apple.displays(2) file from ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost but no luck.Â

I can't get into *certain* secure sites. I first noticed the problem a few weeks ago when I couldn't check out at Amazon, the log-in page would not come up. Neither would any page on Amazon that is secure, i.e., requiring the entry of my password. The problem has grown. Most recently I couldn't get into Bank Of America, now I can't get into gmail. The real kick is I couldn't get in HERE!! (But I *can* get into my bank account, I *can* get into Chase and I *can* get into Citi, no problems.) The problem is occurring on both Safari and Firefox, so it's apparently not a browser issue. My ISP is Hughesnet, the satellite ISP. Now, how did I get in here and why do I suspect Hughes? Because I have a back-up dial-up ISP, Juno, and I got in here using Juno and have gotten into all of the other sites I just mentioned using Juno. Only thing is, Juno takes eons. I mean EONS. As I said, I suspect Hughes. But, I thought I'd come here and seek help from you guys, I've received excellent and much appreciated help here in the past. I'm hoping that I'm wrong, that it's not a Hughes problem, and that someone here can suggest a way I can correct w/e is wrong with my settings (if, in fact, it is my settings).Â

I'm a professional composer. I've just re-done my studio set up and it looks like this,The two thunderbolt displays seem to work perfectly and I've had no complaints with them. I just can't get the TV to be that 4th monitor. I'd like to flick the video I'm working with up to the TV above to give my desktop ample room. I've tried two things so far: (1) a mini display port to HDMI cable, and (2) a mini display port to VGA to HDMI (crazy, I know). Is there any way I can get this to work? Any alternatives? Â

How do I connect a newer 2011 27" iMac to a flat panel via a Thunderbolt to HDMI cable? I've already tried this with two different brands of flat panels (RCA and Samsung) and both get no signal. The iMac does recognize the model of flat panel connected to it, the flat panels do not recognize the iMac, nothing but a blue or black screen. Already tried powering down and resetting both the iMac and flatpanels, resetting the memory on the iMac, trying all the HDMI ports on both flatpanels. Nothing works.

I'm trying to connect my Mac (OSX 5) to a flat screen TV. To do so I just bought a USB 2.0 to HDMI ® Display Adapter w/ Audio (1920 x 1080). The mini CD containing the DisplayLink software drivers that came with the unit won't fit in my Mac CD drive. I then tried to download the correct driver from the DisplayLink website, "DisplayLink USB Graphics Macintosh Driver" which appears to be appropriate for OSX 5 (at [URL]).
This proceeds through the installation steps, then bombs out with the error message that "The following install step failed: run preinstall script for DisplayLink software. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance." In the hopes of finding a compatible driver, I looked for an earlier version of the driver on the DisplayLink site, but couldn't find one.
