I noticed yesterday that when I opened mail, it kept trying to get mail off the sever even though everything downloaded. Today when I open I just get the colored wheel and I must force quit everytime.

today i found that Mail has stopped working for no obvious reason.It wont send or receive emails, but when i check by signing into .mac itself, the messages have arrived and everything appears normal.Mail won't quit either... then every so often a box with the following text appears:'Some actions taken while the account 'enter.mac address here' was offline could not be completed online.Mail has undone actions on some messages so that you can redo the actions while online. Mail has saved other messages in mailbox "on my mac" in "on my mac" so that you can complete the actions while online.Additional information: The connection to the server "mail.mac.com" on port 143 timed out.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI access my iCloud account on Mail on my Mac Air. Last week it just stopped updating without any changes from me. All I have is the little triangle with the exclamation points in them next to the account name. I've tried reentering my account password and changing ports. Nothing. It doesn't even try to retrieve mail when I do so under the Mailbox drop-down menu. It's all very random.

I installed 10.5.7 yesterday. Immediately after the installation was complete, my Apple bluetooth keyboard stopped working. Went into Bluetooth system settings, and it said that there was no bluetooth hardware found... (it's built into the machine!!)...
Also, every time I start iTunes, it gives some weird error about Adobe Flash player. I'm not at home now so I don't have the exact wording of the error with me, sorry...

My Mail.app has been working fine with my [URL] account for yonks but has now suddenly stopped working. I either get a constant spinner next to the account or a warning sign that says something about bandwidth limits exceeded.
My blackberry gets my email fine, as does Evolution on Ubuntu 10.04. This has been on going for about a week and I've even archived any messages that have lots of pictures in them. Still no luck.
Mail is working with my other google apps accounts for about four different domains but _not_ with my [URL] account.
Drag and drop has only stopped working in Mail, it is still functioning in other programs.

have been using Mail (to my Yahoo account) for a few weeks. A few days ago it just stopped working. Checked the Connection Doctor, no issues, able to connect with the Yahoo server. I am able to send email, just not receive. After a bit of reading I tried to do the Rebuild but it is greyed out. Also not able to delete email messages that are in the mailbox, I delete them but they are not actually deleted, they re-appear. Now I get a message box 'The file 10217.emlx' cannot be opened because there is no such file'.

Apple Mail stopped working after replacing and restoring the Main Hard Drive in the upper bay. Internet connection is good, and the Mail client troubleshooting (Comcast) was no help. I can start the App, but it does not retrieve or send mail through Comcast anymore. I have a MacBook Pro with the same settings and Mail works fine.

View 1 Replies View RelatedEverthing's been fine since I first setup my Mac Mini over a year ago....2 or 3 days ago I noticed when I tried to do a cut/paste from a mail message to a field (using Cmd-C Cmd-V) in a web page, it didn't work. It's alsways worked before but I chalked it up to the web form not taking "pasted" input. But then I tried from a text document to an email...same story. I highlight text with the mouse, do Cmd-C and get a "bong" sound, then go to where I want to paste, do a Cmd-V and nothing gets pasted. I take it the "bong" means some sort of error or invalid input occured?
I restarted the Mini and it worked for a while (at least when I tried it right after logging in). Then yesterday I had to restart my Mini again and the shortcuts aren't working again. If I highlight text and then right-click the mouse and select copy, then move to where I want to paste and right-click and select paste it works fine....just the keyboard shortcuts don't work. I checked the sytem prefs, keyboard pane and saw nothing out of the ordinary.....any ideas out there?
i have already tried going to system preferences, and the internal speakers are located, connected, and should work. the display that shows up when the volume switches looks the same as when they DID work, but no tone sounds when i switch the volume.

Ok the computer stopped working while surfing the net. Now it powers up gives a chime followed by the globe and then the apple. That's it then I get the working spinning wheel and that's it.

Internet had been working fine until 4 weeks ago, when it cut out and has not worked since. After an excessive amount of time spent on the phone to Optus (so-called) techs, receiving a new cable modem, the internet still does not work. The camera had been working fine with FaceTime, Photo Booth and Skype under 10.9.4 and then something happened. I run FaceTime and the camera screen comes up, but it's black with no sidebar. I had this happen once before when the serial number hadn't been put back after they replaced the motherboard. It's back in now and was working fine. I did have to install Google hangouts plug in, but FaceTime was working fine after that and I've since uninstalled it after FaceTime stopped working and it still doesn't work.
I did have AirParrot and SoundFlower installed which the camera worked with, but uninstalled them as I saw something about a possible problem. I've reset SMU and PRAM, nothing. he mac sees the camera as being there so it shouldn't be a camera problem, but the apps while seeing the camera aren't getting any input [and no it's not blocked. ]

My iMac's built-in bluetooth suddenly stopped working. Can I troubleshoot or replace it? It is an early 2008 Intel iMac. My Wireless mac keypad has stopped properly working. The keys sometime do not correspond to the result, or a a simultaneous duel actio, for example when the delete button is pressed the. Ursor does go backwards, but it also turns the sound up. The keyboard is properly connected to the computer, and the battery life is up in the nineties.
