I just updated to iTunes 11.2.2 on my macMini following an update to OS X 10.9.3. I have my music library stored on an external 1TB firewire disk and some on a second gen iPod. The iPod music is accessable and will play but the music on the external disk, while showing up correctly in iTunes, will not play. I can't even play the music from within finder (no play icon on the music file icon in finder.) I can use the right click menu option to show a music item in iTunes in Finder and it knows right where it is so it seems itunes is fully aware of the libraries location on the external drive.
One additional point is that I also install Xcode 6 Beta which would not install with iTunes opened. I was wondering if the beta of Xcode 6 is at issue? If is what will be needed to backout that instalation? What changes does Xcode 6 do that affects iTunes in the first place? Maybe it isn't Xcode 6 but something else just not sure.

I am buying a new iMac and want to transfer my entire itunes library of music and video and my iphoto library. All this media is currently on 3 total external drives and I would like it all to live on one single external drive going forward.
Since doing a clean install of Lion onto my system, I have not been able to play music cd's bought from the high street. My system keep ejecting them after about 20 seconds. Movie DVD's play straight away.
I have set my website up in iWeb (so simple and great) and I have added to the homepage a QT music file for visitors to listen to. Unfortunately however when you do click on the song and then navigate to one of my other pages on the website such as my portfolio, the music stops. I was hoping that the song would play continuously while navigating through the website no matter what page the visitor was on. Is this even possible?
I have ALOT of music on my macbook pro. so much i don't have much hard drive space left and its really slowing down my laptop. i have all the music on an external hard drive. is it possible to play the music directly off the hard drive rather than having to import ALL the songs to my laptop? itunes just imports all the songs automatically and i don't want it to. i would rather just play the music off the hard drive and save space on my laptop
I have some old music that I bought under an old iTunes account and it asks me for my password to play the music. That account is no longer active, how do I list the music under my new account so I can play it?
...now I don't have the same functionality with iTunes. Basically, I can't use iTunes at all anymore as the interface for my music and videos. Once the external drive is mounted, I can navigate through it and play individual songs, but I can't use iTunes to do that. All my previous Playlists show up down the left side of iTunes, but there isn't any music in them.
I downloaded 2 songs yesterday, made a Playlist out of them, and because the path in the Advanced tab of the iTunes Preferences is correct, it automatically added the songs to the external hard drive. I synced my iPod and it was completely erased except for the 2 new songs. Is there a way to use iTunes to navigate my music like I used to when I stored the information on the internal hard drive but keep the information on the external drive? I have a Mac running Snow Leopard and the latest version of iTunes.
I just got a mac recently and switching over from PC so I am kind of new to everything, and there's this website that I usually go to to listen to music online (maybe window media player) and now that I switch over the mac, the website fully load and everything, except the music player is gone, so I download window media player 9 and try to go to the website again, but the music player is still not there, what can I do? The website is like this, and to the right of the lyric is suppose to be the music player but it's not there. http://music.yeucahat.com/song/Vietn...ang-Quang.html
Whenever I wanna play music on my iTunes, it stays at 0:00 ..... I've tried everything so far. I can't even go on youtube and hear the music. Yes, my volumes up, everything is plugged in, I went to system preferences and checked the sound, everythings fine. I re-installed iTunes, nothing happened... I can still buy songs and it goes on my iPod... The I have is an iMac G5 (tiger) and yes, I updated iTunes and the rest of my updates.
I have been trying to import music from an audio CD into my itunes library. All the files appear to be imported but all the timings are missing and when I try and play, the play symbal jumps about from one track to another and won't play any of them. This is about the third time I have tried to import it.he CD will play on an up to date CD player.
why is my iTunes not playing any of my songs in my song library and when i click any song, it tells me the song could not be used because the original file found not be found and will also asked me if i would like to locate?
I have close to a hundred music files that won't play, they have no file ending (.*). They were transferred from a now formatted computer (no way to recover). I have no idea how to get them to work. If I give them an AAC ending RealPlayer will give me the following information but it won't play them. Since it tells me the length of the song it must somehow recognize it.
after recent upgrades my iphone 3GS cannot play music shared by iTunes on my Mac. Both are connected to the same wifi network. Don't know (forgot to test) if this is 10.6 or 5.1 fault. When trying to connect to shared library I see only half of the grey circle and then stopped and in the result there is nothing in library.†
I have a home office and a macbook pro, and my desk is on the other side of the room from my stereo. I would like to not have to run another cord to my computer and would like to play music from my computer via bluetooth. I can purchase a bluetooth receiver and plug it into the back of my stereo.
I can't play any of the music I've downloaded. My computer wants an autorization (Which I do), says my computer is already authorized, and still won't let me play these songs. All of the CD's I've uploaded have had no problem.

I try to upload music from commercially produced cds but my iMac (intel) running Yosemite has stopped working.
It uploaded several discs then had trouble uploading one.  When I put the next cd in to upload it made a few strange whirling sounds then ejected the disc.  It didn't get mounted the the desktop either.
I tried it first thing in the morning when the machine was freshly started and not hot but nothings working.

Originally this mac was my sisters, but she gave it to me once she got a new mac. I wanted to put my own music  onto the iTunes library, but it will only keep hers for some reason. I tried signing in on iTunes but it only signs into the store, not the library.
