Intel Mac :: A Line Of Pixelation Went Out?

Mar 7, 2009Ever since the last QT update 7.6, my AVIs are so pixelated to the point where it's no use for me to edit them in FCP. They're more like thick white blocks that completely distort the image. I have both Perian and Flip4Mac up to date. I'm also using MPEG Streamclip to convert to a more friendly h.264 clip.

Jun 27, 2012Ive got a new (ish) Mac Pro that has suddenly decided to pixelate the screen quite badly, little "dots" have appeared, & if I move something on the screen eg a window it blurs the text/image to the point where nothing is readable, it also sometimes leaves a partial trail. I have tried using a different monitor that works on another PC & the same fault occurs, so the fault isnt with the monitor. My system is..Processor 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel XeonMemory 3 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 ECCGraphics ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MBSoftware Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E53) Hopefully someone can shed some light!

Software :: Green Pixelation On Display - How To Fix It
Jan 10, 2009 strange shapes started appearing on the desktop - a fluorescent green (like vertical strips of 5 or 6 pixels in a group), sometimes as a shadow of a previous open window, sometimes just random squares or lines. The blocks of green go if i run my mouse over them with the button pressed down.
a fluorescent green light sometimes shines around the programme tiles in the dock.
MacBook :: Occasional Pixelation On Darker Colors?
Mar 21, 2012I am having a display issue with my MacBook (mid-2007) I am getting occasional pixelation on darker colors. The pixels turn redish/purplish/pinkish...If I press on the screen near the Apple logo (on the top cover) and on the lcd screen I can sometimes get the issue to go away. When I plug in an external monitor the pixelation does not show up on the external monitor but will stay on the laptop lcd display. I do have windows also installed and the pixelation shows up in windows as well.... So my thinking that it is likely an issue with the LCD cable or LCD display....Â

Sep 6, 2009Double poll here. There are two questions:
How much DATA do you have Oo-line?
This is data and not total capacity. This includes all your on-line data: music, images, video, the OS, all of it. It doesn't include back-up data even if it's on-line like Time Machine tho. Just active data.
And of the on-line storage devices used for that DATA totally, what % are they filled to?
For example if you had two 500 GB drives and about 400 GB of data you would answer:
"I have < 500 GB of DATA on-line." and,"My on-line storage is between 25% and 50% full.".
Mac Pro :: Problems Recording In Garage Band (line In, Line Out )
Jan 7, 2010i'm having some issues recording in garage band which should hopefully be easy to clear up. i record an instrumental track into garage band through the line-in jack in the back. the track shows up in garage band just fine and plays, but i'm running into trouble recording while that track is playing. i plug my headphones in so i can try to hear the track while i am recording vocals, but i am unable to hear the track. i checked the inputs/outputs in system preferences and output is set to headphones, microphone is set to line in. so i'm not too sure what it could be.

Apr 19, 2012I started noticing what I describe as ant-lines running vertically across my late 2009 27" iMac. I am fairly certain that they were not there before but I can't really remember. I did a search and found some discussions regrading video issues and vertical line anomalies but none like what I am seeing. url...It's noticable from a distance of about 2 feet and closer. It's not visible on white or black but midtones is where I see it. It gets really distracting at about 20" and closer, especially in iPhoto when scrolling through photos.Has anyone else seen anything like this and do you guys think I will have any luck getting something like this fixed with a Genius appointment? I do still have AppleCare.

Intel Mac :: Have Vertical Line On Scree Of It?
May 18, 2012I have been a Mac user for 20 years because their product has been reliable despite the higher cost. Recently a pink verticle line started left side of screen. My extended care has expired. They charged me $49 to talk to tech support who said it was a hardware problem. They said the cost would be mine. I explained how numerous complaints about this issue is on the internet and they should pay for the repair. i have to drive 50 miles to an authorized Mac repair shop. I am disgusted with their product and lack of concern for an ongoing problem. Probably will not buy another Apple product since they care so little about quality anymore.

Jul 2, 2012My computer will not acknowledge the two printers I use, a MFC-9840cdw or the HP B8550. It says both printers are offline. I have tried to reload drivers, and tried the other troubleshooting options. Nothing has worked. The evening that it quit communicating there was a big thunderstorm,but I had turned my computer off. The next morning the imac was not acknowledging the printers.

Feb 29, 2012On the keyboard with the numeric keypad, are there keyboard shortcuts for moving the cursor to the beginning of the line, and to the end of the line? I would also be curious to know if there is the equivalent, just including highlighting the entire line; both beginning of line and end of line. In Windows the equivalents are "Home", "End", "Shift-Home" and "Shift-End".

Intel Mac :: Horizontal Gray Line Across Screen?
May 21, 2012This evening, quite suddenly, a gray (or black, depending on what's on the screen) vertical line has appeared across my imac screen, about a quarter of the way up from the bottom. Above that are some are three, much lighter lines (more like subtle variations or blocks of colour running across the screen). These appear on all windows I open. I took a screen shot using grab and the very definite gray line doesn't appear.

Mac Pro :: No Sound From Line Out And A Red Light In Optical Line Out
Aug 2, 2009I've had this problem since Friday with my Mac Pro (March 2009) and haven't been able to solve it.
On Friday my speakers suddenly stopped working. After first having confirmed that the speakers were working with another source, I tried headphones both in frontal headphone slot and with the analog line out in the back, both without success. There's a red light in the optical audio out, indicating that it's on for some reason, although I have selected different audio out source. The internal speaker works just fine, only the normal audio out doesn't give me anything.
I found a thread in the MBP section similar to this problem, but solutions for MBP didn't work.

Mar 6, 2012how to make a vertical dotted line in Pages, I've been to Inspector and went to the T, then to Borders and Shading. It does let me make a dotted line but not vertically. Is there any other way to flip the line vertically or another way to make a line so it is vertical?

Mar 20, 2012Is there a command line tool I can use to record audio on my intel imac? In Linux, I use the arecord tool and was wondering if there is something similar for the Mac. I do not want to use a GUI tool like Audio Hijack Pro because I already have and use that app. I now prefer to use a command line tool instead.
