I hooked it up to my network and everything and the wireless printing works great.
Recently I had to take the printer out, so I unplugged it from my modem and plugged it in somewhere else for USB use.
I tried printing something, forgetting that I couldn't print wirelessly anymore.
When attempting to print from Acrobat on Mac OS 10.6 to a Samsung CLP 310, all lights and control panel are OK, then green light on printer flashes, then .... nothing happens. Updated printer driver without result. Printer dialog box shows partial print, so seems to have stalled, but usually that's all that happens.

View 3 Replies View RelatedHi, my brand new iMac 21.5" (just 2 weeks old) does not have the appropriate driver for my printer. My printer is a Samsung CLX-3160fn. The iMac has lots of other Samsung drivers, including one that's close (for the 3170 series), but the close one does not work.
Went online to search for driver but was not able to find one for Mac. Does this mean my printer is just not compatible with my iMac?

I set up CUPS on the client Mac via http://localhost:631 and created a printer associated with the remote queue / printer on Linux (the URL I use on OS X is http://mylinuxserver:631/printers/hpprinter and the driver is RAW).
I have no problems sending a test page from the CUPS web interface on Mac OS X to the Linux server -- the test page gets printed OK. However, I can't see the printer I just defined from other Mac OS X apps, and neither can I see it from the Add Printer Dialog on System Preferences (it's empty).
I tried creating the printer at the Add Printer dialog, but it would neither let me specify an HTTP URL (as far as I know, I had to use the IP icon on the toolbar) nor specify "RAW". I moved up to the HP P1006 since my 1020 was not compatible with 10.6. It has been working great until a hotel sent me a receipt in pdf format. I open the file try to print from the pdf and from the mac, both ways and I get this:
/usr/libexec/cups/filter/pstoraster failed
I am not a techie, and have no idea what that means. Anyone have an idea?
I open System Prefs and click 'Print & Fax'. I click + to add a printer. The dialog box opens for a few seconds and then closes. Just that window. I cannot add a printer at all or even print anything for that matter. I ran Printer Therapy and it finds nothing wrong. Same with TechTool Pro. Nothing seems to be wrong except this.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am using Mac OPS 10.9.4 and iPhoto 9.5.1 systems I have just tried to print photos using an H-P Photosmart 7510 printer and am not getting results because I get a message that the paper size is not correct or the print comes from the regular 8 1/2 by 11 tray and not the photo tray which I have told it to do. I also have an H-P Photosmart 335 printer that I have not been able to use because I get message saying the paper is not the correct size. In the past I was able to adjust easily the paper sizes and get good prints. Now, I am not getting any prints because of error messages. It seems to me that updates installed to my computer change the way I am use to doing therefore causing me to learn new ways of operating the jobs I want to do. It is a waste of my time learning the "improvements" the updates keep installing and not improving the way I have been use to doing various tasks.
I do not print many photos so there is some time between the task and Apple has "improved" the system and I have to go back to square one to learn the new way or install another app.

Well, after sitting on the snow leopard fence for a while, I decided to install it this weekend. I now am unable to print to my Epson Artison 800 printer. Apparently I need a Driver for it, but the Epson site is a bit confusing when trying to select exactly what I need to download.

Upgraded my iMac (2010) from Mavericks to Yosemite yesterday. Since when, anything I try to print to my Kodak printer grinds to a halt after there first few seconds of starting to print. The printer will print fine from another laptop. It will print test pages and direct photocopies all without a problem. Doesn't matter whether am connected via wireless or USB, the same thing happens. Am thinking I should possibly try to 'downgrade' back to Mavericks - if that is possible.

I'm trying to get used my first iMac, and I'm having a bit of trouble printing from my wireless network. I have an HP Officejet 6210 that I have been using for the last couple of years with my Windows computer. I'm trying to print off of that through my network, but I keep getting this error
"There is a problem communicating with the printer. Make sure the printer is powered on and connected to the computer. Delete or stop the job and try again."
I have printer sharing turned on through my Windows computer since the printer is connected directly through my windows computer. My other Windows computer that I have at the house can print through the network, but I'm having problems doing so with my iMac. I have the right driver selected through system preferences/print & fax, but it just won't print.
Any suggestions about what I'm doing wrong, or is there something I'm missing?
I'm using a MacBook, Mac OS 10.5.8. I've downloaded the driver for HP LaserJet m1319f MFP and the printer worked fine when I connect it directly to my MacBook (using USB connection).The problem is that printer is supposed to be connected to our office network users through a TP-Link Print Server (TL-PS110U). I've tried to use AppleTalk to connect to that print server but my MacBook only recognized that HP printer as a HP Fax machine and I can't print anything.

I was having problems printing from my Canon LBP6000. Print jobs remained held in the queue. I uninstalled and reinstalled the Mac CAPT Ve r340 driver from Canon's website, no improvement. The printer works fine with my Windows laptop. I found an option to remove all printers from the Print preferences section. I can't remember how I did this, but all printers were removed. I reinstalled the above driver, but now in the 'print & scan' - 'add printer' section, I have no printer options. And no idea how to get printer options.

I'm trying to add a Samsung CLX-2160 printer, but the driver is not in the list of pre-loaded drivers. I've downloaded the driver from Samsung's site, but cannot find it when I add the printer. It's not in the list, and when I click "other" to find it, I can get to the file ("SamsungCLX-216xSeries.ds", in Hard Drive/Library/TWAIN Data Sources), but there is no option to add it.

I have just purchased a Samsung CLX-3175N, and have established connection to it over a network from a MacBook Pro (Mac OS X). The scanner works fine, but the printer does not. When I try to print the job comes up momentarily on the printer queue, then the printer beeps, the job disappears from the queue, but nothing prints. Can anyone tell me how to solve this problem?

After reformatting my powerbook I went to the samsung supportsite to download the driver. But is was no longer available for download.
So.. I searched etc.etc. and found others looking for the missing driver, too.

I'm running OSX 10.4.11 on both a MacBook Intel duo and on a PowerMac G4. I bought a Samsung SCX4600 which has just been replaced by Samsung.
The first would print ok for single copies but was pitifully slow when asked for several copies even though it claims 20ppm and mac compatable. The replacement wont print at all, giving the message that "the printer is not responding". In both cases the scanner and photocopy functions work fine. I have loaded and reloaded the up to date driver and (following a resonse to an old similar query found on the [URL] support forum) run Printer Setup Repair 5.1.2 from MacFixit but with no benefit.
Before I spend another 30mins listening to musac while trying to get back to Samsung tec support, probably to try to get my money back:
1 Can I hope for a 3rd printer to be any better?
2 If not, any recommendations for an inexpensive b&w laser print/copy/scan machine which WILL work?
My Samsung ML-2510 stopped working when I installed snow leopard. I've tried the following, after finding others with similar problems (before snow leopard).
1. re-installing the driver from the Samsung website.
2. deleting the printer from the "printer & fax" pref, then adding it again, selecting "print using..." the new driver from the drop down menu.
3. downloading the Samsung Drivers from the apple website
Is there a way to force Safari to print what I see on a webpage, and not default to the print style? I'm trying to print a graphically-rich site and the print.css doesn't cut it, making everything look like trash (unformatted text, etc.).

last page - penultimate page -........-first page
how do i reverse the order of printing so that it prints the first page first
