tried to search for the answer, but no luck. I just hooked up a new airport express and am using AirTunes but was wondering how it sends the info? I guess my question is, will the quality be the same as if my computer is hooked straight into the cord?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've just bought a MacBook (White, 2.1ghz, 1 gig ram). Thing is the previous owner had a friend install XP as he didn't like the operating system. When I turn the computer on it boots straight from XP and no choice to choose osx. I've tried holding down option which brings the selection for windows only! I have a mac mini so I tried the software disc from that (knew I had no chance but worth a try). I found boot camp on control panel, inserted mac os disc, selected it to boot from it. No joy just a White screen then black, and the xp logo starts. How to get this vile software off my MacBook please???
View 10 Replies View RelatedI found a time capsule (router/hd) hooked up in-between my modem and my computers. From what I read on the spec sheet of the time capsule is that whomever controls this device could actually see my computer from anywhere including my emails and hard drives. It is true? I do have a lower OS, 10.4.11, and I can't access the capsule via time machine, not to mention I don't have the password to see what's on it, but can this device actually be storing all my info/data on the capsules hard drive? Or would I need a higher level of OS for this to keep my info.
Does it store data from external HD that are hooked up to the computers that are hooked up to the time capsule?
My computer cord does not seem to be working. Is this covered under apple care?

View 5 Replies View RelatedStarted archiving all my old photos and creating dvds. started off using iphoto which is great for compiling a quick slideshow to a couple of music tracks. i then imported these to idvd and created my first dvd project which i was pretty pleased with for a first attempt. The only thing i found annoying was that i could not link all the slideshows together in idvd so that they played one after another, instead you had to come back to the menu and start the next one...so i thought i would import these slideshow movies into imovie and create a complete movie with chapters, titles etc. but when i did this i noticed that the quality of the slideshow in imovie was very noticeably worse.
being new to mac i wasnt sure what was up so i thought about importing the photos directly into imovie and working with them there. but once again the quality was really poor compared to the iphoto and idvd slideshows. after this i though maybe its just a preview problem and all will be well when i burn them to dvd and watch them on tv...so i burnt a dvd with one slideshow created in iphoto and imported into idvd and also put on a movie of the same slide show that id imported into imovie and back.
anyway long story short quality still better in slide show created in iphoto.
is there any way to export the movie as high as my project quality everytime i export the quality goes down.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIn FCPX 10.1.3 I was able to set in Preferences the Playback Quality to High Quality. I just purchased FCPx 10.1.4. It has NO such High Quality Option for Playback Quality.
Now all my still clips are blurred badly. Is there an option to set a High Quality Playback Option. Or can I download 10.1.3, the level where that worked ?

When I export my sequence into a Quicktime movie the quality is much worse than it appears in the editor. More specifically, it looks washed out.

Currently my graphics card is the 8800, but I think I've read that you don't have to have the same graphics card to add more monitors (the ATI base graphics card will do just fine). So do I just need to purchase one from apple or am I able to get one cheaper from anywhere else? Also all of the supported graphics cards output 1920X1080 right? And on a side not - this output will be going to my television - is there any way to make front row default to the television output?

Now, I plan on buying an iMac for my bedroom. But I have a decision of buying a LCD TV or using the iMac as a TV as well as a computer. Now it would save me money (as I'm definitely getting an iMac) and I would certainly be happy if it was possible to use the iMac as a TV and hook up the satellite to the TV. Is this possible? If so, please could you direct me to anything I would need to do this?

I bought an iPhone yesterday and I'm already on my second one with a second SIM card. Set up was easy enough but when someone calls me it goes straight to voicemail. This is the same problem I had with the first phone and SIM card. I took the first phone back to AT&T and they replaced the SIM card. When that didn't work I took the iPhone back to an Apple store and they replaced the phone and reinstalled the second SIM card.
I just came home, went through the set up and it still goes straight to voicemail. A friend suggested that it might be in "airplane mode" but I checked and it is off.
Have a Mac mini G4 - 1.42GHz model with 1GB RAM, which I have hooked up to an HDTV via a VGA connection. Plays almost anything I can throw at it with no problem, but I subscribe to a few video podcasts in 720p HD format, and playing them back tends to suffer from skipping on the video.playing back HD video on this model of Mac, or is the G4 simply not up to it?

I have a new mbp and a WD 500gb external, the smaller size ones. When I hook it up directly to the usb port on my comp it mounts, but if I try to use the logitech 4 port usb hub the comp doesn't find the external.

The hub to which it is attached to will be deactivated." Now I have seen this same problem posted, but I have No Device hooked up at all. View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm experiencing a problem with Video DVD's. If I insert them, the drive spins up, and there is the normal reading sign, but after maybe 15 to 20 seconds it ejects the DVD. I can't find any notices about these in /var/log/system.log . Sometimes the DVD's work and sometimes they refuse to get loaded. Is it possible that my DVD Drive is damaged? I have no alternative computer around.

Would it also take up more space since your installing another OS to get to Snow Leopard? i just wanted to get a few things straight before my snow leopard arrives in the mail =o
