View 4 Replies View RelatedI have changed both sets of batteries. Turned them off and back on multiple times. Only reason I am able to ask this question is because I'm using my phone. I need my computer back. No I don't have a wired mouse or keyboard laying around. The mouse isn't registering or moving on the screen. The keyboard was working until I tried turning it off and back on. Now nothing is working.

I bought a new i7 iMac about two months ago and love it but the Bluetooth keyboard it came with recently started acting up. It randomly disconnects and when it does it will type whatever letter I last hit on the keyboard repeatly.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've just bought a Mac mini to use as a media centre, and I picked up the Apple wireless keyboard and mouse while I was at it. It wasn't until I got home that I read the "requirements" section on the side of the mouse and keyboard boxes, where it states that an existing keyboard and mouse are needed for setup.
I have a USB mouse, but no keyboard (my other Mac is a MBP), and nowhere to borrow one from (all my friends have laptops).
My wireless mouse and wireless keyboard are not working... My bluetooth connection must have been lost, yet I can't do anything to fix it because I can't use keyboard or mouse.

Bluetooth says my keyboard is paired, configured, and connected (and it works).Keyboard under System Preferences says "no keyboard found" and it continues to search for the keyboard. I have rebooted and also deleted and added the keyboard. Should I be concerned? Does the iMac need service ?

I was just wondering what all of your thoughts were regarding these two keyboards. I know I can't get the Wireless Pro new anymore, however I can get it used for $20 from someone I know.
The new aluminum one however, I can get for about $40 used or just buy a new one for $70. I'm looking to buy a used one so it's pretty much the Wireless Pro for $20 vs the Wireless Aluminum for $40.
This will be going towards a set-up with my MBP which will be on an mstand, with an external monitor. I've already gotten the Magic Mouse so I'm trying to find a nice Bluetooth keyboard to compliment it.
I wanted a new wireless keyboard and mouse for my MBP, and was wondering if any ol' wireless thing will work with it - you know the gig, receiver which plus into USB, with the kb and mouse connecting to it. Cause i cant be bothered to pay like 50 quid for a wireless apple keyboard, i was wondering if any of these cheap ones you see (liek this, for example now i know the function buttons may not work, but i dont care. Can anyone tell me if something liek this would work, or would it have to be mac made? Like say 'mac compatible' or whatever... but i thought they might not put mac compatible on a keyboard like that cause not all the functions on it will work.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a MacBook Air (late 2011 model), along with the Apple Wireless keyboard. The keyboard is a physical AZERTY (French) layout, but I change the mapping to US using the system preferences.  I work in the Terminal a lot, and I can't find the tilde (~) key. When I type where it would be on a US QWERTY layout, the output is the plus-minus (±) sign. When I type Option+N, I get the tilde accent character (˜). Terminal does not interpret the ~ and ˜characters the same.  My question: How can I enter the ~ character from the wireless keyboard? Currently, I reach up to the Air's integrated keyboard and type it there.

I want to buy an apple wireless keyboard but i want it in SPANISH with the letter " ñ" and when i enter in the apple store online, i see that you can select your language and if i set russian or japanesse, the keyboard in the display turns into that language, but when i pick SPANISH the image displaying is exactly the same as the English one, without the letter " ñ" and this is a must have letter of our alphabet so i want to know if i order that keyboard will come with that letter and thats just an error of the apple store or will it came the same as the English one?Â

I spilled alcohol on macbook keyboard, so I bought and just received a wireless keyboard which I paired with my computer, but the shortcuts at the top of my keyboard aren't doing what they should be doing. I went into system preferences and was able to change it so I can change the brightness, but from F7 to F12, where you are suppose to be able to change the song, play/pause, mute and turn the volume up and down, it does other things. I've tried adding an application to my keyboard shortcuts, added iTunes and then wrote "Volume Up" and set it to F12, and "Volume Down" and set it to F11, but it didn't work. Is there certain words I have to put for it to work?

anyhooser, i followed the instructions for clamshell mode and i still cant get it to work. i have a wireless logitech mouse and keyboard, and i cant make them wakeup the computer when it's closed. i think i tricked it into working once or twice but i cant get it to work consistently.
Can i? Considering mac and windows is a whole different system. Can i use them without pair and repairing?

Latest version of Snow Leopard, patched to the latest on everything. Software update says that everything is up to date.
I've unregistered the keyboard with the iMac and associated it with the Macbook. I'm typing this message with the wireless keyboard no problems.
This is where the problem comes in, when I start up for example MacTheRipper, or Handbrake. Essentially any tool that kicks the CPU into overdrive the keyboard starts acting strangely.
Typing will go to a crawl, it takes longer for the letters to appear, as if in slow motion. It will popup the keyboard disconnect and reconnect image every once in a while and if I leave the keyboard for a while it will disconnect from bluetooth completely, when I then try to reconnect by tapping a key it doesn't connect for sometime. Even if I hold the key down for several seconds.
Once the program has completed processing and the CPU drops back down to nothing, the keyboard works just fine again.
How does one save battery life on the wireless keyboard?

I want to buy a 19inch monitor for my desk because I am going to start coding and the display on my Mac is too small and I want something a little bigger.
What I want to do is connect my macbook to the external monitor with my wireless keyboard and mouse connected to the mac and then close the lid and the display is on the external monitor. So in other words, my macbook is becoming a Mac mini. Â
I recently changed the batteries on my wireless Apple Keyboard. When I turned the Mac back on the keyboard wouldn't connect. Confused, I went in to system preferences where I got this message. I've searched for the problem in Apple Support on their website but to no avail. I have Applecare. Is this something I need to take up with them? Should I take my Mac to a genius bar?

I just picked up a new Mac Pro today, and with it a wireless keyboard. I have not opened the keyboard yet as I think I may prefer the one that came with my Pro. I particularly like the keypad. What do you guys think? How is the tactile feel of the wireless keyboard vs. the stocker?

Have searched on Mroogle but couldnt find what i was looking for.
I have my Blackbook connected to my tv via mini dvi to dvi then to hdmi, but i also have another laptop which is the old style Macbook Pro.
I was looking for a piece of software that would let me use the other laptop which isnt connected to the tv as a wireless keyboard and mouse?
Anyone ever tried this before? Any ideas?
I've been using the wireless keyboard to the new iMad for a couple of weeks now and I don't seem to be acclimating to it very well. When held next to a full size keyboard, it is the same size; however, it doesn't seem to be when I'm typing. I keep missing keys or striking the wrong keys.
The short stroke of the keys is disconcerting.
I miss the number pad and the home, end, and other keys under the (old) F13, F14, and F15 keys. The lack of numbering of the Function keys is also a pain. Having to use the fn with other keys is a pain too.
I can't seem to get used to the size and position of the arrow keys. I miss having a specific delete key. Having to use the fn with backspace is irritating.
Why do I continue to use it? Novelty, I guess. Anyway, what I'd like to know is if any of you guys started out the same way and eventually actually like it better than the old style keyboard?
Should I continue trying or just say fuggit and buy a wired keyboard.? You needn't answer that. That's a rhetorical question.
I realize that a laptop has the same idiosyncrasies and everyone gets used to them.
I DO like the new mouse, but I still prefer the 8 button Logitech. If the new mouse only had a back button, I'd find it more to my liking.
I tried syncing up my new Al bluetooth keyboard with my PS3 and it worked like a charm. I really didn't expect it to, but it functions perfectly.
