I have been recently seeing an issue with my Apple BT Alu KB and MM -- both seem to sporadically drop their connection to my iMac. I am running Leopard and the batteries in both were just recently changed. Its extremely annoying when you try and type something and your KB cuts out.
I have also noticed that my MM is choppy when it is connected.
I recently got FIOS and I love it. My router is in my basement because I wanted to hardwire it into my ps3 and 360. Regardless, the WiFi signal is great throughout my house. For some reason, my Macbook keeps grabbing my neighbors unprotected WiFi signal. I guess on the 2nd floor of my house, his signal is stronger than mine.
It takes 2 seconds to switch it back, but it seems to grab it whenever I wake it from sleep and at other random times. I was thinking of telling my neighbor that he needs to protect his signal, but even if I dont, I want a way to prevent my mac from locking onto the wrong signal.

I have a macbook pro, 2.4ghz intel core 2 duo. Running on embarq with a 660 series dsl modem. My router is the linksys WRT54GS2.
Speed from the actual connection is not the problem, however, signal reception is. At this very moment, my mbp is literally 2 feet away and AirRadar is reporting that my signal average is 62%.
I have a Mac Mini, and recently I buy a television by Sony 3d (46"). For my surprise, the television don't accept the signal from Mac Mini. On the screen appears the message (Signal Incompatible). I change all configurations, but nothing. I call to Sony and they don't have idea about the problem.

I have a I mac and an airport. I've been having problems lately(one month) every time I try to connect to the net. it says there is no connection. if I refresh, it works. the reception icon was showing full (4 bars). 3 days ago, no reception, o bars, today, I got it back. i am about 50 feet away, around a corner outer house wall. nothing has changed in terms of new or moved electronic equipment. I even turned off my 5.0 ghz phone.
any thought on how to fix this?
I have a time capsule hooked up to my mac mini. I don't use it for anything but the hard drive anymore so it is just plugged into the LAN connection. My Mac Mini is getting horrible wifi signal but my MacBook Pro is getting great signal in the same room. I was wondering if the Time Capsule can be used to receive the wifi and run it to my Mac Mini threw the LAN connection? Or can the Time Capsule be used as a repeater and boost the wifi signal?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy TimeCapsule drops the WiFi signal every 10 minutes or so for about 10 seconds; the light is blinking yellow during that time, and then it comes back to everything ok.
The TC is in Bridge Mode behind my router. I can connect to the internet via the router all the time - no connection lags there, it's just the TimeCapsule that stops the connection. No entries in it's logs, though.
I'm running 10.6.2, and the TimeCapsule is on 7.4.2 (same issue on 7.3.2 and 7.4.1).
As it is, it basically kills iChat and Skype on top of it's impact on web browsing and the like.
I have Elgato EyeTV Digital TV Recorder Version 2.5.3 (3313) running under OSX version 10.4.11 and using a Miglia TVMini (TVM01) USB 2.0 DVB-T Digital Video Recorder device.
Recently, (after no software changes except maybe a osx/safari/itunes update, but I can't imagine why this would cause a problem), certain channels now display "No Signal", and when I check the preferences Signal info, these channels have a strength and quality of 0%. This seemed to happen all of a sudden, and I now cannot get the channels working again (despite trying a signal booster, re-scanning all channels) while other receivers (i.e. a TV) seem to work fine from the same input.
A full listing of the channel titles (and numbers) which are displayed as having 0% strength and quality are: Yesterday (12), 4music (18), Film4 (15), Viva (21), Ideal World (22), ITV4 (24), Dave ja vu (35), Big Deal (32), Virgin+1 (35), Create & Craft (36), Rocks & Co (40), Lottery Xtra (45) Russia Today (85), smileTV2 (94), Babestation (96), Babestation2 (99).
how to get these channels back working again?
Does anyone know how accurate the 2010 macbook pro wifi signal strength monitor is? There are times I have full bars but my internet is really slow, or stops working all together for a few minutes. I THINK, because I'm on a different floor than the router, which would explain reduced signal. BUT my computer says I have full bars.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have my new Imac, and in my lounge I have a cable TV set-top box.How (if) can I take the signal from my set-top box and use my Imac as a 24" TV in my bedroom? I looked at USB TV tuner devices, but they seem geared towards a normal analogue antenna, is there a easier and or cheaper way to simple take the set-top box output and watch it full screen on my IMac? The cabling isn't a problem as I am an electrician, its working out the best device or interfaces I could use?
FYI My set-top box has the following outputs (assume there outputs)on it..
-A yellow Video RCA (composite?)
-Normal stereo audio RCAs
-S-VHS (the round multi-pin plug)
I've been trying to set up an AEBS and it tells me everythings working fine but none of my computers are able to see it wirlessly also if i unplug the ethernet from it then it stops working all together.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an airport express at my house. We just got our kids a computer for their room. it is on the other sid eof the house from where I have the express set up at. We're looking about 60-70 feet away. I got a bridge from work to try to and get it up and running, but it just won't pick up the signal. I tested my iphone in their room, and the wireless signal drops on it too.
I'm not sure what to do about it at this point.
I just hooked up my TV to my Mac using an ADC to DVI converter and a very long DVI to DVI. I'm getting a no signal message from my TV. I'm really new to Macs and therefore I'm sure I'm just missing a really simple way to change the display settings to output to both monitor and TV. I can't find any advanced display settings of any kind. I swear I tried to search the forums, but I couldn't find a thing.

I had a monitor set up and working on my MacBook, but the monitor was crap. I disconnected it, and then re-connected it a couple of days later while I waited for my new one to arrive and found that my computer was no longer seeing my monitor. Since it was going away, I wasn't concerned and just figured I'd wait until I got the new one.

Connecting the two with a mini-DVI to DVI cable (tried a mini-DVA to VGA and that didn't work either - both the computer and the monitor didn't see each other)
PROBLEM DETAILS:
My computer thinks it is mirroring and/or spanning. In the display settings I can see both my laptop monitor and the new one and can even mess with the arrangement and turn on and off the mirroring.
My monitor however says ""there is no signal coming from your computer." and it tells me to touch keys or the mouse to wake up the mac.
I have the DVI input selected and I have tried toggling through the different input modes and still nothing.
ATTEMPTS AT FIXING:
I have restarted
Reset the PRAM at start up
unplugged and re-plugged in everything
put computer to sleep, woken back up
restarted with the monitor connected and WITHOUT it connected....
NOTHING is working.
I don't know what the problem can be and what I can do to fix it.... Any thoughts or fixes?
I bought a 1/8" to 2 rca male Y cable and my TV speakers still don't get any signal. At first I thought it was a bad cable so i got a new one but I still have the same failed results.

I just recieved my Mini DP to DVI adapter so that I can use my second 23" Apple display. I just upgraded to ATI Radeon HD 5770 so now I have 1 DVI and 2 mini DP. I want to run 1 display off of the DVI and 1 off of the Mini DP. Both displays work with the DVI port but neither of them work on the Mini DP with the adapter.
I know that I need to upgrade to Snow Leopard for the ATI Radeon HD 5770 to fully function. I am waiting for the upgrade to arrive in the mail. Do I need to be running Snow Leopard for the Mini DisplayPorts to work at all or is there something I can fix before the upgrade?

My Macbook Pro won't hold a wireless signal. I don't have another wireless signal to test, but have tested other devises which connect fine.
'07 model MBP core duo running OS4.11 + original Airport (hey it still works). The MBP will only stay connected now if my base station within 10' or so. It might connect 30' away, but looses the signal after loading a few pages online. It seems like its getting worse -- maybe not, but seems like it is. I can connect just find with my other MBP, iPod (streaming audio across the house, etc) and PS3.
I saw there were threads about the new pros... but does anyone have problems with the late 2008 finding a WiFi signal? I watched it for 5 mins and the network didn't even showbup on the list..my eve and touch both find it fine though...(eve two bars touch 3-4) suggestions? Is it just mine that has bad reception? the evo is known for bad signal strength, And even it can pick it up.

But my second Sony 19" monitor hooked up though DisplayPort Converted to VGA does not receive signal. It is detected by Display but no signal is being sent to it. When I have only the monitor though the DisplayPort hooked up it doesn't receive signal but when I have one only though the MiniDVI it displays fine so I know its not the Monitors.

I connected the cable to my WS external LCD and I can't get it to fill up the whole screen. I normally set my screen to 1080X1050 under Vista. When I set that under my Macbook I only get small screen in the middle of my monitor.
Second question. I press F7 to get the picture to display on my monitor. When I close the macbook I lost the signal. Do I have to wait until the Macbook go into sleep mode before I can close it?
I cant connect my guitar to mac pro 08. I see the signal but dont sound. Please how I cant with software?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy setup is TimeCapsule (router/base station) running in 2.4 G mode, 2 widows laptops in G mode, and a older Airport Express 'G' standard. Today, I would say the network between the TimeCapsule is OK. I have a emac connected running tiger and it surfs alright but downloads are just slow (10k/sec downloads). Streaming itunes music works OK, but just forget about video podcasts.
My laptops can all surf OK to, but again the WiFi is not great.Somedays however nothing seems to work, iTunes is very glitchy (rebuffering every 5-20 seconds), And surfing is just painful. Yet upstairs plugged into the router the net is up and everything is good.
Now I work from home a lot, so I know using the microwave interferes with the G network. But these problem just seem to happen and it's either a OK day or everything just sucks. Short of spending the time and effort of going to 'N', how will I know what the cause of these problems are?
My Timecapsule is upstairs in the Hall, the house is open concept maybe max 50' between devices my Signal / Noise is -60/-90 most times. I'm also thinking to going with the powerline modems.
I'm all of the sudden having problems with the airport connection in my MacBook Pro laptop at home. In areas where it used to work---a week ago--the signal comes and goes from 4-5 bars to all of the sudden none and I am disconnected from my wireless internet. View 4 Replies View RelatedI received my new mac mini last week and installed a few things on it over the weekend so that I can run it as an HTPC. Works great but I am having one issue and that is with the video signal. I have the mac mini connected to my Samsung 720p LCD TV with VGA using Apple's miniport to vga adaptor.
When the TV is already turned on and I start the mini or bring the mini out of sleep then everything works OK. However if the TV is off and I start the mini or bring it out of sleep and then turn on the TV, I get a "no video signal" message.
