It seems to happen randomly...sometimes it's there, sometimes not and I must go to Networking icon and all the steps to reconnect!. (My iPad2 and IPhone are not having this problem...or perhaps their 3G has kept me from noticing.)

Dec 1, 2014I've spent the past few hours attempting to connect my new Windows 8.1 laptop to my iMac's Airport signal without any success. Â I was able to do this very thing using Windows 7 on an old laptop. From what I've been reading, it seems that the ability to connect to networks secured with "WEP-Shared" type security has been removed in Windows 8 because of the fact that it was outdated and insecure. It's great that Microsoft is trying to force individuals to be secure, but unfortunately the iMac's airport utility does not offer any alternatives.

May 6, 2012I have a box of old 2DD 720 KB floppies containing sound banks for a 1991 synthesizer. I have looked in vain for a USB floppy disk drive that will read the MIDI files and transfer them to my desktop so I can use them in Logic 8. Problem is.... NO ONE really seems to give ALL of the info I need. Some drives do not say they are Mac-compatible; most say nada or dance around it. Others say HD disks only. The Amazon customer reviews are similarly iffy. This is a one-time need, but I want to get it right.
Do any of you know of a USB floppy drive that will really do this job?

At first this only allowed me to play the WMA files through Quicktime. So I read a bit more and it said I needed Flip4Mac Pro to use Quicktime components to convert WMA and other windows files to MP3 and other Mac compatible formats. So I bought Flip4Mac Pro. My iMac came preloaded with Quicktime X and when I open a WMA file in Quicktime and click export, the only option it gives me is "Audio Only" and it does not successfully export. Does anyone know how to use Flip4Mac Pro to convert WMA files to MP3? Â
I have already purchased Flip4Mac Pro and I simply would like to know how to use what I already have.
