Can't figure why, but my canon mark II 5d doesn't mount in osx. I've gotten it to mount in windows 7 on my PC before without drivers, but it fails on my mac (without even a message). Nothing happens.
I have 10.6 on a macbook pro.
I bouth upgrade to the CS5 and got CS6 but it looks taht my iMac 10.5.8 cannot install Ps Cs6 since its software is too old ( 10.5.8). Do I need new computer to do so cause I cannot find upgrade to my computer which is not that old ( I bouth it in Jan 2009). What can I do.

After upgrading to Maverick on my 2.93 GHz Intel core 2 duo processor with 4 GB memory and a 10.9.4 version for my OS X my canon MG5220 all in one printer scanner shows as MP Navigator EX quits unexpectedly.

I have a Dual 1.8 G5. I've been experiencing shutdowns at start up but came to the conclusion that it was the primary hard drive failing somehow. So I installed 10.4 on a secondary hard drive and use that as my main and it works.
So this hard drive that failed is readable when I boot from CD and run disk utility. But if I boot in 10.4 the disk doesn't mount but it shows up in disk utility as unmounted. Also shows up in system profiler.
Is there a way I can get this drive to mount so I can make backups of stuff on there? Right now I'm transferring files using Terminal when I boot from CD - it would be easier if i can use a GUI interface to do this.
I'm sorry to say that all was OK until.. I updated OS to 10.5.6 two days ago.. and my external 1T Seagate Freeagent Desktop for Mac stopped mounting on Firewire.
It will mount on USB, it will mount on FW when Mac is restarted, but will not when you boot up after your system was shut down.
I tried to reformat, repair the disk, repair permissions and nothing worked.
Somebody posted that you should disconnect your Firewire stuff before OS update? Is this correct?
Can anyone please suggest anything as I don't want to end up having this HD hooked with USB...
Alternatively how can I revert to the OS before the update? Is restoring from Time Machine the only solution?
I use Backup (the Mac app) to backup some things to my iDisk and others to an hd connected to my airport extreme. It works fine, except for that when the app appears (each day) for the scheduled backup to the network hd, (it sits there waiting, saying ''waiting for volume... and the name of the disk"). I have to go to the finder, open a window, go to 'All' under 'Shared' locations, choose the network hd, click on the folder (there's only one one the disk) and then, and only then, will the backup begin. Is there any way for it to just be able to find the folder by itself and perform the backup without my having to find the folder for it every time?

A new Hitachi external HDD i downloaded will open in disk utility, but wont allow me to partition to format (gives me an error) and wont let me run repair or anything else. Trying to figure this one out.
All it will let me do is erase the drive to FAT
I am most certain that this is the case: foolishly, I didnt leave much free space and now the disk doesnt want to mount. I tried the single user mode, I also booted from DVD, they appear but the disk utility shows the disk but I cannot repair the disk, because it is unmounted. I tried the basic commands in single user mode, no effect either. I still cant get over the blue screen with the apple logo and a circle running. I need to free up some spasce. Unforetunately, important files were not backedup, so I really cant delete the whole disk. I need to delete specific files. I dont know where are my big files located - so, how do I orientate myself among the folders? Lets say I would delete my itunes libary, which I would later on renew thanks to the back/up, how would I delete them?

I'm having an issue with my PowerBook G4. It wouldn't turn on at all before, so I installed another motherboard. Now it will power on, but it only shows this folder icon that blinks. I'm a complete n00b to macs. If this were a PC I would of fixed it by now. I need some help. I've tried the installation disk, but when I hold down the C key, it takes longer, but it just shows that folder again. When I hold down the Option key, it only gives me a reload button, and an arrow button, but no boot up options. Do you think it could be a problem with this other used motherboard? Or is it that I just didn't put it in right? I've double checked all the hardware, and it seems to be all connected. The keyboard lights up, and the trackpad works, and it makes the boot-up sound.

I can't delete e-mails, I can't mark them as read, and if I try to move an e-mail to another mailbox, it's copied, not moved.I've tried repairing disk permissions, and I've tried to remove the account and then adding it again ? but the problem persists. I have a Canon mp450 multifunction printer attched to my windows machine. I have shared the printer to my wireless network and my other windows machines can print to it with no problem at all but... Both of my macs will not print to it. I have tried to go through the printer setup wizard but it doesnt find my printer under default browser. I am trying to connect to it on my mac over the wireless network in our house. The printer is set up to be shared and works over the network as we can print from our Windows Vista Laptop wirelessly. Our wireless network is set up over a Belkin router. On my mac I am managing to see files on the computer that the printer is connected to. On that PC I can see shared folders on my mac. When I go to print something on my mac i get the error "Error Number : 311 Printer is in use or an error has occured. If an error has occured eliminate the cause of the error." See below - Thumbnail 1] And on the windows pc in the print queue window the print job shows up as a "Remote Downlevel Document" with a file size of 0kb and nothing gets printed. I have visited canons website and tried all OS X drivers including the CUPS version and NON-CUPS version. I do not know what I am doing wrong in my printer setup.

View 1 Replies View RelatedRunning SL 10.6.1 I have the following two printers: Canon i860 and the Canon S9000 connected to my computer via a USB bridge. I have downloaded the lastest drivers from Canon for both of the above mentioned printers. I have even switched (for the 860) to the driver that was supplied by Apple. Every time I print, the colors are super dark and the colors are also off. IE a bright ruby red will be maroon in color. The color is completely off. I have tried printing from Photoshop CS3, iPhoto 09 and also Canon Easy Photo Print. The colors will come out pretty much the same no matter what I am using. I have changed out my inks. Didn't work. I have tried pretty much every setting under the above programs and nothing is printing correctly. I have never had this problem. I don't know if it is Canon's driver issue under SL or if this is a printer issue for both of my printers. I have sent in a request to Canon but in the mean time, trying to figure this out. I have printed 50 pictures of the same picture trying to get the color down and nothing is working. I have searched google, made sure I had the correct ICC for the printers and printer paper. The only thing I haven't done, which I am just thought about as I am typing this is trying connecting the printer directly to my Mac Pro instead of going through the bridge. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have purchased a Canon D480 for my office and I am trying to network the multifunction Canon through my Time Capsule. I have a MacBook Pro and the Canon D480 is unable to auto detect the IP address so that I can print. I downloaded the drivers from Canon's website, dropped the Canon folder from the disk that came with the Printer into my Mac HD, added the canon printer and now I get a error message stating that the "recipient not found". I tried to manually add the IP Address, subnet mask and the gateway address and that hasn't worked either. I'm at my wits end and I'm not a technical person. Is there anyone that can help me with this problem?

I've just moved from Windows 7 to a new iMac, and nearly everything has been smooth with the transfer - except my scanner.
I have a Canon LiDE 30 which works perfectly well with my Windows box but does nothing at all when I plug it into the iMac. I am getting nowhere with installing the Canon LiDE 210 scanner software on my 2010 MBP. All I get when I try to scan is "insufficient memory". I can scan using Image Capture and with the trial VueScan software so the problem looks as if it is something to do with the Canon software or the way that it installs on the MBP.

I am using a Canon MP620 all in one with my MacPowerbook running Leopard 10.5.8. My Canon software is MP Navigator 1.05. The printer is agonizely slow. Sometimes after I press the print button it can take over a minute to even start. This not only occurs when I first start up but after the printer has been in use. This occurs when printing black and white text or pictures. I have been going through a hub and have not yet tried a direct connect which I will shortly. Anyone got any ideas or is this just a slow printer?

It is recognized, I can print a sample page from the printer utility, but InDesign CS5, Acrobat Pro, Word 2011, text edit, Firefox, etc won't print to it. I'm not sure what caused this to start happening, as I've had this printer for almost a year. It is recognized on both USB and WIFI, yet neither connection works.
