Just got my Creative Inspire T12s in. I hooked them up to my MBP and powered them up. The left speaker isn't working. I checked the L/R balance in iTunes and everything looks fine. There is an audio cable that connects to the MBP, and a cable that connects from the left speaker to the right speaker.

just came home from Apple Store today with new computer and superdrive, which is not showing up when plugged in. When I put a CD in it reads it for a few seconds then spits it out. I am on the road so getting to an Apple Store will not be easy for the next week.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just bought a brand new charger and it stopped working after about the third charging cycle. The light just simply doesn't go on and the computer doesn't read anything.
Weird thing though is that my old charger did the same thing at the end (although if you jiggled the connection it worked)? Could it be my computer? Although I tested the charger on another computer and it didn't work either. and a different charger on my computer worked.
Is this common for the new chargers that there are lemons once in a while?
Could it be because I left the plastic over the charger to prevent scratches?
Will apple exchange it for a new one or are they gonna give me a problem cause I really don't think this should have happened.
I recently got a PowerMac G4. When I viewed it Everything was working. Upon me hooking it back up I noticed It was not getting any picture. The Monitor was brand new so I did not figure it to be broken I checked the monitor on another computer and it worked great. From what I understand this is a common internal problem on the G4.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have iTunes 10.6.1 (7) an Airport Extream Version 6.0 Airport Utility (600.92) That I use with two airport express stations, an Apple TV 2nd Generation with latest software up date. Also have Ipad 3rd Generation and two I phone 4's. Issue: After installing the latest Airport Utility software update I'm unable to connect to my remote speakers in iTunes.  The speakers are visible in the pop up menu but iTunes times out when trying to connect. If I use remote to select Apple TV and then via Apple TV select my Computers Library I'm able to play music on the Apple TV / Home Speakers... but still not the Airport Express Stations.Â
When using remote on the iPhone or iPad the speakers are visible as well but I'm unable to select them... iTunes times out. I can steam music from that is on my iPhone or iPad to each individual speaker, but multiple speaker control is not available and the music from my library is not available. I believe the problem is in the Airplay feature of iTunes and I believe the problems arise when you install the latest version of Airport Utility.   You can play on remote speakers, only one at a time, and only if you have the music on a stand alone device (iPhone or iPad)... in summary, bypass iTunes and you can be successful... marginally successful.
I have just aquired a slot loading iMac g3. It is a blueberry model, with a 350 MHz g3, and 512 megs of ram. Not that that matters. Anyway, it seems to have been dropped and has a crack above the crt. The speakers also do not work. I plugged in a pair of speakers in both of the headphone jacks. Nothing. The audio port. Nothing. I checked the volume, and it was at full blast. Not even a peep from the speakers. The sound area in the system preferences did not have an option for internal speakers, it was just greyed out with headphones as the selection. By the way, it is running Tiger. I opened it up, and everything is connected. I took the logic board off, and everything is fine. I put it back together and booted it up and... NOTHING..... What could be going wrong?

When I hook up headphones everything is fine, but when I'm on the computer itself, no sound comes out, a red light is coming from my headphone jack, and the volume controls don't do anything (volume stays at max and there's a white circle with diagonal sign thru it, like a no smoking sign) and I don't get sound.

I have iTunes 10.6.1 on my Macbook Pro and was using the multiple speakers feature with my 2 airport expresses very successfully until recently. Now when I try to use multiple speakers within iTunes it recognizes those speakers but can't connect. I've tried resetting both airport expresses but nothing. I have all the recent upgrades and haven't done anything out of the ordinary to change things up.Â
I also know it isn't the airport expresses because I have another product called Airfoil that streams music wirelessly from any source to those speakers via the airport express and that works fine. So it's definitely something specifically to do with iTunes.Â
One last thing, when I stream iTunes via the Airfoil I have no problems. So again, it's definitely something to do with iTunes.Â

So the sound on my Macbook Pro is NOT working. I went to the sound settings and the internal speakers option under output is gone. I reset the PRAM and when it did its "second boot", the apple sound played just fine. As soon as I logged in again, the option is still gone and I am getting no sound.

My internal speakers in my PowerPC G4 just magically stopped working! It recognizes them in system preferences. And yes, the volume is up. I dont know what happened. The headphones do work. I havent tested external speakers yet, but that's next on the list.

Yesterday my speakers stopped working. It's not software based, the audio drivers are working properly. Whenever a sound that is over a certain volume is played, you can hear a pop come from the speakers. For instance, if I play a song that has fluctuating volume, every time the volume goes up, there's a pop, and every time it goes back down, there's a pop. The volume the computer is set to doesn't effect this. Even if it's muted, there's still a pop that's the same volume as if the volume is turned up all the way. Any ideas what could be causing this?

This may appear to be a hardware issue, but I'm of the opinion that it will prove to be a software problem, so I'd appreciate it if the topic was left here. Over the past couple of days I've had problems with getting the internal speakers on my 1.33ghz PB to work while I've been logged into my user area (the only user area on the computer). When the computer is initially booted up I hear the usual boing! but once I'm signed in I can't get any sound out of the speakers. I've been to 'Sound' in System Preferences and checked that all of the settings are correct and that Mute isn't selected, and everything appears to be ok. I've also tried inserting a movie DVD to see if this changes anything, but the DVD starts a plays the video, but still no sound.
I haven't dropped the computer, or spilt water on it, so I would think it is almost definitely a software issue (backed up by the fact that I get the initial BOING!! sound). I never play the speakers at full volume so I would very much doubt that they'd be shot either. I've tried shutting down and restarting the computer, but this does not always fix the problem. A perfect example of how erratic the problem is that when I booted the computer around 10 minutes ago there was no sound - tried playing music in iTunes and nothing... I've just started iTunes and wahey - music playing through the speakers! Also, last night while playing a DVD, the sound was perfect for a good 20 minutes or so, but then all sound from the speakers was lost and only the video was running.
I recently installed XP with bootcamp on my MacBook Pro. The big problem I'm having is that the internal speakers on my computer don't have sound coming out of them. (When I'm on windows) The volume control on my keyboard doesn't do anything, either. When I go to find my sound control, to make sure it's not muted or anything, I find that I can't even edit the sound controls. It says I don't have a device that can output sound, even though my internal speakers work fine on my mac desktop. It can't seem to find my internal speakers, when I try setting up a new device. I'm having a lot of trouble setting up internet on the XP as well, I just don't understand how to do it. (I've used mac all my life, I am really new to windows.) Basically, I have a wireless internet connection, I've got the router downstairs, and the information is handy. But I just don't know how to set it up, and I don't know what type of internet connection I want.
View 8 Replies View RelatedA week ago my internal speakers disappeared from audio outputs on my 1G MBA (1.6/80gb). they would come back with a restart for a while, but now there just gone.
Another thing that is happening is that when the speakers are "missing", quicktime video is choppy, as is streamed video (like youtube). I also tried the garage band analysis and got the "Core Audio Selected Driver not found.(-10202)" message.
Other then these things, the computer is functioning flawlessly...
speakers are not working, headphone jack is. Have tried reset pram, and reset the nvram..it worked fine this morning, at the moment it showing a circle with a slash, and is greyed out in the volume control in toolbar

I tested many different headphones and speakers, and none of them work. I am suspecting a hardware issue, because when I plug it in, i head the static while it is being plugged in. However it does not switch the audio. The only thing is, if it was a hardware problem, wouldn't it be stuck in the headphone mode because the switcher is stuck?

View 13 Replies View RelatedI had my computer plugged into some external computer speakers (nothing where I had to downlaod any software, I have used these speakers before), and when I removed them, all of a sudden the built in speakers weren't working. I tried to adjust the vollume, but I get the volume image with a little "forbidden" circle and cross underneath. I tried adjusting the settings in System Preferences, but when I got to the audio settings there was only the one "Optical digital-out port". I then updated my computer, but still no luck. Lastly I went to Utilities and to Audio Midi Setup to reset everything to the default settings, but I am unable to adjust everything. It's all that lighter shade of grey that tells me I can't select it.Â

Since upgrading to Lion about 1 month ago, I was having intermittent audio issues, which were resolved by re-starting my computer (not ideal but it worked). Today, the speakers just stopped working. The internal speakers work, but when I plug the externals into the headphone port, they don't produce sound. Earbuds in the same port also don't work (but the earbuds are good). The external speakers are being recognized by the sound panel in system preferences.

My headphone jack for my iMac Intel (white) has stop working. When ever I try to connect a pair of headphones or external speakers, the iMacs internal speakers stop playing but no sound comes out of the headphones or externals.
