Software :: Apple Bluetooth Keyboard Stopped Working / Itunes Stopped Working
May 13, 2009I installed 10.5.7 yesterday. Immediately after the installation was complete, my Apple bluetooth keyboard stopped working. Went into Bluetooth system settings, and it said that there was no bluetooth hardware found... (it's built into the machine!!)...
Also, every time I start iTunes, it gives some weird error about Adobe Flash player. I'm not at home now so I don't have the exact wording of the error with me, sorry...
IMac :: Finding Apple Remotes And 27 Inchers
Mar 5, 2010I've been having the problem with my i7 iMac that the computer randomly stops responding to my remote about 5 minutes after I start using it. I can unpair/pair the two and they'll work for about another 5 minutes, but then it happens again and the remote is useless until I go mess around with the machine. This problem has been noted by noted by several people over at the Apple forums, but I hadn't seen it mentioned here. I guess the first question is asking if anyone with a 27" iMac and remote DOESN'T have this problem (i.e., has an iMac that doesn't crap out and stop recognizing the remote periodically). I've got both the old white remote and the new aluminum remote and it happens with both, so it's definitely an iMac issue rather than a remote issue.

May 21, 2012My Apple Remote recently stopped working with my iMac and I cant figgure out how to get it to work again. I've changed the batteries and I get a blinking light when I hold it up to the iSight camera. It was paired with my mac, but didn't work, so I tried unpairing it and re-pairing it, however, now it wont pair again. It worked fine untill about a month ago, then just stopped working.

this includes the app store, software update from the apple menu, messages.app etc (iPhoto, mail all work fine)
when i noticed it, it for on stickies.app - i went to my backup, copied the .plist file from that and pasted it to the version on the computer. it began working fine - now I've backed up over the top of that so no more option...
ive repaired permissions etc all the usual steps

Sep 22, 2006So recently my apple remote stopped working. It is sending a signal cause I checked with a digital camera to see the light working. I do not have the "Disable IR Receiver" checked in the Security prefs. I do have the newest software of EyeTV as well as an Elgato EyeTV 250, however that never caused an issue in the past, nor do I think it is the cause of the current problem. Also my remote is not paired to a specific computer. Does anyone know the sich? OR Where are the Apple Remote config files / any Apple Remote files located so I can replace them with my friend's files on her iMac.

Apr 5, 2012have been using Mail (to my Yahoo account) for a few weeks. A few days ago it just stopped working. Checked the Connection Doctor, no issues, able to connect with the Yahoo server. I am able to send email, just not receive. After a bit of reading I tried to do the Rebuild but it is greyed out. Also not able to delete email messages that are in the mailbox, I delete them but they are not actually deleted, they re-appear. Now I get a message box 'The file 10217.emlx' cannot be opened because there is no such file'.

May 21, 2012I have an Apple wireless keyboard and the F1 and F2 keys don't work. I am connecting to a early 2010 Mac mini and running OS X 10.7.4. Seemed like it quit working when I updated to 10.7.4. I've reset my SMC and PRAM twice. Is this a 10.7.4 bug? Any fixes?

OS X :: Time Machine & Spotlight Stopped Working
Sep 16, 2010I'm running 10.6.4 on an Intel 2.4Ghz MacBook with 2G RAM.
Time Machine & Spotlight have both stopped working. I back-up to an external HD which is fine, (checked with Disk utility and dragging and dropping stuff onto it).
I have tried to rebuild the Spotlight data by putting my HD in the 'privacy' and then removing it, but this hasn't worked. It just hangs on 'estimating time......'.
Time machine seems to go through the checking process ok but then can't write the data across to the external.I have reinstalled the system but it's just the same.

May 29, 2008I have been connecting wirelessly to the same router for about 4 months now, using DHCP, and having the settings on the automatic connection. I left the computer on, but closed, so sleeping, for about two days. When i opened it, the battery did not yet run out but the internet has not connected since.
I have full connection in internet connect to my network. Status says connected. If I have the IPv4 using DHCP, the status says that i am connected but my computer have a self-assigned IP adress. When I put in the IP manually, the Network setting give me a green light on airport and says that I am connected to the network thru airport. Needless to say, no browsers (Firefox, Safari, Netscape, or Internet Explorer) have been able to connect to the internet.
I have tried running Disk Utility for any errors, but there have been no changes.

I have tried a number of different CDs and DVDs and none will spin up. I can verify that by looking at the position of the disk when I put it in and take it out, it never moves.I have tried the usual reboot and resetting the PRAM. OS X :: MBP Screen Just Stopped Working
Mar 15, 2010My MBP's (October 2007) screen just stopped working. I don't know what's up. It's not the backlight, because I've turned my backlight off before and you can still see the screen faintly, but I can't see anything. I ran to Target to buy an external monitor - but they were out, so I bought a TV (Sylvania lc195slx) in hopes of that working. Well, it didn't work. I am currently using a newer MBP (September 2009) borrowed for a few minutes from a friend to write this and test the TV.
Her MBP was able to hook up to the TV just fine. So now I'm wondering if there is a video driver error or something. This is really bad timing, as I have to do a presentation on Tuesday for a final and I'm still working on finding the information. Anyway, if you can offer any advice to get the screen and/or tv working, that would be great! And I'm using my DVI to VGA adapter to plug my computer into the tv.
