Final Cut Pro X :: 10.1 - Share Menu Is Greyed Out
Jun 3, 2014I have fcpx 10.1 and went to share and the menu is greyed out. Everything works fine, I just can't share it.
View 1 RepliesI have fcpx 10.1 and went to share and the menu is greyed out. Everything works fine, I just can't share it.
View 1 RepliesI have created a project, but when I chose "Share," all of the options are greyed out.
I have the project active in the timeline, but it still isn't allowing any "Share" option.
Other projects in the browser allow me to share with all of the choices seemingly available.

I installed and uninstalled Aqua Connect Trial today (Terminal Server / Remote Desktop for Mac) and I'm fairly certain I now have 2 major issues because of it.Googled for the past hour for a solution but found nothing so far.
- in the menu the Sleep item is greyed out. I cannot click it, the keyboard shortcut for sleep doesn't work and pressing the power button does nothing
- all my animations aren't smooth anymore like expose, dock, dashboard, etc
I'm pulling my hair out of frustration
When opening a Mail message with any sort of scripting, many of the menu items remain greyed out, including the one that's important to me, 'Save Attachments...'.
If I manually open the same message, the menu items are enabled.
Try this script, by resetting the mailbox name to one of your own mailboxes, and you'll see what I mean.
(I've lodged a bug report).

I've just updated to FCPX 10.1.3 and cannot get the "share" dialog to appear anymore. I've tried calling it up through the file menu, through Command-E and through the little share icon on the right. When attempting through file, the file menu disappears as if the command has been recognised, yet no dialogue appears. When attempting through the share button, there is not suggestion that even my click has been recognised, yet I am able to click "add destination" at the bottom.
I've tried opening up a new, blank project and adding a single, unaltered clip and get the same problem. As mentioned before, I'm running FCPX 10.1.3, on OSX 10.9.4. I've used FCP on my machine before (including exporting) with no problems.

How do i share just part of my project? I selected the clips I want to share but when I go to share it wants to share the whole project. I just want to share half of it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedBefore I ask this question, I just want to emphasize that I KNOW how easy it is to create a service using automator. I'm not looking to clutter up my contextual menu more than it already is, I would just like to edit/alter an already existing submenu, or simply add a new one like Dropbox does.
I would like to add a share option to my right-click contextual share option for outlook, or whatever app/service I would like to send the file with.
add a share option to the contextual-menu, and possibly delete some I don't use, like flickr or twitter.

I have been successfully been able to make several videos using Final Cut Pro X, about 12 already, and for some reason, it just doesn't want to anymore!!
I share the file via Apple Devices 1080p and i get that l title notification that says "Share successful" but the file doesn't show up at all! Normally, they pop up at the Home Videos folder deep inside the iTunes folder thingo. They're not anywhere on this mac.

So ive been having alot of trouble with rendering a 6 minute video on Final Cut Pro X.
I go to file, share, and use HD 1080p, the video gets about 25% through when this error comes ups:
and then when i click on 'details' this comes up:
Ive looked up this problem and I cannot find a solution, I've tried doing whatever i can think of like copy and pasting it all into a different project and trying that, creating a new event and pasting it into a project there, ive tried turning off App Nap too.
Also, all throughout editing this actual video i kept running out of disk space and alot of errors would come up, so when this error came up i thought it might be that and i deleted alot of things i didnt need and cleared out my trash but it hasnt made a difference.

I'm transitioning from FCP 7 and a Sony DV camera to FCP X and a Canon HD camera. I shot video of a dance performance in HD 1920 x 1080, 59.94P. I imported the AVCHD clips into FCP X with the copy media option. One clip is 1:26:57 (1 hr, 26 min ...) and the other is 1:21:43 long
When I used FCP 7 I created sub-clips for each dance before laying them down on the timeline. In this FCP X project I created compound clips off of the longer of the two AVCHD clips (the performance up to intermission), created a project named DVD 1 and moved the compound clips to the timeline and added titles.
If I follow my old workflow, the next step would be to send to Compressor and then import into DVD Studio Pro but I want to burn a simple DVD to check out how the titles look but when I try to send the project to Compressor the "Send to Compressor" and "Share" menu items are grayed out. If I select the original 1:26:57 AVCHD the options are also grayed out but if I select the slightly shorter 1:21:43 clip they are not. If I select any of the compound clips the option are also grayed out.

I have just finished editing a video that I made and when I go to click to Export literally nothing happens and when I try to share to youtube an error message pops up. This isn't my first time as I have exported videos before.

Making DVD, chapters from Final Cut Pro X to Compressor 4.1 do not fully transfer for the DVD menu. I can get the title of the chapters by clicking "include subtitles" but the associated picture for the chapter does not show (though it will on iDVD). So I have a boring menu with the words but not the picture. For example, one chapter is of Baltra, Galapagos. The island isn't shown though the chapter says, "Baltra"

I have foolishly allowed a Library to build up on my boot disk and wish to move it to an external.
I know I can shutdown FCP X and copy it across manually but I would like to use the "Move Library" control in the File Menu.
For some reason it's greyed out in spite of me selecting the Library.

I've realized that sometimes I "lose" my wireless signal. I am not using an AirPort router (I'm using Linksys, if that's at all helpful). I've noticed that suddenly all of the wireless signals disappear from the AirPort menu up on the menu bar, except the network that I am connected to (i.e., I only see my router's name there). It also becomes impossible for me to browse the internet, so what I've done to troubleshoot this is disable the AirPort, put the computer to sleep, and disconnect/reconnect my router. When I turn it on, it seems to work. I've also tried simply disabling and then re-enabling AirPort, but it doesn't work after that.
View 2 Replies View Relatedmy "services" menu has disappeared as an option in finder. When I try to access it by right-clicking a finder item (folder or file), it's just plain missing. However if I look for it under the finder menu bar, the arrow beside service says 'building'. But I've been waiting for hours and it doesn't look like anything's happening.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently bought myself a Macbook Pro 13-inch model and I've been loving it so far. One thing that really bugs me is how bad the menu navigation is in OS X. I just read this on Macrumors and the only way to access menu from keyboard is by using ctrl+F2 key for which I have to press ctrl+fn+f2 key since F2 is a secondary function. Also, there is no way of going directly to the middle of the menu by keyboard shortcuts, right? If that is true, Mac OS X is still not polished enough for laptops. is there are a better way to control the menu items?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have reinstalled the OS twice now and I am running 10.5.1. Oddly enough sometimes the minimize button just becomes greyed out and I have to closed the app and reopen it. It seem to happen to all apps including finder.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've been searching everywhere for a solution to this: For a while I've been downloading audio plays, which come in about 30 tracks and which I put onto a CD then re-import after joining all the tracks to make them more manageable. This was working fine until today, when suddenly the "Join CD tracks" option is no longer available but greyed out. I've made sure the CD tracks are listed correctly - by track number - and I've made sure that the original tracks downloaded have been deleted before trying to re-import them. Still nothing - still greyed out. This was working perfectly until tod

View 1 Replies View Relatedthis problem just started for me a couple days ago. I cannot tell what action causes it, but now restarting and resetting my PRAM settings does not fix it. This seems to be an ongoing problem and you can see from my other posts that it is still not resolved: I have a restored previous Itunes library now appearing in my Itunes application, but when I click on any music within it, a box comes up saying: "The song can not be used because the original file could not be found, would you like to locate it?" When I click on this, it just takes me to the 'Music' file which is completley empty. I am scared to connect my Ipod in case I lose all that is on there as well and can not find the 'manually manage music' in preferences. I also have a brand new Ipad that I need to sync with ITUnes. I am also concerned about connecting my external hard drive for the same reason as I can not find anywhere in Time machine preferences that will turn off the automatic download once the external hard drive is connected. I am running Mac OSX 10.5.8 & Itunes 10?
