I have the project active in the timeline, but it still isn't allowing any "Share" option.Â

I am unable to select certain options in preferences. In Sharing, there are lots of things I cant do. Right now I'm trying to set up external hard drive for time machine and I am unable to enter my Home name, its greyed out.This happens a lot.

Bought a used 4 TB Seagate drive, formatted it , checked the speed 150 MB/s read/write and made a partition. Apparently it worked perfect.Â
However after this first partition the drive is behaving erratically. I can not modify partitions anymore nor delete them. Repair disk is not finding any problem either from the system or from the recovery partition.Â
I am starting to believe the disk is damaged. Beside the partition problem the disk is behaving fine.

I am trying to connect to my girlfriend's father's Macbook, and you can't connect to his computer, but I can connect to her computer on the same network. I looked at the firewall settings and it has checked "Allow all connections," but I dont know what else it could be. Also, in iChat wen I click his name and go to ask to share his screen, that too is greyed out. Edit: I told them to go to the iChat menu video and click screen sharing, but that is greyed out as well. I can screenshare with her, but not him. The connection doctor has Screen sharing and Multiperson video chat Xed out due to a slow connection. So I guess I shouldn't be able to connect to either of the, but I can connect to hers, so I should be able to connect to his.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a centralized network location where I store my "iTunes Music" directory. This location contains all the media (music and video), but no library information. We have 2 computers with separate libraries that use the files on this network drive. Each computer has its own set of playlists, podcast subscriptions, and devices (ipods and iphones) that attach to it. I set it up this way so we would not duplicate files, but so that each computer could be customized to each user.

I've tried calling it up through the file menu, through Command-E and through the little share icon on the right. When attempting through file, the file menu disappears as if the command has been recognised, yet no dialogue appears. When attempting through the share button, there is not suggestion that even my click has been recognised, yet I am able to click "add destination" at the bottom.Â
I've tried opening up a new, blank project and adding a single, unaltered clip and get the same problem. As mentioned before, I'm running FCPX 10.1.3, on OSX 10.9.4. I've used FCP on my machine before (including exporting) with no problems.Â

View 2 Replies View RelatedOne of our designers works locally from his hard drive then at the end of each day, copies over a folder of the files that he has worked on, over to a AFP share on the Windows 2003 fileserver.Also the problem only seems to be when copying TO the server and not when copying from it.When the kernel panic occurs, he restarts then strangely enough, he attempts the copy over again and it works fine.

I share the file via Apple Devices 1080p and i get that l title notification that says "Share successful" but the file doesn't show up at all! Normally, they pop up at the Home Videos folder deep inside the iTunes folder thingo. They're not anywhere on this mac. Â

So ive been having alot of trouble with rendering a 6 minute video on Final Cut Pro X.
I go to file, share, and use HD 1080p, the video gets about 25% through when this error comes ups:

Ive looked up this problem and I cannot find a solution, I've tried doing whatever i can think of like copy and pasting it all into a different project and trying that, creating a new event and pasting it into a project there, ive tried turning off App Nap too.
Also, all throughout editing this actual video i kept running out of disk space and alot of errors would come up, so when this error came up i thought it might be that and i deleted alot of things i didnt need and cleared out my trash but it hasnt made a difference.

I'm transitioning from FCP 7 and a Sony DV camera to FCP X and a Canon HD camera. I shot video of a dance performance in HD 1920 x 1080, 59.94P. I imported the AVCHD clips into FCP X with the copy media option. One clip is 1:26:57 (1 hr, 26 min ...) and the other is 1:21:43 long
When I used FCP 7 I created sub-clips for each dance before laying them down on the timeline. In this FCP X project I created compound clips off of the longer of the two AVCHD clips (the performance up to intermission), created a project named DVD 1 and moved the compound clips to the timeline and added titles.
If I follow my old workflow, the next step would be to send to Compressor and then import into DVD Studio Pro but I want to burn a simple DVD to check out how the titles look but when I try to send the project to Compressor the "Send to Compressor" and "Share" menu items are grayed out. If I select the original 1:26:57 AVCHD the options are also grayed out but if I select the slightly shorter 1:21:43 clip they are not. If I select any of the compound clips the option are also grayed out.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOk so within the last day my internet sharing has been working fine, it just won't let incoming devices connect to it. I.E. my Ipod Touch sees my MacBook Pro, but doesn't get an IP I believe, same case with my iPhone because it tries to use the Wifi, but since it can't properly connect either, it switches to 3G. If I disable the Firewall, everything works as it should, so the Firewall is definitely the problem. What I am stuck on is how to configure it properly so that I can use internet sharing, while having the firewall enabled. I haven't even touched anything related to the Firewall in months, so the fact that this just randomly happened is beyond me. I have even made sure that the internet sharing program in the firewall list has the "Allow incoming connections" toggle selected. I haven't touched the box that says "Allow signed software to receive incoming connections," but that box has always been enabled for months. I can't remember now, but I think initially when I came up with the idea that Firewall was causing problems, I noticed that the internet sharing program in the firewall config list actually had the "Block incoming connections" toggle selected. I thought allowing incoming connections would surely fix this, but I guess not.

The DLink manuals provide minimal to nil instruction for Mac setups.I have setup the NAS with 2 3TB WD Caviar Green drives, but everytime I drag files to folders on the NAS, the Finder either asks for a password or tells me outright I don't have permission to read/write files on the NAS. Other times when I try to dismount the NAS, I need to reboot the Finder to release the NAS so it can be unmounted.None of my folder settings (vies, location, view options) stick from one view/setting to the next. I can't see how the drives were formatted (I am assuming Windows-specific formatting, over which there is no control or access to options).
I have set up the read/write access using the DLINK web interface (10.0.1.1) and all appears to be normal until I try to use the NAS.I have tried to fix ACLs and permissions etc with individual folders and with the volumes themselves using Terminal command "sudo chown -R `id -un`:`id -gn` " but this hasn't worked.Various other sites have been visited (eg url...) but no help there. The DLINK web pages are near-totally useless. Unless someone else has gotten theirs to work, its going into the bin and I will have wasted $$ in buying the box

I use preview all the time to email pdf documents. Since the update to Yosemite when I click the share icon then click mail all I get is the "clunk" noise I associated with error messages, but nothing else, no dialogue window and no error message. I can't find anything in the Preview preferences about sharing. Anywhere else I should be looking?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've spent the morning trying to get printer sharing to work for the following situation, additionally illustrated by the attached image: I have a network centered around a Belkin router. An iMac is connected to it with an Ethernet cable, a HP PSC 2110 printer is in turn connected to the iMac with a USB cable.
Wirelessly, a number of laptops connect to the network. There is a MacBook Pro, that doesn't have a single issue whatsoever. Also, there is a DELL Inspiron 9400 running XP with Service Pack 3, protected by a McAfee security suite. What I'm desperately trying to do, is to enable the DELL to wirelessly print from the HP printer connected to the iMac. Obviously the iMac itself is able to print, and the MacBook Pro plays nice as well.
Now, there are about a million threads on this topic, with situations quite similar, but none of the solutions proposed anywhere seem to get the whole thing running. For this reason, I decided to have people shine their light on exactly my own situation, in case I am missing something.
The Bonjour software on the DELL is up-to-date, but giving the "No Bonjour printers are available" message (I'm not sure about the exact wording, since in my situation it is in Dutch.) The McAfee firewall is set to allow Bonjour full network access, and additionally UDP port 5353 is opened up. Obviously Printer Sharing is turned on on the iMac.I'm at a complete loss, so I came here to look for an answer. Or someone to tell me to forget it, it's not going to happen. I'd take anything right now.
