Mar 16, 2012I have just purchased a Macbook pro and have just seen on the Apps icon on the screen that I have 2 updates available, one for garageband and the other for iphoto. I tried logging in using my apple ID username and password but I keep getting an error message stating:"You have updates available for other accounts. To update this application, sign in to the account you used to purchase it."I googled the apple ID error and it led me to the apple support side where I could find out if I had multiple apple ID's linked to the same email address.
It came back with 3 accounts linked to my email address.I have found the username's for all 3 accounts and changed the passwords to all the same and then tried to log in to Apps on the macbook but can't seem to do it. I was wondering if it's possible to delete Apple ID's so I only have one account. What I have noticed is that when using my iphone the old app's I have to log into my old Apple ID to download up-dates, whereas the newer apps on my phone I have to use my email address as the username.

May 27, 2012For months now I've been getting error 13 whenever I try to update apps or get new ones from the Mac Appstore. I already have six updates pending and this is starting to get on my nerves. most weren't even executable for some reason.

App Store :: Not Allowed To Download Previously Purchased App (Unknown Error, Error -4)?
May 1, 2012Trying to re-install Twitter from the Mac App Store. When I click "install" I get a prompt to type in my Apple ID (pre-filled with jonas.clement@hotmail.com; NOT ME). When I type my correct Apple ID and password in I get an "Error -4" message followed by "Unknown Error" message.
I have NO clue who jonas.clement@hotmail.com is. My account has not been hacked (at least no unauthorized purchases have been made). When I view my previously purchased apps, I see the whole list, Twitter, included...but I can't seem to download it.
Here's what I'm running:

Here's what I've tried. Signing out of the App Store and signing back in.Signing out of the App Store and not signing back in until I try to download the App. Signing out of iTunes (trying everything). Restarting. What else is causing these errors?

Jun 22, 2012The app store on my Mac Mini (2.7GHZ I7 running 10.7.4) tells me I have 3 apps that need to be updated. Whenever I try to update them, I get an error message that reads " We could not complete your request. There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later. (13). I've gone online and saw that some people were fixing the problem by erasing some kind of hidden cookie. It seems to be somwhere in /library/Cookies file but I don't have a file in my library labeled "cookies". I also saw another post where they tried to delete it in terminal, but that had no effect for me.

Mac App Store Error Even With FREE Apps
Apr 8, 2012I just bought a macbook pro yesterday and conected my apple ID that I created for my iphone. I was able to input iTunes gift card and use the balance fine but today sudnly I canoot download anything even free apps and I still have 15$ in my account left from the 25$ gift card. Every time I try to install a free or non free it goes to my billing page and ask me to input a credit card, if I select non and done it gives me an error to contact suport.

Jun 13, 2012I recently got hired into a Tech position and inherited the current iMac machine running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 (now updated to .4 build). I was in the process of De-Personalizing the machine from the previous person who worked in this office, but when I proceeded to try and install some important updates for Final Cut X and entered my Apple ID and Password, I was given an Unknown Error dialog box. Hitting OK I then noticed the 'Unknown Error (4), please try again later' dialog box. This is rather frustrating.
I was wondering if the reason it is not working is because the versions of the programs where purchased under a different Apple ID (the previous employee who worked here).

We have a slow connection at home so I leave it downloading overnight, but when I get up in the morning it says theirs an error in the pkg. Jun 19, 2012When I bought my Macbook Pro on Thursday I also purchased Pages whilst in the Apple store in town. The assistant helped me start the installation whilst I was there and he told me that it would continue when I got home, even if i shut the laptop down there. So this is what I did, however, since I've been home, every time I click Install on Pages in the App Store a message comes up saying : "There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later." Another thing I should mention is that I purchased Pages on a different Apple ID account when I was in the store, but I was told I only had to log in to that account from my Macbook Pro and I could easily download Pages.

Feb 18, 2012I am not able to open FCP X on my iMac which is running on mac os x version 10.5.8.I have tried to update the version to see if there is any new versions, but apple update says there is no new updates.I am able to install the trial version without a problem. Open it, drag the app to the applications folder. But its only when I try to open it, it gives me the error.Also there is a circle with a slash on the Final Cut Pro X app icon to show that it is not compatible.Is there any way I can get it to work. I used to have Final Cut Pro working on this before without a problem, however deleted as I found it a bit difficult to learn. But I have seen the features for Final Cut Pro X which is so much easier and really would like to give it a try.

Apr 21, 2012I am getting this error "The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -50)." when I try to transfer files from my Mac Mini to my External Harddrive which is connected to my Airport Extreme. " The error does not appear to happen all the time. It does seem consistent if I am transfering files and then try to transfer more.
The files I am transferring are .mp4. It does not appear to care about the size of the file, it happens with small files and large files, I can transfer some large folders (2.54G). I can connect the hard-drive externally directly to the mac mini and it will transfer any file.
