View 1 Replies View RelatedMy facetime was working fine until recently it asked for a login and this time when I did login with my Apple id, it prompted for email verification. However it is not able to complete the verification and keeps giving the following error message : Could not verify the email address. Please check your network connection and try again.
I have checked the support forums and they all point towards preferences. Problem is that the preferences option for face time is grayed out and I am not able to use them.Â

Today I noticed a problem that has happened to many running 10.6.3. After a restart the sound volume goes to max and there is no sound from the internal speakers! In the sound pref it has changed from internal speakers to sound flower. What is causing this? No third party app that would need to install a driver are there like Avid media composer. I have tried restarts and smc resets no luck at all.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to know if anyone can point out the advantages and disadvantages of using a line-in microphone (for the 1/8" analog jack) compared to a USB microphone for a Mac Pro. Do I need some kind of amplification for a head-set microphone with a 1/8 analog jack? I can't get mine to work, but I wonder if there's something I haven't selected correctly in my Preferences.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I boot into windows 7, on my iMac, the audio is muted by default. The audio works fine; no hiccups whatsoever, but it's just annoying to have it boot and be muted.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen the sound on my MacBook is muted, and there should be a sound playing (FOR EXAMPLE: EMPTY TRASH), the speakers click. It is almost like the sound wants to play, but does not, instead with a click. This happens every time.
EDIT: It also clicks before it plays a sound too. This happens only when the speakers are not used for a long time. Like a few hours.
Is it possible to do group video chat in Facetime or does it only have one to one functionality?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy facetime keeps saying an internal error has occurred. Quit and reopen. When I do that and try to call a contact it just says face time failed.

I wonder if with regards to accessing FaceTime on multiple devices. We have a number of Mac products (iPad, iPhones and Mac Book Pro) at our house, all connected to one wireless network. Some of these devices can log into FaceTime but others cannot (notably the MacBook pro), using the same Apple ID details. The error message I get is that I should check my network connection. However, the connection is fine, and other devices have no problems with connecting to Facetime.

A few days ago I noticed that my mac mini was on mute so I tried the shortcut keys on my key board and they don't do anything so I go to system preferences > sound and it shows the mute check box checked and grayed out and above in the drop-down box where you are suppose to select what the audio sources is, is empty it used to say internal speakers, line in, and line out.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm running OS X 10.6.8 on a 2.7 GHz i7 Macbook Pro with a 250Gb Apple SSD TS256C. Since last Autumn, after a problem that saw the SSD replaced by Apple and me needing to migrate my profile across from an older Macbook, every time the system shuts down it forgets my sound settings. So no matter how I set the sound before powering down it always chimes on start up. It's entirely possible that this may be a problem from the migration, but I don't know how to rectify the issue.

The audio on laptop is off for no apparent (muted) reason.
Info:
MacBook Air, iOS 5.1
The volume is muted, but I can't un-mute it because I am unable to click on any of the sound options because they are all "grayed out". The little box next to mute is checked and I cannot un-check it because it's grayed out. Nothing works when I plug in headphones or speakers or anything, and there is no red light glowing where you plug the headphones or speakers in.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThis annoying bug is driving me crazy when I'm listening to music or watching a youtube video. It seems as if some process is interfering with sound output. I've already tried eliminating the problem by closing all apps, uninstalling perian, quicksilver, to no avail. Is there anyway to see which processes are using sound output at any given time?Â

Just downloaded Facetime into Snow Leopard. Everything is up to date. Have not been able to open it. Keeps telling me that I need to quit Facetime and open it again.Â

I have noticed while using skype on my macbook pro 2012 13inch that the green light randomly but frequently shuts off for about a half second and then turns back on. During that time, my screen freezes on Skype and then returns back to normal when the green light comes back on. Is that normal with skype on mac's or is it an internal computer issue.Â

my last work pc had a neat piece of software that allowed you to select a contact's phone number in the Outlook address book and then dial directly (albeit via the office Voip system).
Is anyone aware of anything similar for use with the iMac and Address Book?
Yosemite software updated and Ios and icloud ID are all checked. I can receive calls but unable to make.

my macbook pro has started to just cut out randomly. I have had this with an expanding battery and haven't had the money to replace it yet, but I don't know if this is part of the issue. When my computer cuts out, it is as though the power cable has been pulled out and the whole system just shuts off in an instant. I know that the power cable has definitely not come out, though.

I re-installed my Music according to Apple's instructions, but that didn't resolve the problem. Some songs are getting cut off at around the 3:00 mark, and when they do, iTunes doesn't proceed to the next song. I'm operating Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 on a brand new iMac and have never had this problem before.

This is pretty cool. If you are using the latest builds of the Chrome browser for Mac with the ability to install Chrome extensions, you can now install Google Voice into your browser. It adds a little icon to the right of the URL/Search bar which lets you make calls/SMS/Check your messages. Perhaps the best feature though, is that you can make calls directly from the browser - just like you can on your iPhone. Chrome will create a hyperlink on phone numbers it finds in the browser. The calls go through whichever phone (including Skype) you have set up with Google Voice. Eventually, once Gizmo5 is properly integrated with Google, you'll be able to make the full transaction without leaving your browser.
